awesome idea! I just went out tonight and got an 18 inch pipe, pipe clamp and secured it to the wall with the flange. Put the bike up on it and it worked great! i just need to find a good way to clamp it down. however, mounted on the wall, it looks like it is tilting slightly downward. I used 1/4" x 2" lag screws to secure it to a wall stud. any suggestions?
@bikermancam18 Hmm.. Not sure why it would tilt. You can actually use blocks of wood to clamp it if it slids. Just channel out a section for the frame in each block of wood and sandwich it in there.
I wanna make one of these stands but a floor standing version. I'm having major trouble trying to find a pipe clamp anywhere!?!? Do we sell these in the UK as none of the major hardware stores have them!?
Great idea for a work stand. Very clear, and concise. I know exactly where I am going to mount it on my work bench. Plan to build one this weekend. Thanks again.
Aaaaaaw! great idea! I am a custom wood worker and I have lots of these! Never thought of this! Love the vid!.......btw....you know Harbor Freight has the bike stand for $29 rite? It's the same one at Wal Mart for $99. (2 bike capacity. Oh yeah, HF has the clamps for like 4 bucks a set! don't buy em' all....I need some for me!....tee hee he. Great Job on the Vid Johnny!
cool i used to be into bicycling big time i was getting good at it then somone stole my bike so now i just dirtbike, whats a good brand of bike these days?
@TheHondaAbuser Really any brand is pretty good, some better than others and no matter who you ask everyone will have their own opinions. Personally, I don't like KTM's because my step-dad is a mechanic and he is always having to fix KTM's, because they always seem to break down. And I ride Kawasaki, it is amazing but also Honda is good.
the 1 dislike is the guy that invented the bike stands :D ahah

@chebbus In the US all hardware stores carry them pretty much. Not sure in the UK. You can get them on eBay.

It would have been nice to see the bike on the stand ?. Why wouldn't you show that ?.
AustinPetDetective 6 months ago
@AustinPetDetective Guess I just assumed I didn't need to. Probably would have been good to show it. I have it mounted in some other vids.
