Max Payne 1 was the shit! Gameplay, storyline, characters, guns... all were fucking awesome, one of the best games ever.

Then came along Max Payne 2 and fucked shit up like every sequel seems to do. Fucking hate that shit.

And the movie? What a piece of shit, a disgrace to the Max Payne franchise. Mark Wahlberg hadn't even played the fucking game before he did the movie. And where in the game do you see fucking demons? Nowhere.... What a piece of fucking shit.

Yeah the mood in MP1 was awesome, you had real feeling when playing it. It was nothing like the other 3rd person shooters, no mindless blasting or that shit. The music made that creepy feeling when you walked around in those crackhouses and in the nightmares.... Oh my god I remember the maze in Payne's dream where you heard that baby cry and stuff. Totally freaking awesome.

I just finished Max Payne 1 (again) on my computer with Windows Vista, so yes, it does.

However, I occasionally had sound problems, with stuff like music and dialouge disappearing, but that's most likely thanks to my very scratched up CD.

when a movie is basted on a book or videogame, it means the producers have inspired and developed a new story following the original one. max payne was one of these cases, starship troopers is another example (inspired from starcraft). dont get me wrong, i too was disapointed by the storyline in the max payne movie, because the game was extraordinary. i just explained what hapends when a movie is based on a novel or videogame

im not sure im right but in the game there was a drug.(dont remember what its called) and it would make people crazy and so max took some of it but he didnt know like one scene where he saw mona sax and they drank but mona put the drug in his drink. another scene where he was in mansion, at the end of the level there was a woman and some swats she injected the drug in max. remember when those wierd levels where u could hear his baby crying. so instead of the weird levels they put the monsters in
