Skull fuck every last fucker in the land? I mean ffs the country is ruined, bankrupt, the public purse paying off the excesses of the rampant greed of the bankers and developers. And STILL people will vote for them.

  • Curse of god on him and all his fucking party and all his cohorts....They have destroyed our country and have led us all to the edge of poverty dor years to come...They look after the wealthy and corrupt and piss on the rest of us...

  • My old irish teacher who grew up with Cowen said years ago that Brian had alcohol problems! :P

  • Brian Cowen should bend over and get Anglo Irish Bank shoved up his Aras take the pain Brain the irish people have.

  • Well viewers you know what they say....counter-arguing with a madman is a self-defeating counter argument in itself.

Glad to be of service zenarcadian, good luck on The Mentalist. break a leg.

  • I don't think he sounds pissed at all, or even under the weather - not slurring his words or anything. Although it's common knowledge (and has been for years) that he has a drink problem.

  • I don't think he sounds pissed at all, or even under the weather - not slurring his words or anything. Although it's common knowledge (and has been for years) that he has a drink problem.

  • well done RTE. the intention was to make the taoiseach look a fool (how can we have someone whi si not a jackeen ruling us?). thanks to the publiciy RTE generated the whole country looks foolish and the drunken paddy image lives on.

  • He doesn't very well come off as drunk, but perhaps that was spin to hide the fact that he was shamelessly dodging the question of budget cuts, this man is actively mocking us, his public, by dodging criticisms and refusing to apologise for the grand trough that this country has become since he took charge.

He laughs at us every time he cashes his cheques knowing we're bailing his mates out.

THERE IS NO HOPE until he's put on the scrapheap with the rest of us.

  • He made a balls of it

  • In fairness he doesn't sound pi&&ed but he definitely should have had his breakfast and a cup of coffee before he went on

  • RTE: Irelands national broadcaster. We specialise in pumping out any movies or programmes that are anti-Nazi, anti-racist, pro-immigrant and pro-multicutural. We aim to air this rubbish, I mean fab stuff, everyday, or at least every chance we get.

RTE:Priming the Irish to support immigration, turning Ireland brown, one programme at a time.

  • @ARTYeee And there's nothing wrong with it. Racism is the most ass-backward way of thinking that ever existed, to judge somebody simply by the colour of their skin, not factoring in what the government actually puts them through to get citizenship, how hard they work, what they have to contribute.

Immigration created the Celtic Tiger, as the influx created demand and a workforce.

Oh, yeah, and Hitler was a syphilis-infested loner.

  • @thezenarcadian

Hello viewer, patching you through to RTE psychotherapy unit now.

RTE psychotherapy: How can we help. Oh, not much we can do here for you I'm afraid, just stay away from watching the Late Late it'll only make your condition worse, and plenty of nationwide for you viewer.

Glad to be of service. ;¬ )

  • @ARTYeee I love you have no rational arguments for my points, not even a counter-argument to my stance on government immigration policies.

It appears your focus here is solely on how RTE supposedly infiltrate people's heads.

What you don't realise, however, is I don't watch RTE, or television at all in fact.

So you really have no basis for your idiotic attempts at insult.

Run along, junior, the special bus is waiting for you.

  • @thezenarcadian

Says the big boy who blocks lol. Yes there are plenty of idiots on you tube lol. We'll have to do a piece on you in Whine Time

  • @ARTYeee What can I say, I keep good company. You would too if you didn't want everybody sent to the camps.

  • @thezenarcadian

Of course I want everyone to have a fun filled time at the camps.

Whats wrong with Butlins and Mosney?

  • @ARTYeee Jesus. Intelligent debate is lost on subhumans like you.

  • @thezenarcadian

Subhumans?? Oops, mind that anger there. To help with your bad case of infantilism, we'll hand you over to RTE Creche.

RTE Creche: Hello viewer, we have many games and puzzles for your disposal, to help you feel more at home. (we understand you are incapable of english comprehension above senior infants) not a problem, that's why we're here, we cater to all infantile and incompetent people.

Here, have a go at the alphabet blocks. ;¬[)

  • Great ambassador for IE. If the public like the image he has, and the impression he creates around the world, fine- he reflects the status quo. But what a state!

In my opinion we need a proper leader to inspire the people, and have the respect of everyone.

Bring back the puppets of "spitting image" Lol, hick

  • He sounds pretty normal to me!! Big hype by knit pickers waiting for him to slip up, give the bloke a break

  • @stapo187 And continue bankrupting us? Fuck that!

  • @stapo187 give him a break id love to break his neck ...they should all be locked up

  • @stapo187 He sounds normal because he normally hit the Dail bar by 3.30 every day

  • tbh i think cowen cud possibly be one of the best men for the job! not even obama cud save us now wer fucked! at least cowen can go on the piss an turn up the nxt day thats dedication for ya!

  • @thecrazypanda99 What age are you? That is the most stupid statement I've ever seen on this sad excuse for a website.

  • @thezenarcadian if this is such a " sad excuse for a website" then why are you on it???!! EEJIT!!

  • @purelegend08 To check out this interview, not get accosted by trogolodytes.

  • @thezenarcadian auh good one, GET A LIFE!!!

  • @purelegend08 CAPS LOCK IS BIG AND CLEVER!!!

  • @thezenarcadian and your point is???!!!

  • i must be thick, but, the people of this country have to suffer the cuts but billions can be found for the banks, call it quits brian, call an election, because the day after the next budget we will hear the bankers bonuses

  • The real morons are those who care more about a hangover than the Anglo bailout.

see "Probe into Italy mafia money laundering "

  • He uses the word decipher in this conversation.

That meas can only mean 1 of the following

    1. He was not drunk.

    2. He was drunk but has a very sharp mind, therefore probably the man for the job.

  • Fugsake...what's the big deal....sounds like just has a cold ; don't get the drunk accusation basis at all! ...wouldn't like his job either!

  • FFS I'm no FF fan. Didn't vote for them or those other shower in the last 2 elections but this interview was completely blown out out of porportion.People should have got their heads out of their arses years ago instead of moaning over a crappy interview.

  • Its Brian Cowen Half man half Cow on magic mushrooms dont be putting the man cow on a bad trip

  • First time heard interview since it hit headlines after hearing so much about it thought it was a complete disaster and he was pissed totally..Typical irish blow everything right out of context ok he is not a superb speaker but its brian cowen it is was it is we are so good at tearing everybody and everything down what have we got to be angry about who is hungry!!! But it was hunger greed and the want for more. The whole world is a mess financially but sure we are progressing somehow someway

  • It's time to give Ireland back to the British and apologise for its condition

  • @jstuartbrennan oh yea and maybe they could cause another famine..would that suit you? arsehole!!!

  • @bmniall over reliance on the potato, poor harvest, failure to industrialise, over population of rural Catholic peasants, subdivision of land and free market economics caused the famine. And if famine is so easily prevented or eradicated why does it persist today? This may be a bit too complicated for you to follow. Prick!

  • @jstuartbrennan - the english shipped 1,000's of cattle and 1,000's of tonnes of grain out through Irish ports to england while the famine raged. Genocide.

  • @jstuartbrennan Do I look like I've had a famine lately?

  • @thezenarcadian I mean famine that still persists in developing countries. There is only so much you can do for a people, until eventually they must help themselves. The British were not totally blameless, but there are other factors to consider

  • @jstuartbrennan You're a moron.

  • @BronaghF1 Is that the best intellectual, balanced and reasoned argument you can come up with? This folks, is why Ireland is in a mess, with semi-literate Philistines like this, who have the vote. No doubt this person also believes in talking serpents, moving statues and virgin births. Be very afraid.

  • @jstuartbrennan Very brave assumption to be made from one comment, I made my judgement of you through several. You're more than likely one of those people whose english father drummed it into you when you were younger that Ireland indeed belongs to England. Let me tell you something, if you have such a problem with how Ireland is run, how about you move and make room for people who actually deserve to be here? Stop running your mouth about it, don't like it here, then move.

  • @BronaghF1 We all make assumptions in life. I am a history teacher with a Masters degree in modern Irish history. My great-great grandfather and great-grandfather lived through the famine in North Roscommon, and you don't have to be told how bad it was there. My background in history has revealed a much deeper, multi-layered narrative, than the simplistic 'Brits are all bad' version. So calm down! Read proper history texts, rather than your Ladybird Book of Irish History for children

  • @jstuartbrennan Hard to believe, but hey if you say so. I don't believe that the 'brits are bad' but it is a touchy subject for most Irish people. You have your opinions and I have mine but no need to tell people they're wrong.

  • @BronaghF1 Dont mind that clown-" I am a history teacher with a Masters degree in modern Irish history. My great-great grandfather and great-grandfather..." yea yea yea really, your really Irish are you....

  • @gerconlon Ireland is officially a failed state. It's time to rejoin the United Kingdom and beg forgiveness for the mess we have created because of unreconstructed, philistine, greedy, Catholic peasants like you. We are all 'Europeans'. 'Irish' means nothing any more, get used of it cunt. One is reminded of O'Casey's 'Juno & the Paycock': when a peasant Catholic people get their hands on some money, they lose the run of themselves. That's why I am the teacher and you are the peasant. Prick

  • @jstuartbrennan Ladybird version -???. You should be ashamed of yourself. Any link you think you have had to Ireland is long dead-dont fool yourself into believing you have a right to comment like you have. Move on and find something to keep your petty mind occupied.

  • What is all the fuss about??! He sounds little different from his usual blocked sinus self. He does sound like he's just got out of bed - but drunk.? I think not.

  • I was abroad when this broke out and I'm only hearing it now. I'm not a FF-er at all but seriously lads what the hell is the big deal? One or two stumbles. Is that not par for the course in any interview where awkward questions are asked? Can't believe how much controversy this has caused. I'm actually disappointed coz I was expecting him to be constantly slurring. Complete non-event

  • I'm not a fan of Brian cowen by any means, but give it a rest.

He had a few pints,so what? I've had a few pints on worknights before and I'm sure many people have done that aswell

  • @foshissle Yeah, but your job isn't managing money for an entire country! He has four million people relying on him, and he can't even stay sober for an important radio interview about how broke we are, something that's very important to a lot of people, ie, the low income earners getting buggered over to repay the debt we owe from our government's poor management.

  • @foshissle - But, eh, you're not the Taoiseach.

  • Ok so the chap had a few pints. He's under a lot of pressure and stress because, well you know, he's running a country.

So he's entitled to have a drink.

  • Wednesday - 29 September 2010 - Dail Protest.

29 September = Day the Dail returns. 29 September = Day for renewal of the bank guarantee. 29 September = European-wide day of protest.

"Sitting on the sidelines or on the fence cribbing and moaning is a lost opportunity, in fact I don't know why people who do that don't commit suicide". Bertie "Uber-Shit" Ahern, July 2007.

Time to put your mouth where our money is !!

Time to tell that bastard Ahern and co. to go to Hell and burn there !!

  • he sounds like hes choking on his own neck fat

  • Do we really care about people commenting about their own level or lack of education. The real relevant point is that Brian Cowen was not entirely sober and should not have gone on air. He has reinforced the stereotypical image abroad that the Irish are a nation of drunkards. How can Ireland as a nation be taken seriously with this sort of performance?

  • WHAT THE FUCK WAS ALL THE HYPE ABOUT??

  • How can anybody talk so much shit?

Nothing but effing platitudes plus the man wasn't well...

  • Whats the big deal??! Anyone could sound groggy in the morning! People over reacting as usual.

  • I don't know anything about politics, fianna this or that, taoiseach or tanaiste blah blah blah. I'd rather live in my little bubble and ignore the fact that the leadership of most countries has become a very uninteresting reality TV show.

  • typical media talking shit..he sound fine..

  • @mrmendabest he did ya you fool

  • Yeah storm in a tea cup he's so drole it's hard to tell if he's drunk or if his fat lips are getting in the way.

  • I know Ireland is a small country with a small population - but - is this clown the best you can do for a leader? He just doesn't get it - he is NOT talking to the interviewer - he is talking to the Irish electorate, the markets and his European partners.

  • The Taoiseach Brian Cowen is no more drunk that the man in the moon. Absolute nonsense by the politically correct brigade.

  • @Neptunehugh fianna fail fuck

  • OMG hes twisted listen from 6min on obvious slurring of his words just coz its first thing in the morning doesn't mean he has to lose his english no sense whatsoever hes making!

  • he should be taken out into the middle of a field and handcuffed to his idol, bertie ahern, and shot! he was finance minister while the other cunt ruined the country! should he should be shot with him!!

  • @laury73 - I said - in 2007 - a lot of people were getting "TOO MUCH CREDIT" (you might as well have printed the money yourself) - But nobody complained in 2006 0r 2007 - GREED, GREED, GREED

  • If the UVF bomb Dublin, ff's problems will multiply by a million.Lol LOL

  • @dparr100 if the IRA bomb London David Cameron's will multiply by a million.

if Al-Qaeda bomb Washington D.C. then Barack Obama's problems multiply by a million.

if ETA bomb Madrid then the Spanish government's problems multiply by a million.

obviously if you bomb a place it creates a lot of problems. what's the point of your comment? The UVF ended their armed campaign three years ago and there is no reason to bomb Dublin anyway. i suppose it hurts you weren't born twenty years earlier.

  • I am no fan of BIFFO but this interview is no worse or less lucid than any of the ones I have heard him give over the years. What is the fuss about? We have for a long time had a government that is not fit for purpose, that has ignored the principle of ministerial responsibility and that we , the great Irish public, have failed to make accountable for their actions. Then we get into a frenzy over one interview. Maybe its true that people get the government they deserve.

  • the irish people, they are best in the world

  • @mahigo14 You may be young, and you may be living on another planet, but open your ears and your eyes. A huge percentage of Irish people are foul-mouthed, aggressive, litter louts and their lives are culturless deserts adoring so-called celebrities. The "friendly Irish" is a complete myth perpetuated by the Irish tourist board to dupe tourists from other countries. Irish people know this so-called friendliness is a complete sham.

  • @Neptunehugh you got raped by scangers didnt you ? poor dear

  • Is it just me, or does Brian Cowen not always sound like this?

  • @Joebycool I had the same thought listening to this. I'm not a fan of Fianna Fail, but I have to come to Cowen's defense. He may well have being suffering from a hangover, but drunk, I don't think so He has never had the clearest of speaking voices and can mumble a bit,.no more here than usual.

  • I really think people should stop saying all Irish people are like this were clearly not!

  • i'm really not seeing the issue.

  • We have Homer F ing Simpson running the country .

  • @RonanoDublin not entirerly (sp) true - at least when homer fucks up everyone can laugh x x x

  • Muppet. Thanks to the muppets who yet again voted this pathetic shower in again.

  • Sensationalist nonsense. The man is a little hoarse first thing in the morning, big stinking deal. Some people are just never happy unless they're creating needless drama and hysteria. Get a grip people for goodness sake

  • doesnt sound very drunk to me...

  • look dis is how ireland repersents itself we are all alcos , an dont say your not

  • @mackyf2210

No ireland isnt just because one person messed up dosnt mean we are all like that!

  • @mackyf2210 No not all of us are okay1!!

  • SinsemillaGreen-What evidence is there that FG would make things worse? "Worse" is coming down the track, ie: Ireland being humiliated by admitting we need a bailout from the EU or the IMF(who have been buying irish bonds by the truckload). This'll be as a result of the "boom" created entirely by the "ethos" of FF- cave in to rich peoples demands and screw the little guy.BTW- Kenny climbed Kilimanjaro in 2003 FOR CHARITY. Can't see Cowen climbing a few steps up to a McDonald's for a burger

  • not sure about all the fuss, sounds tired is all ...but even if cowen goes we're left with enda kenny ,good jaysus ,we need new politicians that can relate to the ordinary people ,who are up to there arse in depth due to these eejits ,,we have the same shower running this country since we got independence , family hand me downs ..no of these have ever lived in the real world .

  • Ive always wanted Fianna fail out but i dont think he sounds pissed, he sounds a bit hostile and flustered but thats just down to fianna fail arrogance. Bertie hated being questioned as well, remember his 'go kill themselves' remark aimed at concerned economists. That was a lot worse than this.

  • he should not b Taoiseach but i believe FF shud stay in power(or have mojority of it). it wud sicken me to see enda kenny and his party in power(its bad enuf ere but theyd make it worse) and along with Labour, the Greens and Sinn Fein..even tho Fianna Fail brought us into recession there the one's who have the most experience to get us out.all that is needed is the correct person in power..

  • Definitely jarred, the voice is very slurred and no fluidity of the thought... listen in particular to the 's' sounds and any word above two syllables.... a disgrace

  • he's not pissed ya loons, how would you sound that time a tha mornin?

  • he doesn't sound drunk, he just sounds like he's lying about something..

  • The whole country wants him out but he is too arrogant to go. We want Mary Coughlan out as well. She's another embarrassment to the country.

  • Blocked nose. Sober.

  • i think he s a hunk

  • @briandowlingofficial he sure is a dish B

  • Hes not drunk, he just sounds a bit hungover .

His interview was alright to me , he just sounds a bit groggy .

Get off his case , some of you are judging there like you are all perfect .

Ive often had a hangover in work

  • @justmyself991 stop sticin up for him, you know you like a good frump dump

  • @b00ndic ' sticin' is not a word.

Please learn to spell before you try to engage in a battle of words with me

  • @justmyself991 OI I'll say sticin if I want to say sticin, why u so anal about the english language you som kina throwback? or just a sticky?

  • @b00ndic00t Stop making yourself look stupid , go back to school and get an education will ya !

  • @justmyself991 naw you go back to school ya muppet

  • @b00ndic00t Says you who cannot even spell !

I have a masters degree in Psychology.

What is your level education ? Playschool ?

  • @justmyself991 hahaha fuckin Psychology??? you twat wheree tha goina getz u in life u fuckig liozer, i 'm a rich peerson who don't hav to no how te spelt pruper lik go back n eat yor spaghetti hoops loizer hahaha lol omg!

  • @b00ndic00t Wheres Psychology going to get me in life ? hmm a very good job in the field of Psychology :)

Its a rewarding job with very high pay actually .

Your rich are you ? then you must have won the lottery or have rich parents ,because you are very unintellectual.

  • for once he actually spoke alot of truth,i guess it was the drink!

  • Irelands very own Borris Yeltsin.

  • i am bian cowens half brother and i am FUCKING APPAULED WITH THESE COMMENTS. LEAVE BRIANO ALONE IT WAS A ROUGH NIGHT OKAY. WE ENDED UP HAVING TO ROB A TAXI PULLED A LEGGER AFTER HE DROPPED US HOME COZ WE HAD NO MONEY LEFT. ME AND BIG BRIAN WERE DOIN WHISKEY ALL NIGHT. GOOD SESSION THOUGH.

  • @MrJohnnycoyle think his name is Brian Mr Coyle

  • Ah in fairness we all go in to work somtimes after a few drinks and our performance isn't scrutinized so much................. in saying that were all not leader of the fucking country and responsible for getting people out of unemployment and getting us back on track! get these fuckin incompetent cunts out of power they have fucked us long enough, P.S Enda Kenny is a fuckin dope as-well, but at least he's a sober one!

  • Comment removed

  • wooohoooo B.C. ar meisce!!!

his voice is much deeper, slower

  • Is aoibhinn liom Eireann! ach ta se fior a ra is fuath liom fianna fail!

Translatio: I love ireland but it is true to say i hate fianna fail

  • @Batfoley go fingerfuck your mother translation: insert your hand in your whore mothers cunt

  • He does seem a little tired alright but no harm in that

  • Cowen is the wrong man to be in charge of a country that is practically on its knees and riddled with debt. His interviews never were inspirational in the first place and that one was the final straw. His own back bencher's want him out so thats a good indication that he is one the way out anyway. But he is arrogant and stubborn and will have to be pushed rather than step down. The decisions he made while finance minister has ruined Ireland but he will never admit it. Same as Haughey !

  • Apart from a hoarse voice I don't hear anything wrong with that interview. He doesn't sound drunk to me. Probably a late night but whats wrong with that.

  • ino same boring brian cowen complete shit

  • he sounds tired, thats it really. jesus i was expected a laugh from this.... its just another cowen interview 2me

  • Just listened to this interview. To be fair , Brian Cowens voice does sound hoarse but in no way does this sound like a man who is drunk or under the influence of alcohol. I do not think anyone could give the types of detailed answers that he has given to the interviewer , while drunk or under the influence.

  • @mikecollinsie I agree with you, re he sounds hoarse but not drunk.

I've just listened to this for the first time too, and I can't believe the hype about this in the media. I'm actually kinda disappointed, I thought I'd be in for a good laugh or at least some finger wagging! ;-) Sounds like the "opposition's" spin machine is working in overdrive.

  • Look, Irelands in shit for the same reasons the UK is in shit. Banks loaned a shit load of money to greedy bastards who took more than they could afford. When small 3 bed estate houses were costing half a mill something was wrong. but the worst thing about the boom was everyone became a shithead- oh look at what I just bought, guess how much I earn- what happened to real Ireland where people cared about each other, not fuckin their cars- at that point I fuckin left..

  • @ceiltoic

    Couldn't agree more.

  • Ha Ha Ha this is great craic, i must look in again 2moro, friggin' in the riggin', cause there's fuck all else to do

  • In fairness to cowan he does one half arsed interview and gets into all sorts of trouble for it. I'm sure most people have turned up to work drunk on one or two occasions.

  • @simon44

MORE than on one or two occasions I'm not proud to say, ha ha!

  • ''Defeatism Cathal, will not solve this problem''.

You tell 'em Taoiseach! Never mind the crippling problems that our country is facing, we all just need to chill the f**k out and have a few cold pints of Ken. Isn't that right Biffo? ;-)

  • cant hear wat the fuss is about
