  • at first time I thought Kanji so difficult but now my attitude has changed

Kanji is really easy to learn (if we started from japanesepod101)

  • @japanesepod101 sumimasen..does mabushi also mean bright? does it have a different kanji?

  • @flamebagh Yes, "mabushii" also means bright (to the point of being blinding), and it is written like this: 眩しい.

  • Doumo Arigatou Gozamasu sensei-san!

  • I actually don't really understand some things: at first: is it the case, that it doesn't really matter what the On and Kun reading is because they both would be used the same way? could I just memorize both "translations" (Kanji->sound) together and mix them up without caring? and is there a practical reason why the Kanjis are still in use? to me it makes the appearance, that they don't really shorten the sentences in contrast to only hiragana, do they? :)

  • Now i how to write my favorite Jpop group BRIGHT. . .LOL

  • Interesting

  • yay i learned 8 kanji only 2992 more to go.

  • What about other ON readings like 'myou' and 'min'?

  • wow she has a good sense of humor...

  • How do you prevent yourself from getting confused between Red and Bright since they are both 'Aka'?

  • @DonNoypi There is another Kanji for the color red, it's 赤 so you'd just write that instead of the hiragana for aka.

  • sensei i think learning kanji is hard!

  • She's maaagic! At 2:41 there's a third magnet below the On example... But when she moves her hand at 2:48, it's gone!

    Oh the magic of cutting.

  • I must say I did struggle with this lesson. It got confusing. Sun Moon Moon (mei getsu) means bright moon. Aka rui means bright; bright + rui = bright...?

  • I prefer the On, since I do not know Hiragana, sadly.

  • ひろこさんは素晴らしい先生だよね。^^

  • @Kawanimation ありがとうございます^^

  • "The sun is bright. The sun shines on the moon, so the moon is bright. So, together, it's really bright :D!" haha, this made me giggle :3

i like this teacher! im studying japanese and she looks like alot of fun

  • 日月?

  • @trackmaniakid27 no not '日月' its ' 明' . writing the way you did, it's two different words, like "hi, tsuki"

  • 中国語の文字は、4000年前に中国で発明された。

    しかし、日本で発明さ漢字があります。

    たとえば、忍者の忍(忍)は、日本で発明されました。

    また、多くの漢字が日本で発明されたがあります。

Chinese characters were invented in China 4000 years ago.

However, there are the Chinese characters invented in Japan.

For example, the ninja shinobi(nin) was invented in Japan.

In China, there is no kanji for shinobi(nin).

There are also many Chinese characters was invented in Japan.

  • @opop150 You should really do your research before you write such a long post.

  • @AmericanDesiDude it shure aint shodou. however it is good for us gaikokujin...

  • the book crazy for kanji teaches you about the inner workings of kanji. chek it out wen u get a chance.

  • it's akai

  • @JACKIEMON1

    a-ka-ru-i

Kun-reading is in Real Japanese. "あかるいakarui" means ligh or bright.

Of course you can use Kanji if you want. "明るいakarui".

    Then...

On-reading is in Old Chinese. and.... In China , One Kanji has One Mean. Chinese Kanji DON'T need Hiragana and Katakana.

When Japanese use Katakana to teach(or learn) how to read On-reading.

    「明mei」means ligth or bright

  • kuro means black, right!

  • @jessicaangel16 Yes. Kuro is black (the noun) whereas Kuroi is black (the adjective).

  • So bright in kun-reading is aka?? I believed red was aka?? :O

  • @ImTooSexyForMyself I need to worry you a bit. There are many homonymes in Japanese. And actually aka-rui - is bright, and aka-i - is red. It's a bit deifferent. Anyway, back to homonymes. There are some words that are spelled the same but have different writings. e.g. kami can mean "hair", "god" or "paper", depending on writing and context. Some words can have up to 15 meanings/writings. so...

  • 明日は?

    その漢字も使わないの?

  • @GrubbyTubby @GrubbyTubby i guess you can use it like that, in chinese that means tomorrow haha, and i dont think the japanese uses any kanji for ashita, could though :3

  • Comment removed

  • @Commandos12 i AM japanese. and they do use a kanji. 明日。its the same kanji as chinese.

  • Just adding るい on the end of 明 just makes it still equal/the same. Hope that helps. ^-^

  • 赤(Aka)=Red

明(Aka) 明(Mei)=Bright (Depends on context you use it in) ^-^

月(Gatsu) Means moon and 明(Mei) Means bright, but literally means sun moon, both are bright but there are two so not one is overpowering the other. So 明月(Meigatsu) would literally mean sun moon moon. You get it? It throws it off balance now because there are now two moons and one sun, making the moon the brightest, which leads to the meanig bright moon.

  • @jayubig Every man would ;)

  • すご~い!!!

    英語上手ですね・・・

  • All I could read was "sugoooooi!!!" Haha Super cool how you can write in Japanese.

  • japanese is mutch harder to learn than chinese, so i say!!

  • the "to nake ling story short..." everytime is really annoying; besides that great lessons, but why not more often? those lessons will be much more effective if they were daily, at least weekly.

  • Dude she's doing this for free. She's probably busy with an income generating job!

  • great lessons! when is the next lesson coming? ^^

  • The meaning of akarui (= bright) can also be figurative, as in "bright future", which is akarui mirai [明るい未来]

  • Hi, when drawing the sun kanji on some vids people join up the bottom right corner on others people leave a bit sticking out. Does this matter. Also the middle line does that have to touch both sides.

    Thanks
