  • I love hearing about ladies losing weight with pcos!! Great job!! I just started a few videos to track my weight loss in 2012. Please if anyone has time check it out. I'm really anxious about putting myself out there! Esp the pictures I put up!

  • I have PCOS and I am not over weight. I'm 22 years old and only way 148lbs and my doctor told me to lose weight. I really would not like to be thin I like my weight but I would like to slim down in my abdomin area. I am going to try and healthy diet, moderate exercise, and drinking plenty of water, to see if it makes a big difference because I actually did that regimen before in the summer and I lost 4 lbs in a month and yes thats slow but I felt so good in general. That is my 2012 goal.

  • You are so awesome! I get really bad lower back aches when I take selenium--looked it up, and found that selenium can cause the cysts to grow. Also, unable to lose weight, and I get chin hairs. My food journal shows I have a thyroid problem. Autoimmune problem with thyroid is usually because person has gluten sensitivity (thyroid protein is similar to to gluten)--CUT OUT ALL WHEAT PRODUCTS. And take chlorella to clear you of heavy metals, because I am thinking mercury is the cause.

  • I was diagnosed with PCOS last year.. It's so hard to lose weight. sometimes I'm just disgusted with the way I look...:/

  • @Mrsglossy1988 Just make sure to keep doing aerobic and anaerobic exercise, and also eat very cleanly. No sugar, white flour, low GI, low gluten if possible, and get 5 veggies and 2 fruits in per day. Good luck!

  • I am sooooo fed up of excercising - brisk walking 8 miles 5 days a week, eating fruits and veggies with a little legumes and 2 litres of water daily and I only lost 2 lbs at the end of the month. What is really frustrating is that my blood sugar levels are normal. I'm also big boned on top of that. Kudos to you.

  • @TheQueenIsWithin I completely understand. Have you tried doing all those things while cutting your calories maybe down to around 1400/day? Also, you may try adding some anaerobic activity (weight lifting or other strength training) also to help you burn calories when you're not working out as well. Good luck!

  • @iqchip I'm considering joining the gym this month. Something has to give one way or another. I'm not sure how many calories I get a day but I don't think it exceeds 2000 a day.

  • This girl is ultra-cool. I applaud her for her weight loss.

  • EAT PALEO (aka Caveman diet) -- and have very limited fruits, only low glycemic fruits. Dont have any sugar, starch, dairy - just meats, vegetables, healthy fats and very lmited fruit, limited nut butter. Google paleo diet - I've got to eat that way for the rest of my life :)

  • Hi, Also try the intellectus 424 diet (Google for it). I lost crazy amounts of weight it is amazing.

  • I have pcos too and have lost almost 40 lbs in the last 6 months by eating low carb and cutting out ALL processed foods and limited dairy. I eat mostly protein

  • there is no audio for this video.

  • @xdunlapx ....I can hear it just fine.

  • Is there a specific diet we can use for pcos? I've heard low carb or low GI, but I'm

Not sure which one is right, if any.

  • Did you lose weight while being on medication for PCOS or was this without medication to manage PCOS?

  • @JenniferG1683 It was without medication. Although when I stop exercising like mad, and start eating any sugar or white flour I stop losing and go back to gaining somewhat quickly.

  • Thank u for sharing! Ur story is very inspirational. I was diagnosed with hashimoto's hypothyroidism and PCOS a few yrs ago, and my dr wants me on another form of metformin called fortamet (extended release) in addition to my thyroid med, and birth control (regulate menstruation). Were u on metformin during your weight loss?

  • @HEARTOF24K Yes I was.

  • are you taking metformin?

  • @candygirl050792 - Yes, that, thyroid, spironolactone, and a whole arsenal of vitamins. I use bioavailable vitamins only, so be sure you check for that. It means your body will actually be able to process all the vitamins in the pill and that it will act like food in your body not just another random chemical

  • I also have pcos... and in the past year and a half I have lost a total of 176 lbs. I started at nearly 400 lbs. And your right. Diet, exercise, and drinking a lot of water helps A LOT. And yes... loosing the weight really does make you feel better physically and mentally. I also hit the platoue where you just sit there and don't loose more.... its hard! I dropped my cals down to 800 or less a day and that helped.. but boy its hard!!

  • @Shokara2 Gosh, thats low. All my nutritional and fitness guides said not to go below 1200 calories per day because thats malnutrition (taking from muscle, and also hurting your metabolism, etc...). Be careful and check that one out real well. Ive noticed when I stop moving, things go haywire too. I have to get some sort of exercise at LEAST 4x's a week.

  • @iqchip I've now had lap band surgery and Im at 500 cals a day or less and I'm a the gym ffor at least 4-5 hours a day. I burn around 3200 cals a day. I'm not there yet... comeing from 400 lbs to normal weight is a very difficult thing to do. Your nutritional and fitness guides are no subsitution for a doctor and nutritionist. 500 calories of candy is far diffrent than 500 cals of protine with low fat and low carb. Dont go by calories alone!

  • @iqchip i now work out 4-5 hours a day and have between 300-800 cals a day of protine, no/no avoidable carbs. This is very tough. Im going to see a diffrent doctor on friday because I have not lost nearly the amount that would be expected. Granted under my big belly im very muscular. but my husband and family think I need to have more testing done other than slapping the lable of PCOS on. I have a 4 inch long cyst on my right overy... I have PCOS, but they think I have something else too.

  • With me, if I told myself I couldn't have something, it would make me crave it more. So, having fast food or chocolate occasionally seems to work for me. I also don't like "boxing myself in" with any sort of diet, such as Weight Watchers. It makes me want to give up because I know I can't stick to it the rest of my life. I just do what is common sense to lose weight.

  • First, CONGRATS girl! Glad u found a strategy that works for you! I have PCOS also... was diagnosed 10 yrs ago. I've never in my life lost a significant amount of weight until recently. I never really tried lol. Long story short, I've lost 60 lbs total... 45 in the last 4 mths. All I did was start walking at a good pace to get my heart rate up for 35 min every day, eat healthier stuff. I still have fast food and treats occasionally but I do it in moderation.

  • Why arent you looking into the camera???

  • @annanicolewannabe1 Because Im not an actress, and apparently this is purely amature. Obviously, no? I mean you can gather that Im not some kinda professional, right? I think I even mention in my videos Im nervous, shy, and not a professional. If it doesnt suit you, feel free not to watch.

  • @iqchip You don't have to be an actess to look into the camera...just common sense

  • whats pcos?

  • @bluebee72 poly cystic ovarian syndrome.

  • you're amazing(: i have pcos and its so hard to lose weight, ive tried everything and im gaining weight): its so hard):

i read a no carbohydrate diet can help lose weight and i was wondering if youve tried it and if it worked for you??

im gonna try what you have done cause im desperate to drop pounds(:

thank you! SO much for this(:

  • @LessThanLauren Heya, thanks... No, I dont believe in a no carb diet, but I do believe in whole grains. I do as low GI as possible (glycemic index), and also whole grains. I also try not to eat any corn ever just due to all the genetic mod crap they do to american corn and because of how high its glycemic index number is. Also, no sugar is best, and no white flour...

  • i was diagnosed with pcos at 15 and since then i have lost 21 pounds, but now im having alot of trouble losing the rest of the weight any tips??? and i would really like some advice about the excess body hair because now that i lost wieght and im seventeen i get very uncomfortable wearing certain clothing and i feel very self concious around my friends and especially guys.... will this be a problem in marriage will losing more weight help!!!! please help anybody

  • such a great inspiration for those suffereing from PCOS

  • girls try weight watchers, its one of the best diets for pcos, I lost 12kg in 4 months and its healthy

  • @ewa3918 wht is that ? plz tell me

  • i loose 83 pounds in seven month i have the same problem :(

  • More staying in shape tips for you here

  • you rock

  • Good job on the weight loss. But very boring video monotone voice

  • Congrats on 100 pounds, good for you! :)

  • You rock!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the cure for pcos is NATURAL progesterone cream.- wild yam mimics the effect of progesterone.. get yr naturopath to make some for up for u...stay away form processed foods, pesticides/herbicides mimic estrogen so must be avoided.. eat only organic.. avoid all food in plastic, exercise is very important.,., as fat raises estrogen..

Getting onto blood type and metabolic typing diet is the best way to loose weight and balance hormones..

Good to do this asap as fertility is at stake with pcos..

  • You're AWESOME!!

  • dido i am really wanting to know what else i can do to lose the weight i am vegan and still gaining weight

  • @ladydred31 stay away from pasta

  • even if its veggie pasta? i am vegan and its still not helping with my weight i do not workout like i should though are you on metformin as well

  • @staindred143 Ive had pretty good luck with the whole wheat stuff so long as I dont overdo it calorie wise.

  • I was recently diagnosed with PCOS, I'm 21, Dr said I've had it for long time (symptoms history).

I always thought i eat normal, i was bulimic before but cals intake within normal range.

Now, I put weight if i eat more than 1300cals, even thou i walk 8km dially 7days/week

Im fine now eating Paleo, better than ever but just wondering:

What is the diference btw loosing weight with PCOS and without it? If i didnt have pcos would i be able to eat more cals?

  • @Princesa47k because of the hormonal imbalance with PCOS, it is extremely difficult to lose weight more than the normal person. If a person with PCOS and without did the exact same routine, the one with PCOS would lose less weight...sucks =/

  • Hello my pcos sister. I'm on the apple cidar vinegar regimen so far so good. Got a period after not having one in 4 months. Hopefully in the next few months i'll be pregnant gor the first time in my 26 years of life.

  • I also have PCOS, and I'm working down from 500 pounds (I've lost 100 so far)Thank you for posting, you are awesome!!

  • wow, 100 pounds! That is amazing! Congratulations!!!

  • OMG I NEED MORE ADVISE ! Please, I have PCOS and I need to lose weight. It seems impossible to me, but listening to you gives me so much hope and will power.

  • Thanks for talking about this. I have pcos too and have lost almost 40 lbs in the last 6 months by eating low carb and cutting out ALL processed foods and limited dairy. I eat mostly protein, veggies and fruit. I feel great and have my PCOS under control.

  • I totaly feel you I have PCOS too and Im wanting to lose the weight soo bad .

  • "PCOS says eff you if you're trying to lose weight"-- i totally laughed out loud. Love it.

Thank you for motivation and for putting yourself out there. So many of us, myself included, feel like we need to hide behind this syndrome bc it's not pretty and it's easy to feel alone. So thanks again for putting yourself out there :)

  • that is such a lovely hair cut. You are nice to listen to. Thank you for recording these observations on pcos.

  • what is pcos

  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common condition characterized by irregular menstrual periods, excess hair growth and obesity

  • Well done xxxxxxx

Thanks for this i have PCOS it is the same as losing weight as non PCOS, move mr eat less x

  • NO SURGERY??? JUST ALL NATURAL AND WILL POWER?? iT SEEMS SO IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME. I FEEL I CAN'T DO IT. PLEASE GIVE ME SOME MOTIVATION.

  • You can do it..

    =]

Just realize how gorgeous you'll look afterwords, and that your youth clock is ticking.. and loosing weight after you get old is pointless..

    =/

Do it while your still youthful!

    =D

    Orelse your wasting priceless time!

  • @hokulani1982 No surgery. Motivation for me to NOT choose surgery were all the complications you risk having to go through in 10+ years, and with lap band its statistics of gaining it back being so high. No thanks to both. I just used logic to make self control possible by asking nutritionists and fitness experts (hired several over the years). I go by what most experts agree on for most of the population, so its not anything geared toward specifically PCOS. It works well though for PCOSers

  • i have PCOS too. this video is so inspiring! i need to lose the weight and hell yeah i'll do it!

  • I can relate to your situation. I went from 246 to 305 lbs in a rather short period of time. I admit some of it is because of poor diet and lack of exercise, but normally I would put on no more than 5-10 lbs until I lose weight again. But I gained almost 60 lbs between April 2007 and July 2008. The weight kept on climbing and climbing. I am 5'2" myself and I was morbidly obese. I have since lost some weight, but it has been quite slow and now I am diabetic.

  • Congrats on the loss - hoping to have similar luck! =)

  • Thanks for sharing your story. I can relate...only I am not loosing anything. :(

  • I'm very frustrated because I eat alot of fruits and veggies and I drink only water and honestly only have sweets on occasion but no matter how little I eat or how much I exercise, I ultimately end up gaining more weight. I'm 275 and 5'10. It's ridiculous. I never thought I could EVER be this heavy and I'm so disgusted with myself. What's even more frustrating is blood tests show I'm healthy other than being HUGE. Great nutrition, no diabetes, great cholesterol- everything. I hate it.

  • @ashoftomorrow i dont know if this will help you, but fruit has a LOT of sugar. sugaar is a carb. and since everyones bodies are different you might not be able to lose weight eating a lot of carbs. thats what i had to do. so just cut out carbs. you shouldnt eat more than 20 net carbs in a day. i hope this helps. when i changed this part of my diet, the weight flew off.

  • @ashoftomorrow: Have you tried taking Kelp in order to regulate your thyroid and boosting your metabolism? There many other herbs that will force your body to use store fats faster. Also is there a certain process food you crave?

  • @ashoftomorrow I seem to have the same issue...I exercised for years with a trainer, in groups, tennis 5-6 times a week...and I was on glucophage then Byetta and nuttin...

  • I have PCOS as well.. I am 22 and been married 4 yrs.. My husband and I have been trying for 4 yrs to get pregnant... Nothing yet.... Hopefully soon... Thanks for this vid

  • if u dont have reg periods

    im seeing a chiroprator.

mayb not having sex at the approperate times or frequency?

ur young enough not 2 worry too much :)

tech "infert" is 2 yrs of trying but if u dont cycle reg have to try that much harder.

if u dont care to know ur cycle..i dont :) , max. sperm count is every 2 days, boxers not tight underwear.

dont take THE PILL hoping 2 reg ur cycle as told by a MD during our marital classes.

u could try nat family planning

    dont worry keep trying :)

  • @markjv Heya, thanks for the advices.... Even at age 36, I still havent had the mommy bug. I dont really mind if I never get pregnant. Its just about the weight for me. I was on track for a good while then had a bad relationship and got off track. Im wondering if making more vids might get my ball rolling this next time around :)

  • @iqchip hi, well im 34 now things are going to have to wait. but health is important even for just yourself :) the quick fixes just make things worse w pcos: gastric bypass/etc, bc etc something to try is a pcos diet, like metabolism miracle i got on that a couple of yrs ago and lost weight easily ,it explains why reg diets dont work, its the only one weve been able to lose on.. its a met b diet so men can have it also ( not the pcos), it breaks all the reg diet rules which totally explains it.

  • this is so inspiring i lost 40 pounds and i have pcos. i want to lose more now :) i weigh 160.

  • good for you! this is an awesome story. just started metformin today and i know the downsides to pcos. its horrible. im going to start drinking lots of water, no fatty nasty foods, and doing pilates.

  • I'm 31 and was just told I have PCOS..Never had my period on my own..Just have gotten when on birthcontrol pills...Don't have health insurence and starting to panic...I don't know much about PCOS.I'm starting to read up about it online.Any advice and info will be greatly appricated.Great Video.

  • @ChicagoPolishHottie: There is a naturopathic list on the channel, it will be there for a few more days, then it will be removed - in order to replace it with the approach for antother condition.

  • PCOS here too.....very inspiring! I also believe there's something weird going on with Diet Coke

  • I think you're my hero! I'm so happy to hear that something can be done about the weight. I've been diagnosed with PCOS for almost eight years.

Every doctor looks at me like I'm on crack when I've explained how frustrated I am that I have trouble losing weight. They always have a "DUH, you have PCOS" attitude. It's good to know that weight loss really can happen! Thank you!

  • At one time, I was absolutely convinced that weight loss could definitely NOT happen. Then it flew off when I finally said "Who cares if I lose weight, Im gonna be healthy with or without weight loss, no ifs and's or butt's about it". I fixed my head, then my habits and the body just followed right along. Good luck to you and everyone else on here. Youll make it if you just give it 100% (or even 90%)!

  • this is sooo inspiring for me! i have it as well. and i've lost 35lbs so far. now i need to kick it up another notch. stay encouraged!

  • Good for you! Thanks for sharing your story...I have PCOS as well and have battled with weight loss/weight gain yo-yo (currently losing :-) and this gives me hope! I am sure you will reach your goals. Thanks again for sharing!

  • what kind of excersize routine do you do?

  • Currently I do 6 days/week of cardio and 2 days a week of strength training. So for 2 days out of the week, Im in the gym for 2 hours. Its all worth it though. The exercise has done more for me than just losing weights though. Im completely off antidepressants and I am so much more happy these days. I seem to be even more normal now without the antidepressants than I ever was when I was on them. Its strange but neat.

  • I think soda causes insulin resistance especially diet soda and they should study it more and warn people. Good for you keep going.

  • good going girl..

m trying to dechubbify myself with very little persistence..

the fact is that it affects different people differently.. so some may have a terrible time losing weight..while others may not have it half as bad.

  • first, you did a good job for your first video, shifty eyes and all, LOL! "how the hell did you lose 77 pounds?!" that's hilarious.

i sense a challenge. you've challenged me to do MORE. :D but damn, you go baby! YOU GO GIRL! and that sneaky laugh was hilarious, too! why not obsess over me? LOL.

plus, you're hot! love those eyebrows...:D

waiting for future vids from you.

    ~bracha

  • Thanks! I regretfully had them waxed this weekend at one of those spas with all the little asian ladies. I still dont know if I like it yet, but its wierd. Thankfully she didnt make them long skinny strips. Youll see when I get these next vids done. Not sure if Ill keep going to this place or not. Anyway, Im glad you like the vids :)

  • You go, Miss Sandra!!!
