  • Where has all the talent gone in music?

  • WOW! What amazing voice from Steve Perry~~!!

  • BEST SINGER EVER!!! enough said.

  • i wish i was born in this time!!!

  • These two are great blues players.Neil Schon turned down Derrick & the Domino's to play for Carlos Santana at age 17. Gregg Rollie is the voice of Black Magic Woman. Then in some bizarre mutiny, Schon tried to take Carlos' band away from him, Schon was fired. He & Rollie stuck together. When Gregg left, Journey's sound changed a lot.

  • wish was there!

  • i think that was the coolest blues jam i've ever heard in the beginning

  • clothes aside...these guys were amazing..too bad most people only know them by 3 or 4 songs that came later..the early stuff greg rolie on keys was the shit.

  • Doesn't get any better than this!! Steve Perry can sing , better than all the rest.

  • i just had a soundgasm.

  • Steve is unique no one can ever replace him in Journey no matter what Neal thinks.

  • what is there to say apart from amazing

  • AMAZING = JOURNEY

  • Perry and Schon were so good together. Too bad about their falling out.

  • Dear Lord! I really think that Steve Perry may just drive me crazy one day. Sexiest man on the planet hands down, and he doesn't even try.

  • AMEN! Steve Perry is coming out with a solo cd this year! THANK GOD!

They are also re-releasing the Greatest Hits CD here in the United States and the UK with Steve Perry as LEAD vocals ONLY! Sorry arnel fans! NOT! :)

    JOURNEY~STEVE PERRY ON!

  • @MAZorgJourneySPfan I wish it were true~ but I will belive it when I see it!!!

  • LOL@ 5:35 watch the lower right hand corner of the video...

Something pops up...is it going to attack Greg?

    LMAO too cute & funny.....

  • Ok Stevie...fess up ...@ 4:46 - 4:48 That smirk of his turns into a full blown (yea I remember what you did last nite ) laugh that he cant contain ...as he's looking specifically off to his side. Thats one of them lovers smirks...Great to see Stevie was having fun...

  • @daspudster01 - how cute is Steve in this video? Especially that smirk you mentioned. Yummy :)

  • @kazzz15 lol love it kazzz

  • Oh Yeah!

    Awesome song! Love the blues...

    JOURNEY~STEVE PERY ON!

  • I loved hearing Steve do call and response with Neal's guitar - wonderful! Reminds me of Ella Fitzgerald doing the same thing with the horn players in her bands. So nice. . . .

  • Love the audience. The act like they are at the Phil Harmonic! Classic!

  • call it what you want, I call it GOOD!.....old roller skating song

  • awesome video mariet 2... Thank you for sharing..

  • They lost this whole side to them when Gregg left.

  • HUH???

  • Aint that the truth!!

  • A wonderful song and the band is too.

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS~!!!

  • Call it what ever you want but it is a fantastic show of Steves ability to do anything he had wanted to in his prime and I just wish he had done more things like this bluesy one or some R&B covers I'd listen to him do Oklahoma or Phantom of the Opera even now! Heck I'd pay him to sing the ABC song to me! LOL

  • I loved there earlier albums with steve because they did a more bluesy feel which I adore.

  • Carlos taught Neal well.

  • steve the voice and great showman to the crowd is the true pure best vocalist in rock blues any music history in his prime

  • God, the things this man can do with his voice...incredible.

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm a Journey fan but this is not the Blues. It may be written with a blues progression but the blues? No.

Blues = John Lee Hooker, BB King, Robert Cray, Stevie Ray Vaughn

  • I agree. This is not true blues but it is a rock song with a blues feel. I love Journey and their integration of other musical styles. Journey rarely played pure rock, pure pop, or pure blues. They mixed and match styles, creating their own diverse sound that was Journey. :) That's the sign of a true musician - the ability to play multiple genres and the music still sound great.

  • So what? And why can't a "rock" band play a blues song? Why can't a "pop" or "metal" band play reggae, rock, blues, whatever?

Also, rock is influenced heavily by blues and rock is in some cases a logical progression following blues. So yeah, this is a blues song. And it's freakin awesome.

  • Point taken.

Yes, it is a great song, played by absolutely awsome musicians, and it definitely has a nice blues feel.

But, when you're looking to play some blues would you reach for a Journey album, or for the afore metioned artist in my previous post?

    Hey, I appreciate the banter.

    Take care.

  • Well he refers to his bandmates as two of the best blues players in the world, arguably of course, but no one is claiming that Journey's a blues band... meh. Music is music.

  • Agreed. Well put.

  • You should have kepts your mouth shut. Well, fingers off the keyboard...I don't know. You shouldn't have said anything about that. Because, yes, this song is a bluesy rock song. Journey may not be classified as a blues band but they are all very talented and versitile...Just like Led Zepp isn't a reggae band but have you heard their song Dyer Maker? So...yeah...just....don't even go there.

  • The play between Steve's voice and Neal's guitar is downright sexy...

  • WE LOVE YOU STEVE PERRY!!

  • mariet is this the concert the great green jeans pics are from that you posted at A site? Becca

  • Yes Becca! :)

  • I like this one too.

  • Would love to hear Steve sing solo!

  • if only I could have been there... gosh, i love that man. and this song is incredible. one of my favorites.

  • "I wish I could have seen Journey back then, but I was in diapers. lol"

Gee..that makes me feel older than dirt. LOL Since I DO remember them, went to 3 concerts..golly!

  • LOVE this!! The opening is spectacular!! The whole thing was excellent. I wish I could have seen Journey back then, but I was in diapers. lol

  • Oh how sexy SP is.

  • What a Jazz kick-out! These guys can play anything they want as long Steve Perry sings.Soul!

  • I love this version of this song. Gregg Rolie is the best on keyboards. Still wish he would have stayed with the band.

  • THIS is the journey that should have reformed in 96!

  • SEXYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! Great song! Thanks, mariet.

  • I get such a kick out of the audience there. I remember this one, and it sounds GREAT! Thanx mariet2 for more food.
