  • Theres a way easier way for that

  • Thats a lot of stuff i just had an adaptorand the hdmi cable thats it

  • ipad tablet doesnt even have a HDMI port? those no name chinese brands have hdmi... what a waste

  • I'm glad my Android tab plugs straight into hdmi out of the box.... ;-)

  • Hey guys,

I got a brand new black Ipad 2 32 GB with Wi-Fi and 3G. It is unlocked and comes with a one year Applecare warranty. I won this Ipad at a company banquet and don't need it cause i already have one. PayPal only, 350.00 OBO. If you are interested please email LNovack52 @ Yahoo.com

  • too many thing need to plug in

  • Apple makes a Digital AV Adapter that has a HDMI connector on it.

    Part number: MC953ZM/A

  • Is there any reason you can't just go directly from the iPad to HDMI, without going to VGA first?

  • @ronknights Not really, as long as you have an iPad to HDMI converter cable. That wasn't on the market at the time this video was produced.

  • @sewelldirect Thanks

  • Errmmm apple tv works easier :D

  • Too much work

  • Hang on... So you can only watch videos using the tv, but you can't see the menus and pages and keynote on the TV? Please help thanks. :)

  • @GiveMeAnthrax You can see the menus on the television if you have an Ipad 2, but not with the older Ipad 1.

  • @sewelldirect Ah ok, thanks, will buy a cable then. :)

  • get an apple tv

  • Well, Chinese people are always good at copying these gadgets, they are available on some sites at a affordable price.

Check this one : slickgate com

$39.99 + free shipping, I just placed the order and would let you know when it arrived.

  • did you not see the VGA port on the back of the TV itself...? the converter is an unnecessary junction that can potentially degrade image quailty.

  • @flyboy21141

    the demo is to show

    iPad to HDMI

  • can you stream netflix content with this set up from ipad to tv?

  • @Jkinsdale

    Yes, you can stream netflix.

  • @sewelldirect

So, it'll work with facetime itouch too, right!

  • @tnj7667 As long as the iTouch has an available iTouch to VGA adapter yes, this will work.

  • @sewelldirect

    Gotchya, thanks!

  • @tnj7667 The new Ipad 2, for HDMI you can simply get an adapter that will do this, so I would suggest getting one of those because this kind of connection you can only see videos on the screen, not applications.

  • what if you jailbreak your iPad and download Display Out from the Cydia Store?

would you then be able to play everything?

  • @Maxi86SZ That could very well work but, since it isn't an Apple sanctioned fix it isn't one we've tested extensively. I can't think of any reason that wouldn't work just fine and if it doesn't you're covered under our full 30 day return policy.

  • @Maxi86SZ yes and in full screen. plus it will show the springboard

  • thanks alot mate .. but im disappointed ;(

  • does it work with VLC player?

  • Does it work with the vlc player?

  • @kevin5758 We have not yet tested it with the VLC player, but it doesn't look like VLC supports TV out, so I don't think it will be compatible. If VLC adds TV out support in the future, there shouldn't be any issues.

  • so convenient! ;)

  • There is a way around all of this...you can now get CineXplayer and get torrent movies right off the net...put them right on to your ipad or iphone straight through itunes into this app on your device...then you can play any movie you want...you don't have to worry about DRM because you're not getting the movie from itunes directly...so it will not be blocked.

  • sound via hdmi

  • yeah! how about some mickey mouse club?!!? yeah you wanna watch mickey mouse club?! and it dosent play simpsons?! what a load of crap

  • @Loud0glbc It's called DRM - Fox doesn't want people playing their videos from the device to a television so they work with Apple to make it not work when you're trying to do that. Note that if you were just using the Apple iPad to VGA converter it also wouldn't work with any Simpson's episodes bought through itunes.

  • My god man, old school approach. You need the AirPlayer (DLNA server) application for iPad and then stream direct. Your Samsung has DLNA support built in and you'll get full resolution dependent upon the media on your iPad.

Seriously, who messes with cables in this age?

  • too much damn work.

Apple should just be smart and have a connector from iPad to HDMI.

  • Oh all those cables DLNA that's all I can say

  • Do not get the atlona vga to hdmi adapter. The iPad or iPhone 4 will not recognize VGA connection to it!

  • We have not tried to jail break our device. Im sorry that we cannot provide information on that scenario.

  • @sewelldirect Why not? Jailbreaking is legal now and there is nothing bad about it or do you work with Apple?

  • sorry I hit send by accident....I meant, have u tried to jailbreak ur device and used the cydia app called DisplayOut to mirror the exact image on the external monitor? When I try to play videos using the ipad dock connector, it lags horribly

  • Is there a noticeable difference between using straight vga vs. Using a hdmi converter? Thanks

  • @5botball The iPad outputs video through the VGA connection at 1024 x 768. The SW-9393 (VGA to HDMI converter) upscales that resolution to 720p (1280 x 720) we also have the SW-29073 which also does VGA to HDMI but upscales the image to 1080p (1920 x 1080). So with either of those VGA to HDMI converters you will get a better picture than just straight VGA and will make it so that the picture fills the full screen of the TV without stretching it funny.

  • U guys are awsome

  • So there's no dock port to hdmi adapter available?

  • @teknic111 We haven't yet found a direct connection from the iPad dock to HDMI

  • I have a 70 inch samsung tv. It has all connections. VGA, hdmi, composite, component. Which one should I get fornmaximum quality and maximum screen coverage. Thanks

  • @5botball HDMI

  • my laptop is connected to my 1080p 32" TV using just VGA...and it looks perfect at full 1080p.....is there some advantage to this convoluted system rather than just going straight to the VGA on the back of the TV ?

  • @BILLYBOBMANTARAY Yes but its dependent on what you are doing as to if it will make a big difference, for example my desktop is hooked into my 42inch 1080p because of the size the small artifacts from the vga cable are noticable, on a 32 inch you likely wont notice any difference. Also if I do a duel monitor setup one hdmi one vga the vga actually lags behind the hdmi. Colors seem more crisp on hdmi as well but there again it depends on what you are doing

  • @v6greenfbird95 thanx for the info...ya I'm just using it as a HTPC so I'm never really that close to the screen as you are using it as your monitor...good to know

  • @BILLYBOBMANTARAY If you can go direct (VGA to VGA in your case), then that will give you the best picture. This converter is for when VGA isn't an option (many TVs now no longer have VGA inputs).

  • With the update that came out yesterday for the Netflix app on the iPad it now supports video out which means it will work perfectly for this setup!
