I would suggest the clearest oil you can find, as it shall not contain many particles. I see that you have already taken the button module off. I would apply the oil very gently, a little at the time, beneath the d-pad. Maybe with a thin needle, or a toothpick. Hope it helps. I would like to hear if it works.
I think the issue is that the buttons are hitting each other or getting stuck on one another. I have the same phone and sometimes it does that. cheap keypad. Thats the only things that ruins this phone.
Nope, that's definitely not it for me. If I old the left d-pad button, then gently apply pressure on the left side of the right soft key/C button, you can feel the underlying material "stick" to the bottom. Then, when you let go and it comes back up, it's as if it's "pealing" itself off (because it's not sticky enough, perhaps?), and that's when you hear the sound. I can always just buy the $60 replacement button + keypad assembly, or wait until someone switches their parts to the black version.

have you tried dripping a bit of oil under the d-pad?
andy4102 4 years ago
Interesting idea. What kind of oil would I get? And I'd have to be super careful not to damage the circuit board and what not.

mine sometimes does that too, tell if if that oil thing or grease works. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
