  • lol i love try new things and thats why im here

  • Pouso perfeito, isso prova o quanto os pilotos da British Airways são excelentes!

    Parabéns!

Use the translate.google.com, from portuguese to your language!

  • We are the best pilots, sailors, drivers, etc etc.

  • There a number of similar videos on YouTube of an A380 doing crosswind testing at Keflavik Airport in Iceland. Test pilots make it look soooo easy :)

  • Now THATS a pilot!! Job well done captain!!

  • And thats why they are payed so much!

    Money well earned!

  • For those trying to claim this is Autoland. It is not. No pilot trusts a landing in such winds to the computer. Additionally, Autoland has a limit of 15 Knots. Autoland is for low visibility where a pilot cannot possibly see / know what is going on, it is NOT to make up for "inability". What is beautiful about this landing is that it was done entirely with passenger comfort in mind, you could do this with far less effort, but far less comfortably.

  • Why do they do that "crab" thing? Beautiful landing!

  • @outfromtheshadows if the airplane is straight with the runway on approach, and there is significant wind speed coming from a certain direction, it will blow the plane off course. so they steer into the wind, maintaining whatever speed they need to still be lined up with the runway so they can land safely

  • @kalahiki808 Ah yes, that makes sense....thankyou!!

  • holy shit that was nice

  • Very nicely done!

  • Perfection

  • Great job with that crosswind landing.

  • hihi I am always in the mood for some fun

  • Like a fucking boss

  • Sweet Lord! Great landing. Give the captain a hand... (applause)

  • I'd rather fly with a skilled pilot in control instead of a computer... any day!

  • Perfect landing even in tough condition.

  • Total Pro. Aerial Perfection.

  • LIKE A GLOVE!!

  • 22 pilots cant do that

  • Smooth and gentle.

  • and on the right you can see the runway!

  • hiya i need a man

  • Great pilot skills !

  • cracking pilot skill, great video good to see

  • impressive

  • I was landing in a crosswind @ RDU once and the plane was jumping around on approach. The landing was fine, but it was uncomfortable with all the bouncing around.

  • ey Cause life is a game...so let`s play it to the full

  • That was pretty

  • nice wheely great movie

  • Great execution for crosswind landing. I love the touch of just enough rudder to swing it back just before it sank down on to the runway. Now that is skill.....all the way! Superb.

  • Beauty, awesome landing/vid !

  • that has got to be the smoothest crosswind landing i've ever seen

  • Just beautiful!

  • so i am from uk

  • The last 5 seconds leading to the touchdown, is a joy to watch, for the pilots skill and sheer beauty of an awsome landing....

  • the 20 haters never been on a jombo jet they take a mini bus on holiday.

  • I was a flight engineer on the L-1011 Tristar and it's autopilot can land in a direct 50 knot crosswind just fine! It will crab in the approach and then transition at 150 AGL (called Align mode) into a wing low, crossed controls, landing. With strong crosswinds, this will require landing on one main gear first, then the other. The DC-10 and B-747 have a similar auto landing system. So, on these a/c at least, they do NOT land in a crab, which is extremely hard on the gear and is not recommended.

  • wrong...the auto pilots can land in a strong cross wind very well...

  • @rfresh1011 The autopilot will not however straighten the aircraft up prior to touchdown. It will land crabbed, and then straighten up after touchdown (as long as the autoland feature on the aircraft is rated to do so). The 737 autoland for example does not feature this, whereas the A32X autoland does.

  • Un vrai patron dans le pilotage. C'est excellent, et celui qui pretend dire, kil ne l'aime pas, ne connait rien en pilotage. En tout cas, BRAVO pour ce pilote!C'est merveilleuxxxxxxxxx

  • Got crosswinds?

  • Incredible landing. Bet the pilot was doing the Times crossword at the same time!

  • wow you would feel safe with that pilot

  • Makes you Proud to be british

  • Textbook crosswind landing.

  • Dang! That was really cool and scary! LOL!

  • wow!!!

  • Pilots mind: Rudder, rudder, okay, rudder, straight, rudder, here we go, oh, shit, shit, heres the runway, steady, rudder, shiiit shit shit shit fuck, reverse... Shit that was scary" Very well executed crosswind :-) Well done!

  • Yes, the BRITISH, ISRAELI and CANADIAN pilots considered to be the BEST in the world and they train pilots all over the world from other airlines.

  • @lovingee1 .........the British? well maybe, the Israeli`s? without a doubt!.....but Canadians???? lol, (sorry for laughing), i dont think so. Thats like saying the three fastest cars ever are the Lambogini, the Porche and a Volkswagon slugbug. lmao i needed a good laugh, thanks.

  • That was great! The plane was coming sideways but it landed straight onto the runway. Amazing landing!

  • Gawddammit what a pilot!!! Heartstopping stuff!

  • JEEZ!!! That's nasty. I don't know how the pilots get it to land without shooting off to the side!! Skill. Those guys deserve every bit of glory and salary they get!!

    Proud career...

  • the 19 haters want sucking up in the engines

  • bloody brilliant landing. looks like the pilot knows his stuff and is well trained.

  • Damng good landing.!

  • good pilot

  • algué conhece o comandante mike da virgin atlantic ele é iraquiano ????

  • @goulart780 'Iraquian' não é uma palavra em inglês :D Se dize 'from Iraq'.

  • some one meet the pilot mike work in virgin atlatic hear is iraquian ????

  • o vento é fodaaa!!!!

  • Whoa... What a perfect crab. Beautiful. Kudos to the pilot.

  • SKILL...

  • Thats an aviator flying that machine.

  • what a pilot

  • superb piloting, most impressive!

  • This is something autopilot can't do,only a skillful human pilot can.

  • what a landing! beautiful!!!

  • I bet that pilot got some awesome sex that night from all the stewardesses on board ;)

  • Extreme! Look AT The BEAUTY!! Absolute Beauty!

  • tricks

  • What a great pilot !!!!

  • Dam good pllot...

  • British are the best pilots.

  • @LukeNAESA10 Im british but just cause its a british plane does not mean to flown by a british guy/girl!

  • @chicogiz Of course the vast majority of BA flight crew are British. They're our national flag carrier; where do you think the pilots are from? BA aren't a cheap budget carrier like Ryanair, employing East European pilots on cheap rates!

  • @LukeNAESA10

And British Airways is still the best Airline. I fly them when I can.

  • This is the airline that landed the following year in Kuwait two hours after the Iraq invasion in order to land British undercover military operatives, risking the lives of over 350 passengers.

The same airline whose senior management threatened a British HIV positive passenger with arrest unless he left the relative security of the transit hotel in Kuwait to report to an Iraqi controlled hospital.

  • @4941acAc Your only saying that because Thai Airways sucks your mums balls

  • wonder how many other pilots can do that ??

  • The pilot is Mr. Bond.

  • pilots had to turn to say hello!!

  • Nice footage! Thanks!

  • TEXTBOOK

  • what? I don't get it!

  • sweetest landing ever. skills.

  • People in the right side if the plane is like: Hey, i can see the end of the runway!!

  • OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!

  • now THATS a pilot..

  • For a crosswind landing, it was just as smooth as a normal BA landing :P

Congrats to them BA Pilots (Y)

  • made it look easy

  • Nice landing, BA do have some fantastic pilots.

  • not only did he land it he rode a sick ass wheelie!

  • Man that pilot has skills!

  • this is a perfect landing!!!!

  • Pilots saying... "We dont have time for another go around... happy hour starts in 10 minutes!"

  • Smooth, beautiful timing!

  • That was Amazing

  • 16 people come from ireland!

  • Autoland highly unlikely here. We use it only under cat 2/3 conditions as long as the winds are within limits and ils protections are in place. I personally have only used autoland once in the last 6 months on the line. Landing could have been done here by the first officer or the captain depending on who's sector it is.

  • auto pilot

    not a big deal

  • @1975igabetaurus LOL, you forgot to switch on your auto brain.

  • the reason they landed its cause of the pilots balls of steel

  • @DCussen I hope the situation is entirely different in the UK, because in the US saying that will probably make you look like the most stupid ignorant cunt in the country.

    As in, Southern Redneck stupid.

  • @craniumkazzo It was a joke, dumbass. I live in the US. Relax.

  • @DCussen It sounded like a response to the UK's welfare and benefits system, and with 13 thumbs up, how can you tell? It wasn't exactly written satirically was it?

  • @DCussen great video/skilled pilot. DOCHEBAG comment.

  • @knotnelikeb4 I'm sorry you're a poor loser. Don't take it personally.

  • @DCussen ....not sure what I 'lost' at, but no matter.

Let me guess....I'd bet you're an alcoholic who hasn't drank in 5+ years. How did I know? I have a douchebag uncle that makes out of place comments such as yours. A jackass is a jackass....drunk or sobor.

  • @knotnelikeb4 I'm sure you're uncle would appreciate that. You're a real inspiration - have a great day!

  • @DCussen

When started FOX-News to trol aviation-videos on youtube?

  • I love how the BA pilots do it brilliantly then other airline pilots really balls it up!

  • I see this 10 times a day .. for the beauty of flying .. this is impressive :D

  • Poetry

  • Aproximação maravilhosa e pouso perfeito. Alguem me disse certa vez que no 747 vc não pode dar a asa para compensar o vento, tens que tocar atravessado mesmo.

    ccp

  • RESPECT.

  • thousands of hours practice right there !!!!!

  • Beautiful!

  • A silly question probally but this is all just rudder work right???

  • @aaronman6188 Lots of rudder but you also have to compensate for one wing facing the wind at a different angle, which creates more lift on one side - so there will be small aileron adjustments there too, whilst all the time making sure the wings are level, and the rate of descent and then flare angle are kept correct so thrust and elevator inputs possibly. A lot of work going on here, it looks easy but that's because it's a damn good pilot!

  • @tjf4375 is it okay for the back tyres landed that way ? how come the back tyres didnt broke off ?

  • @xNzzyz Well they don't really have the full weight of the aircraft on them when the aircraft is twisting to align, but the trucks on the main gear are engineered to cope easily with much worse than this - the inboard mains actually do steer when the aircraft is taxiing so they wouldn't mind a bit of twisting on touchdown. Somewhere on YT there's a video of a 747 landing at Kai Tak, after the pilot misjudged the final turn. It's a good demonstration of what 747 gear can withstand!

  • @xNzzyz the wheels are attached flexibly to all gear stands, that's a design for landings like this, so it's completely ok.

  • Surely among the best. When I see such skills of a BA pilot I always got confirmation why I love BA so much and their 747's. Nicely done PIC.

  • 15 people went with a helicopter

  • Brawo,brawo,brawo !!!

  • Excellent landing. Spoilers did deployed and reverse thrust applied so this is not a touch and go. Look carefully at 0:32 for the spoilers.

  • Subcribe to my channal, but you should be interested in planes and machines! it's worth to subcribe me and when you want it I subcribe you back ;-)

  • 15 people work for Virgin Atlantic

  • @sermon1000 but its british airways?

  • Thats the way its done, beautiful.

  • I would agree - nice touch, and it looks definitely like a "touch and go"; spoilers never deployed, and you could really hear the engines "spool up". Nice video.

  • @mmichaeldonavon This is not a touch n go, you can clearly see the reverse thrust in action and that's where the noise is coming from too, finally you can't see the spoilers because of the angle.

  • @mmichaeldonavon Nope, you can see the spoilers quite clearly. The engines also go reverse, just idle reverse. Note the slats stowing too. Full stop landing.

  • I thought the wheels would rip right off when it hit the ground! Last British Airways jet I was on.... I watched the pilot playing Sony PSP while he was landing, so I think pirochip is correct about auto land.

  • well to tell you the truth most pilots just use the auto land

  • @pirochip I agree

  • @pirochip Actually, for the 747, most airline have a rule that if the Crosswind is more than 10 Kts Tailwind and 10 Kts Crosswind then the plane will be landed Manually, this is obviously more than 10kt crosswind, so it is a Manual landing, Just takes a skilled captain with Years of experience, and also, pilots Very rarely use autoland

  • Very impressive, worthy of an applause!

  • Smooth and Perfect!

  • BEST crosswind landing ive ever seen.

  • Beautiful....like ballet.

  • 27R not L

  • now that is crabing an airplane!

  • And that Ladies and Gentlemen is how you do that!

  • I don't want to sound like a six-year old here but: MOTHER NATURE PWNED

  • Brilliant

  • Pax sitting down the right hand side of the aircraft will have had a great view of the runway on final.

  • I don't know what's wrong in this video that some people "DISLIKE" it. May be 15 people think they can do a better crosswind landing than this..... in a C172.

    I mean .... dude...its a B744...

  • @gladson777

really....what's to dislike? a beautiful airplane and a beautiful, perfectly executed landing....

  • Master landing with such a big bird

  • Pulling wheelies in a passenger plane - now that's just showing off!

  • @MixMasterRingo no, thats standard procedure hahahah

  • I LOVE British Airways!

  • air plane drifting. and why is it caps allways gets you thumbs up?

  • A brilliant landing, note the lack of smoke from the tyres, a very skilled and professional pilot!

  • any landing you can walk away from is a good landing........

  • Definitely the British pilots are the best of the world

  • B E A Utiful

  • Co Pilot: "Can I land it?"

    Pilot: "I guess."

    Co Pilot: "Yay. Watch this."

    *starts to go sideways*

Pilot: "Shit!! Your taking us in sideways!"

    *takes over*

Pilot: " You did a terrible job landing. Were lucky I took over otherwise we would have died."

  • @thatguy9654 Ha Ha, take it you fly? lol good one.

  • @Truimphful i did. not anymore. (i tried to land a plan but took it in sideways) jkjk

  • I suppose the passengers didn´t notice the crosswind!

  • smooth as silk....... good rudder control very level too!.... must have made him smile abit!

  • Comment removed

  • @vfrl7r

    LOL ;)

  • WOW the pilot has ALL my fucking respect!

  • I've been through many of these landings as a commercial passenger. The one closest to this one was 5 years ago, landing in Las Vegas. It was a Southwest flight, no less. The pilot's angle on approach was scaring many in the cabin. i knew what he was doing. He nailed it.

The cabin erupted with applause. The Captain came on as we were taxi-ing and said, "Piece of cake."

  • bravo!!!
