can somebody pls help me? i'm still looking for this different rendition of salve regina, apparently still unfortunate enough in finding it. pls if your are too kind enough to name all versions of salve regina posted here on youtube...
boah ich war schon seit der 4. klasse oda so nich mehr in der kirche :D damals hat mich ma jemand rausgeschickt weil ich evangelisch bin!freak?!naja is ja auch schon lange her :D:D
Great singing, MCS! Poulenc motets are never easy. Angular melodies abound, intonation always at issue, homogeneous and transluscent tones needed. Frequent rests treated as Luftpausen rather real breaths. But you folks pulled it off! I read once in an issue of the Choral Journal (2002?) that French Latin might be worth considering in performing Poulenc, Villete, Faure. A bit out of the box, but a fascinating possibility! Is that you conducting, Deo? Best regards -- Dr. Joel Navarro
Your comments are very much appreciated, Dr. Navarro. Yes, Deo was MCS' guest conductor on our last tour. Joel Aquino wasn't able to join us. All the best, sir.
This maybe true. But still the pronunciation of the vocal e is to wide (jesu, ...) But who cares about the tehnical stuff other then the judges...and latin freaks...It is very nice that there is some quality videos of choral music on you tube. Keep it coming and visit Slovenia some time...
maybe because we sang this in italian Latin which is closer to our native pronunciation than the german latin which most of the other competitors used.
Yes, great voices. But the latin is causing them some problems. We sang in the same competition and the jury did not like them. It is a difficult piece..
MCS stands for Manila Chamber Singers right? wow, nice voices, this is the first time I watched you guys in youtube. Keep on posting some performances!
