  • this so funny

  • It's sad, where is keith now?

  • How did it fly without a stabilizer? How did u do that hey u should put a gyro on the stabilizer because once it's unstable it will pop up try it

  • "You wanna take your $20 plane outta da way?" LOL

  • what is the thing in the back popping up

  • @howardflight09 A Vertical Stabilizer AKA TailFin

  • NASA was trying to stop you?

  • how much

  • Ground effect is a bitch when under low power.

  • 4:05 Sounds like a Parkzone T-28! ( :

  • 0:25 lol

  • nice day at the rose bowl

  • The original NASA X-36 was actually an "RC" : 1/6 scale of a contemporary fighter jet, operated by radio control, sensor in the cockpit, flown like a flight simulator operator watching the sensor input on a video screen.

Dave, think an RC plane, with a camera in the nose, can be flown like a flight simulator in that manner?

  • wow!

  • 4:22 rofl would you get that 20 doller plan out of the way omg lol

  • lol at 0:25

  • MAPLE SYRUP!!! Yum :D

  • Dave great vid as always.

  • man rc.s is so much fun, i cant wait till I am done with this crazy college work and exams..

  • you wanna take dat 20 dollar plane outta da way lol hilarious

  • why was there a canadian flag on the side of the plane?

  • he got stuff from a canadian guy...

he explains it in like the first minute of the video

  • Ow it wasn't my intension to link my video to this one, just wanted to show it to you. Thnx for leaving the messages, thought you would like it:) I'm now working on my next project, I'm aiming for a world first too. I really love your channel and the things you do. The modified Skyhawk, SU-35, X-36 and your plans for the F-35, just great!

  • the first crash was exactly what happens too me with my wings, if they get too fast they want to flex uncontrollably, EVEN WITH CARBON FIBER RODS!!!

so its like a plane with anhedral, it wants to be extremely unstable and crash. i am a poor kid and i dont have money for gyros!!!!.

  • how much plugging can you put into the beginning on that video :) dave pronounced youtube correctly at the end!

  • This is a very very nice plane.

The duckerons are used on the space shuttles rudder for breaking I think.

  • someone else is flying a plane to an 5:40-5:45

  • would adding gyros to the au 47 slow it down?

  • wow dave this is a really great project. you should try putting gyros on the su-47 since you said it would be really unstable

  • this

    could be a spy plane

  • hi anyone want to chat

    ANY GUYS UP? Lz

  • chat on youtube...lmao...are you kidding me?

  • Hi Dave, this is very, very interesting. Thanks for sharing your research work and thoughts! I'll keep on watching the progress!

  • mini winglets with controled rudders.

  • lol good one. glyguy3fun lol 20 dollar plane is still flying lol. nice work anyway. nice website to. keep it going man

  • hfcnjfg,j

  • and buddy is still flying "his" 20 dollar plane. So much for being cocky about your fellow flier.

  • HEY. Didnt U understand that, is was just a joke...?

  • @ flyguy4fun

  • You could even go with through tight spaces, like under a vehicle. That if you can fly well.

  • Loved the extra plug. Who knows when it might come in handy. Seriously, good work, Dave.

  • It would be neat to see a gyro stabilized foam X-48 Blended Wing Body. Making the body might be a little tricky however. XP

  • wow cool you must love your Tailless RC X-36

  • cool! ;)

  • subscribe rcpowers to rctrains

  • no I never sub anyone who spams no exceptions

  • I did have a suggestion though, see what you think about it. I know your using props to propel right now but what if you went ahead and made the inlet ducts. Make them as if you was using fan units and run them along the fuse as in the full scale or the 1/4 model. The long tubular inlets would channel air inside and out the rear. I think if the air was channeling inside it may help lock the plane in a straight line and help reduce unwanted movements at higher speeds. If my idea makes any senselol

  • Wow nice work. Being a flyer myself I find this plane very interesting and like how your experimenting with your model, reminds me of myself.

  • Are you going to have videos in HD?

  • Let's hope so!!

  • your an inspiration, i think i should do something similar, maybe RC cars :D

  • Congrats dude, been following this, really good stuff ;-)

  • what type of foam do you recommend for newbie scratch builders?

  • I use, like and recommend 6mm depron. Its easy to work with and repair. I get mine from ww.RCFoam

  • ok thanks

  • @RCSuperPowers Can i Use 5mm Depron ?

  • Thanx for the last reply Dave! one last question? Are you flying with the Old "DX6" Spektrum radio??????? I regret selling my old DX6 for my new DX6i :(

  • Yes, I have the original DX6

  • is dave wearing valcrow shoes?

  • ya he is

  • lol wow

  • haa if this plane gets too "soft" and gets old and you shoot it with your airsoft gun while it flys, itll probably stay up in the air longer than the other planes cuz it can take alot of damage.

  • Yeah they really can. This one is about done, Im pulling all the parts off it to make the new one soon. It will be just an old foam shell.

  • WOAH at 5:23 another rc plane passes right in front of your plane and looks like it nearly collides!

  • yeah! tht was one close call

  • plane boner:p

  • he kinda looks like sylar from heroes.

  • make like 30 minute vids, lol that would be awesome

  • woot! Canada!

  • Nice plane dave.

  • The "duckerons" are very similar to the wingtip brakes of a A10. One of these days, the camerawoman needs to make an appearance. She's pretty hep on what's going on with the planes besides being a good camera-person.

  • perhaps you can watch more RCP videos, she has appeared. ;)

  • I just recently discovered these guys and started watching some of their older clips. I had a feeling she may have been in past ones. She's pretty smart and witty so I think she needs to be in front of the camera more as part of the team.

  • Dave is the coolest dude on youtube, and best rc pilot ! 5++

  • nice stuff dave. You got me into rc planes from your videos. Thanks alot, you made me poor.

    Torn

  • woah, did i see vectored thrust?

    sweet!

  • Hey Dave, congratulations on a true historic achievement! I guess when the Depron (or whatever it's called:p) wears out and gets soft, you could donate it to a museum or something (maybe the EAA's museum in Oskosh)

  • good job dave, i myslef am impressed

which is not easy to do

  • So 11 servos + 1 extra ;^)

  • How many batteries are you using?

What motor from Graysonhobby are you using?

  • why the f do u think he'll tell u all that?

  • Nice work again!

I'm trying to decide if I'm more impressed with the aerodynamic work or your ability keep all the wiring straight and hooked up to the right things. :)

  • Thanks Dave/Val

  • Awesome dude!

  • what is a gyro if u dnt mind me asking dave?

  • i think the back ruders are to sensitive you defently get that gyro working on thoes wings abd by the way that plane is so amazing i dont know how it could even fly well nice work.

  • i love your videos lol

im gonna make me one of those lol

  • once you have this all dialed in and you perfected the design, you HAVE to make pdf plans for this! i need to get one of these

  • i'm really happy that the project was so much better than expected and if you sell it in the future on your site i hope they literaly "FLY" off the shelves.

  • Can You Make a Rc Lifting Body plane Or a plane that can go super sonic. Plus you could also make a plane that has very small but powerful -Real- JET ENGINES. Say a su-47 berkut gone big'n fast. Or for that matter the avro aero which was the first plane to ever use flyby wire. That was actualy canadian made 10years before the americans managed to make it so can you do it

  • Dude this is kool but if you want real speed go for nitro planes

  • True, no place to fly them around here and they take much longer to build that foam and electric too.

  • Dave can you make a video that shows how you program a gyro to work in conjunction with the servos.

    Thanks in advance

  • Ya know, I get ax'ed that alot, I think I will in a couple weeks.

  • That would be great, you know most of us start with RTF packages and because of your videos we have started to build our own but when it comes to the electrical and programing that might be out of most or our leagues hence why we watch you and learn. With the knowledge it then also forces us to buy more of your products : )

  • Ahaha, All ways just "one more flight" aha! My mate is getting into RC planes and he bought one of those Hobby Zone Trainers, he landed it and he said to me "one more flight?" I smirked and said "Yea why the hell not..." You all can guess what happend ;) Dave your website rocks! Thanks for another entertaining vid!

  • Ha! Oh thats funny! I love how the same wackiness happens at RC fields all over the world. Its universal.

  • Question: do you guys ever have any midair collisions? lol because i see all these other planes flying around...

  • Yeah, there is a fast flying guy there that always gets in the way, makes me scared.

  • dave, tailless aircraft dont do good at high and low,

  • Dave that plane is so good and i love maple syrup it flys really good or your really good at flying but it still is very very impressive dave (And The Rest Of You Guys) you are very very cool!!!!!

  • Dave I think you deserve a nicer transmitter

  • Yeah, I got to get a 7 or 8 ch with one of those dial knob things for when I make the F-35. I need to be able to rotate and stop the motors wherever I want.

  • this is the most brilliant vid on a rc plane evr hey but y did u put a canadian flag on it?

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • ummm dave it looks like you have two recievers. or is one a mixer???

  • There is 2 receivers, 2 motor, 2 batts, 2 ESCs, 1 or 2 on board mixers as well. 2 servos is to help support the 10-14 servos needed. Just easier on the electronics to spread things out.

  • how can u control 2 recievers at once??and how does 2 servos support the 10-14 batteries?? just wondering cause this is mindblowing.

  • I really like this project! This has to be the best one I've seen from you guys. NICE WORK!!

  • Sweet video!

  • CAN YOU GUYS DO A VID ON THE F-35

  • "oh, tape will fix that!"

  • Good work

  • thats all we are?

  • YA CANADA!

  • HELL YA!

  • nice!

  • thats awesome

  • lol it is a $20 plane but the radio and stuff is worth way more

  • and all the man hours Dave put into designing it...Priceless!

Also, Good job on the video Val.

  • Dave i still can't get over how good that idea is with the gyros & keep up the good work & cool idea :)

  • the new design is much smarter and more stable.

put that plan out for sell already!! better with complete pack

  • Very cool!

  • awesome vid! :-)

  • Nice video. Do you never have winter and show in your home ? ;-)

  • lol 1 hour ago was saterday morning? its 1:30am here lol. Its sunday.

  • Thanks for the mention! Great Vid.

    Johnny Mulikow

  • Thanks for the cool Canadian stuff!

  • haha.

    very nice.

  • nice vid

    and auch!!! for the crash

  • yay 7th comment!

  • 6th comment!!

  • Dave you the man,i still can't get over how good that idea is with the gyros is man, another great video mate 5*

  • Thanks! It just leads me to do even more with them since every test with gyros is big success.

  • wow u had a prity big crowd =)

  • Another great video guys, great commentary. The plane, well it's just awesome.

  • RC history! :D

  • you guys are awsome!!!!!!!!

  • Very cool!! and First! LOL
