I heard it once like in the Summer in July i got up early in the morning and all of the sudden i heard a siren and BOOM powers out everywhere and i was taking a shower then the trees started 2 fall in front of the house :-(. Then the carwash got hit by a tornado,powerlines down,and no singal on my phone and i'm like "Wut no singal on my phone" Bad day of my life

Here in california(westcheter to be exct) ive only seen 2 sirens in the area,one about 5 bloks from my house and the other in downtown LA right by a movie theatre(dont know the name but premires show there and its expensive)and i guess they tried to blend it because it looks lik a flower pointing upword high off the ground and the siren on top of it. Ive never heard one go of and in a weird way wih i did but i dnt ever in my life want to because in cali the only terrible things is #1 earthquake

No, it's scary because it's a warning that a TORNADO is coming your way, and speaking as someone who was trapped helpless in my basement while my house shook and the lights went out with a funnel cloud about to come down right in my back yard, that's scary enough by itself.

you could just head to the South or Southwest on the first wednesday of the month - mandated testing of all sirens on that day

and let me tell you, they are pretty sounding and fun but when you wake up at 4 in the morning to this and you spend a couple hours in your bathtub with you boots on and a blanket over your head - they tend to lose a lil of their mystique

In Minneapolis we have monthly practice warnings at 1:00 pm on Wednesdays. I was in my german class with a new TA exchange student from Germany when the sirens went off. He had no idea what was going on and thought it was an actual alarm. That was great.

I think they should switch this to be a tornado alarm cause trust me I'd rather be bombed by 10 air strikes than hit by an F5 for like an hour straight... and this suits a tornado better than an air raid but you can hear this song while the wind is blowing in your face and all that tornado drill shit going on.

I have these loud ass speakers (I'm talking about DJ speakers) that I hid in some bushes in the middle of my neighborhood and I played this siren... Within like 20 seconds the driveways were flooded with scared pedestrians screaming and running around. I should've known it wasn't a funny joke because the cops came and lucky I managed to turn it off before the cops finally around to the area. It was funny to me. I can do evil things, you'd hate to be my neighbor.

@NFLization I have done the same thing at my old apartment (I built my own circuit with a 556 timer). Every one in the building went from noisy as hell to dead silent in 30 seconds. I played it for half an hour and no one knew the difference. Greatest prank ever!
