Invading a country to deter a possible attack or invasion is not an acceptable reason within the US statutes to invade a country.

Bush needs to be held accountable to the US Constitution, which clearly states that any treaty signed by the US becomes part of US law, with the US having responsibility to back up the treaty they signed.
The US invaded Iraq anyway. That was a war of Aggression. In the UN statutes, a war of Aggression is an illegal act. Any country that does a war of Aggression is committing war crimes. All leaders, and military persons, are guilty of war crimes by taking part in a war of aggression, as it clearly states in the UN treaty that simply following orders does not make the soldier immune to the UN statutes against those that perform wars of Aggression.
The UN Council, the representatives of each member nation, voted not to invade Iraq. The US did so anyway. Because they did not have a majority, the US legally could not invade Iraq, as the US had signed the UN treaty. Signing the UN treaty makes that treaty part of US law, by the laws of the Constitution.
Intelligence from 3 sovereign nations including the UN feared that Iraq had WMD. And, at least 80% of the people supported Bush going into Iraq.
President Bush's duty is to protect the American people, and can only make decisions based on what official information he has available.

Invading a country to deter a possible attack or invasion is not an acceptable reason within the US statutes to invade a country.
Bush also had many, many other breaks with the UN treaty that the US had signed, thereby making the UN statues part of US law, as stated within the Constitution.
Bush needs to be held accountable to the US Constitution, which clearly states that any treaty signed by the US becomes part of US law, with the US having responsibility to back up the treaty they signed.

The US invaded Iraq anyway. That was a war of Aggression. In the UN statutes, a war of Aggression is an illegal act. Any country that does a war of Aggression is committing war crimes. All leaders, and military persons, are guilty of war crimes by taking part in a war of aggression, as it clearly states in the UN treaty that simply following orders does not make the soldier immune to the UN statutes against those that perform wars of Aggression.

The UN Council, the representatives of each member nation, voted not to invade Iraq. The US did so anyway. Because they did not have a majority, the US legally could not invade Iraq, as the US had signed the UN treaty. Signing the UN treaty makes that treaty part of US law, by the laws of the Constitution.

President Bush's duty is to protect the American people, and can only make decisions based on what official information he has available.

Tough decisions aside, Bush and his administration broke the law and are guilty of war crimes. Bush has not only the duty to protect the American people, but to follow its laws and the treaties the country has signed.
I know it sucks to think that the US and its military are actually war criminals for invading Iraq, and many will renounce this single statement I'm sure, but facts are facts. Separate your emotion from the discussion and you shall see how and why they are war criminals.

Al Queda were never in Iraq. As for keeping the people of Iraq safe, more than 600,000 Iraq people lost their lives as of 2007 due to the war.
Waterboarding, as it is torture, is illegal and is a war crime. Those that allow it and perform it are guilty of being war criminals. This is a simple truth based upon the treaty the US signed with the UN, which makes the UN statues, by the US Constitution, US law.
