some people put things like little shrimp in with them but they will eventually become axolotl food.

i've heard of some getting out and hiding under couches and being found a few hours later. so yes i guess.

15-20 years if you take proper care of them

Axolotls should be kept only with other axolotls. Anything you put in with them will either get eaten or eat/harm them.
