The Dixie Dregs were an instrumental band from the 70's and early 80's led by Steve Morse on guitar. Steve is now the guitarist for Deep Purple. The Dregs had Rod Morganstern on drums, Andy West on bass, T. Lavits on keyboards (Mark Parrish on early recordings), and Allen Sloan on violin (Mark O'Connor on last recording). They combined classical concepts, southern rock, jazz, bluegrass, and celtic. Ground breaking stuff. 20th century electronic chamber music for rock ensemble and violin.
