I love Flaming Lips but I don't like the way this album was recorded, overdriven to the max. Sorry, but you overshot, guys.

It doesn't sound old, it just sound bad. Like a a bootleg recording.

It just makes the sound range poorer.

It's called distortion, it's an audio effect, makes the music sound older, I think it fits this song perfectly!
