The Brazil love IGGY POP!! The best, the best...ever...ever.ever...one more IGGY POP in my life please! Iggy Pop,The Real King of underground!! YEEEAAAHHH!!!
...GUTO FROM BRAZIL...endless,and,man,sand,insane man,aaahhhnnn...Jungle man...YYYEEEAAAHHH!!!
Oh man this brings back so many mems. Gettin high in the mornin in my friends basement and then droppin acid before goin to highschool..... Aaaahhhh, I wish my body could still handle the abuse I continue to inflict upon it.... Later all, gotta run now, the bong water needs changin....
Remember this one Rollie? What the fuck was a cabinet maker doing down a coal mine anyway? Fuckhead. You are never forgotten. We played this Waikuku beach. August '84. I would have liked to have seen you again.
So great to share appreciation of this song & album with all of you people. This was the first Iggy I knew, as a teen -- it was the 80s, and you couldn't get the Stooges albums, they were all owned by collectors, out-of-print, nor was it easy to find Lust for Life or The Idiot. However, I did get a copy of New Values and Zombie Birdhouse. That was the soundtrack of my youth! Zobmie Birdhouse is very mixed, but some of the songs are among Iggy's best solo work!
@axlelford That is you doing the backup? That is quality man. New Values, Party and Soldier have to be the top Iggy albs for me. So tell me, is that Russell Johnson playing the lead guitar on this album? reading an older interview on musicdish atm of you talking about The Deepest Blue ... good stuff
what must I do to take a holiday , show me a bill that they can make me pay, maybe I am just a lucky guy, standing in my show, the lights aint low , theyr shining down on me, what did they do to take the joy away, hmm is this a good text, hmm , no.
@MrSkidrowJoe well its not so bad lyrics , i guess it takes getting used to, i was hearing it for the first time when i wrote the comment. its a typical i p lyric and i like some.
@orangestoneface text? it's lyrics you fucking oaf. you combine them with a melody, to like, make songs and stuff. not as easy as a talentless bozo such as yourself might think.
It's either James Williamson or Scott Thurston singing. They both sang backing vocals on this album. Williamson said Thurston played most of the guitar parts.
thanks for posting this song, I love the stuff Iggy was doing at this point in his career , i believe that this era was good for Iggy because he was benefitting and putting into practice what he learned from prior tutelage thanks to Bowie, like surrounding yourself with competent bandmates.I dont like to slag but things went for a shit when he hooked up with jones ex pistol, he couldnt play any of this stuff.
