  • where can u buy theatrical photo gel from??

  • where do you buy the leds?

  • does this really work

  • ok, now i've read all 377 comments and i still don't get it xD

OK, now the naked human eye can see all normal lights and UV light.

Then i put the glasses on, they filter out all the normal light, but leaves IR and UV. What's left? UV...

but how do they make me see IR light?

does the Gel, filter out all normal lights and filter in IR?

    Can someone explain? :D

  • ha fuck this i getting MF2 Military Grade Night-vision Goggles.

  • haha, to do what? Sit in your room in the dark?

  • if you are where are you geting them from if it a site can you leave me a msg with the link

btw this is a reply to LiwamGeebon

  • there not military grade, they are the same quality as the ones at walmart. do some research

  • do the glasses need to have uv protection because i have safty glasses without uv protection

  • is it working? :P

  • Okay.

You can see the six IR lights in this video because Video Cameras pick up on IR light. The human eye CANNOT, without some sort of aid. The same result can be done by putting damaged film negatives over a electonic camera, and adding LED's.

  • anyone know wear i can get some real ones under seventy five buks

    good ones?

  • I don't get it.. if you can see in the dark and they cant see you why can't they see you if those LED is brightly lit in the dark???

  • Human eyes can't see infrared light

  • led's are only visible by cameras but not humans

  • yeah that's true only cameras can see infared people cant see infa red.

  • you dont need those eyglassses or night vision gogles, just eat fruit as daily servings, now EAT ALOT of carrots because its good for your eyes, if you havnt noticed, people in Irag have night vision without goggles but they do not hav supplies to fight war, but people remember, all this is true, google it if you dont belive me.

  • rofl it helps to a degree that is hardly noticeable, you'd find if u had night vision goggles it'd be alot brighter. too be honest im gonna get moder warfare 2 nvg

  • you are right, and also my cousin is getting the modern warfare 2 goggles, we are fans but yea

  • look like stupid

  • where do u get led's and gels?

  • ebay

  • this does work cuz the wavelength of the colrs red and blue allow you to see small amounts of infrared light , obviously not enough to see in the dark but but combined with the leds it allows u to see the ir light reflected on other objects allowing u to kinda see in the dark .

  • Funny how We're able to see the light from the LEDs especially when they're supposed to be invisible!!

  • cameras can see it, naked eye can't

  • You idiots this, will not work! the human eye can not see infra red light. furthermore why would you use the red and blue sheets to block out visible light IN THE DARK!

"the gels allow you to see the infra red light from the LEDs"

    Bull sh*t.

only on a bright sunny day will there be enough infra red light for you to be able to see. The human eye can barely see infra red light.

THIS WILL NOT WORK! WHY DOES THIS VIDEO HAVE FOUR STARS?

  • The red and blue ombined make an ir pass you muppet learn your stuff before commenting it will work but you wont be able to see far.

  • lol muppet

  • The gels block visible light and pass ir light. That is the definition of ir pass. you're the one with cotton for a brain.

furthermore if you had a ir light bright enough for the human eye to be able to see, every one else would also see. Then you might as well use a flash light.

Hey props on the "muppet" thing

  • Similar project without the ultraviolet protection or the LEDs can be found here:

    /watch?v=H2-nP2xl9Zg&NR=1&feature=fvwp

  • example materials:

eBay: "Apollo Concert Gel Pack for Stage Theatrical Lighting"

ebay: "Wayfarer Clear Lens Olive Glasses Sunglasses Retro SK"

  • Radio Shack has INFRARED LEDs (which you can't see with your naked eyes) for $2 each. Model: 276-143 - "A high-performance infrared emitter whose peak wavelength is 940nm. These high-output infrared LEDs are a perfect light source for various kinds of security systems that need higher radiation. They also can be used in products ranging from TV remotes and auto-focus cameras to electronic gates."

  • how far can you sse in dark ness with them?

  • 0 FEET!

watch kip kay's video "how to see in the dark"

  • you cant, it will not work

  • why can't you go out in the night

  • You dont stand out in the night, meaning, people wont see you, your not visible to other people.

  • where do you get the info red led lights from?

  • You know the tips of your remotes, with the sensory thing the red light at the top, them

  • great now I just gotta go to the dump and find some remotes

  • You can buy them from an electrical shop, tech shop, something like that.

  • gay

  • this does not really work does it?

  • u can be seen because of the 6 lights stapped to your fucking head

  • rofl boom headshot!

  • Those 6 leds are infrared so human eye cannot see them

  • .... you can only see it in the video because video cameras are sensitive enough to pick up IR radiation. Without them, you'd not see them.

  • what are ytou trying to say? please tell a bit more detail.

  • I'm guessing you dont know what infrared means.

  • i can see the light at the front of the tv remote, its quite easy to see, its very faint so therefor most miss that red shot, look closely next time you try it

  • hahaahah nice

  • 0:58 crreeeeeeeeeep

  • lmao exactly what I was thinking

  • lol u are like kipkay XD

  • if it aint broke dont fix it! XD

  • Very cool.

  • to save me wasting 5 quid can anyone say for sure wether this works?

  • The filters block blue and red light, leaving you with the infrared specturm. THe light from the LEDs will only be viewable through an infrared camera, or an infrared filter (which is what you make one the sunglasses.

  • Yes someone please stop this debate.

has anyone made a working pair of these?

has anyone made a not working pair of these?

  • this simple wont work All this will do is filter out visible light, leaving you a black sheet of paper to stare at, however if you had a camera or somthing without a IR filter and stuck this to it then it would work

  • the gels filter light in such a way only the IR LED wavelength is visible. You were right about one thing, its just black when you first put it on, but with the LED's on it works, but not perfect...low range. might be able to overcome this by adding LED's or raising the intensity (bigger battery).

  • Better yet, bigger LEDs.

  • OMG ROFL hes just sticking a torch on a pair of glasses and saying dere sun glasses!!!!

  • you dont see the infared LED's in person u can only see them beacuse the camera picks it up

  • you fail

  • wait, are those lightbulbs or does it only do that in the camera?

  • just on the camera, they are infrared, not visible light

  • wow, nice work

  • Is cellopane good for alternative in photo gels?

  • i dont think this is true but im not sure. Ive tryed this before and 6 LED's are not enough to see that much..

  • Comment removed

  • it doesn't work. the ir works on my web cam only if you have the infrared led use it with ur cellphone the camera in your cell will see the ir led

  • They can see yoour infrared lihts :D

  • the light from "infrared"leds was not contain infrared light only; and the light you see was not "infrared"light but red light that very close to infrared wavelength , which gives out from the leds and passes through the low pass lence

  • where can i buy those gel?

  • radio shack a maybe?

  • This does not work, to see IR light you would need a camera, your eyes cannot see it.

  • Thats why he installs those red and blue gel pieces on his glasses lens.

  • What an Idiot, Those gels are used to see the IR lights... Better keep your mouth shut...

  • i dont get you? IR are how NVG's work.

  • What the hell? Human eye cant see IR light; glasses with ir-PASS wont make one miracously see it.

    What a load of bull

  • hey dont u see that they r using phoytographic gels . I also didnt believe it first but then i saw another

video " Infrared Goggle Hack For Under $10!! " it explains how to see infrared light by using the photo gels in a particular ratio .if u the combine 4 blue and 1 red u can see IR light

  • Dude... visable light = 400-700 nm; infrared = 750+ nm; now tell me how can some homemade lenses make you see infrared if your eye cant?

Just read a little bit on how nightvision goggles work, it should clear things up for you

  • in fact he's correct. you're wrong.

  • fuck... its useless..... use it in the dark u might end up fucking your dog

  • hahahahah! .. nice one!

  • ovviamente e' una stronzata dato che fanno vedere tramite telecamera (non IR) con i led ir accesi

tanto x capirci tutte le telecamere al buio con dei led infrarossi vedono

  • As said, this will not work. You are removing some of the spectrum of light... But not enabling the person to see more of it. We cannot see infrared, so you would have to use a digital converter such as a camera to be able to see in the dark like this.

  • I tried it out. When I switch one LED on I dont see anything. If I take the filters in front of my eyes I see nothing at all (no I don't see the LED). If I put the camera in front of the LED I see that it's glowing. If I put the light filters in front of the cam all is filtered except the IR light.

So to make this glasses work you'd need to put a cam in front of your eyes, then the glasses. But that'd be real nightvision and you'd be cheaper to buy real nightvision googles, lol.

  • DUDE ! SUPER COOL:)

  • Human eyes can not see IR. If the glasses filter out all light except for IR, all you would see is black. The video camera that is being used to make this video is sensitive to IR. That's why you can see. Night vision units convert infared into light you can see. These glasses don't.

  • were can i get all the product needed to make this? and how far can u see?

And also do u think it would be posible to mount this system on a scope for night time piant ball skirmish?

  • There is a mistake in your video, it says you need 8 high-intensity LEDs. You only use 6 lol.

  • looking into the sun would badly mess up your eyes while wearing these but what about random bright objects like lights and stuff? also wont those IR rays bad for your eyes anyway? jus wanna clearify before i build em

  • Comment removed

  • wat about other bright objects like lights?

  • Can someone send me a messege telling me where to get everything needed for this project?

  • Comment removed

  • That doesent work becaus eyes cant see ir light

  • yes it does because you can see it,but because you see all thecolours of the light you arenot aware of it.but with the red and blue you filter it so you actually can see it;)

  • i just eat my carrots

  • wher do u get the L E D lights from

  • where do u get the blue and red sheet

  • It's not bright white LEDs, it's bright infra red LEDs

  • They are infared so they cant be seen to the naked eyebut through a camera or those sheets they can

  • It does work but u need a couple more sheets of the filters, to fileter the IR light

  • I dont understand who pays you to spread bullshit misinformation about something that doesn't work just like houseeholdhacker your a fucking asshole faker

  • FYI: It will work. Those gels filter out everything but Infared light, which is invisible to the naked eye. You can see it, no one else. Same way real night vision works.

  • Comment removed

  • hmm the LED are about 2 for 7 USD and u need 6 of them hmm

thats about 21 USD over ten bucks gone

  • you can salvage them from old remotes... so in a way.... you just need to buy $5 sunglasses, and spend

45 dollars on two button bateries..

  • Yeah i'm in the same boat... i tried this shit too and it didn't work. Waste of money. To whoever the dumbass is that made this video... you suck the big one.

And for any smartass who wants to go say i "did it wrong"... it's kind of idiot proof. I got the exact colours and infrared LED's and it doesn't work!

The most you can do is make infrared with the blue and red filters which can only be used in broad daylight. Other than that, it's a useless piece of shit.

  • yeah ive been trying this with all the recomended materials except for high intencity infered leds and its not working I looked through them at my t.v remote which i am positive uses a infered led and it still didnt work. Hopefuly it will work with the high intensity ones i ordered from radio shack... I will post again to let you guys know.

  • you probally did it wrong did you use infared LED"S or just led's theres a big difference

  • This project is bullshit I spent 10 bucks on this and there is no way it works DO NOT MAKE THIS

  • I think I should contact myth busters to bust yo ass!

  • i don wanna try sumthin tat i saw on the internet..fuckin sr=crew my eyes

  • Comment removed

  • yeah where can i get that gel stuff?

  • you can get it at photo supply stores.. I know glazzers in seattle carries them if you live in or near seattle thats wear i got mine,

  • Where To buy this fuckin congo gel ??

  • i think people would still notice that

  • bullshit. the colored plastic shit will only filter light, not upconvert IR light into visible light.

  • wow this video seems pretty skethcy... I mean look at the guy you see in the first scean. I want to try this but i want to know if anyones accually done it and if so how well did they work. I have everything I need but the photo gels and finding some is proving to be a pain in the ass.

  • you asked if this sun glasses work.... yes. the photo gels actually alow you to see the light that the led lets off. P.s to make like twice the strength than add isoble fiol paper and circle it behind it. itll work like a flashlight alittle. i can see twice the length now.

  • I do not know if the filters would work as stated. It seems theoretically possible to make something like this without digital imaging equipment. The trick would be to CONVERT the infrared light through several different Chemical Combination which for all I know may be present in these gels.

  • gosh everyone here is acting all suprised it works because the gells act like a filter and infared is all you see DUHH

  • I dont want to get into the arguement about why it does or doesn't work, but I have built this exaclty like the video shows, and it will not work with the naked eye. period. is there something not stated in the video that i need to know about?

  • how far can you see with them in the dark??

  • Please add to your video that IF YOU LOOK INTO THE SUN YOU'LL BURN YOUR CORNIA AND BE INSTANTEOUSLY BLINDED! These sheets that you put on the sunglasses will cause this burn.

  • "INTO THE SUN " not in to the night

  • Bull shit

  • What if you dont have a saudering iron?

  • you're an idiot, you it's no different than using a flash light

  • A Filter removes certain wavelengths of light that pass through it. It is true that with the red and blue filters, only IR can pass through. However, given that you cannot see the IR light to begin with, no filter will allow you to see it.

All the filters do is remove visible light, so if you can't see it before, and then you remove part of the light, you still can't see it!!!

  • Your awesome cause your absolutely correct

  • with or without uv protction i didnt understand that?

  • LOL ... it's a infrared LED ... not a ordinary LED ... so it cant be seen be seen with clear human eye... trry doing this... start any digital camera and point to any remote control.. .to the infrared LED part... and push any key on the remote... and u will see.. that with dig. camera it is possible... and i think with this is too...

  • Bhahahaha what a bunch of retards! NO HUMAN can see IR-light, you need a CAMERA to see IR!! this video is a dumb joke.

  • that's why u use those red and blue things... tard... -.-

  • What? You think they are filled with magic fairy-dust or something? IT DOESN'T WORK.

  • lol, no... i dont wanna argue... but I think it can be done.... tho we already know any digital camera can do it :P ..

  • because of how it filters the light

  • infra red is just a part of light.

when you filter lights you can see the part called infra red.

just pay more atention at school

  • your calling them tards? seriously? cause what you know about light and photons couldn't fill a post-it.

  • Thats just silly you aint gonna see shit even if you place 2 color filters we will never be able to see infrared light with a naked eye.

  • R U stupid... the red and blue gells act as an IR pass filter, and it can see infrared light... so the infrared LEDs light the way.

  • Are you questioning my knowledge? I have been working with night visions and i know whats right. Your the one just being silly. The range of visible light to the human eye is 400-700 nm. Infrared LEDs emit light at around 850 nm; in any case, "infrared" is defined as being above 700 nm, undetectable by the human eye. Know your facts before you start name calling.

  • cant you just put on 3-D glasses and tape another pair upside down to the first pair???

  • nah dude hes using ir leds

    humans cant see ir

  • ha ha they can if you have an ir filter thats all you can see you will be instantaneously blinded sooo your wrong

  • weyy he isnt using a digital camera which would make this project work. hes just using ir leds and celophane wrappeing. and form the placement or them yes it will be hard to see but it does work

i dont thing im wrong on this...its the creator of the video whose wrong

  • is not celophane, with celophane does not work i have tried and i dont see any infra red light

  • red and congo blue lighting gels

  • thanks for the info. i guess its something about the red and the blue filters that only lets you see the infra red light. ps when you wear these don't go out side and look at the sun i hear you will burn your retinas lol

  • 0:01

  • BULLSHIT! Anyone who buys this crap is a moron. Real N/V converts IR and near IR light (invisible light) into the visible spectrum electronically. They actually convert the photons, "capture them" much the same way a digital camera does, then amplify the image, displaying it on a screen inside the eye piece. This is literally just a flash light with colored lenses.

  • or you could buy a LED flashlight and point it at where you want to see without the gay red and blue light bend

  • they dont work! led at radio shack, the filter gel paper at rosco .just type in rosco gel filters! you would be better off buying eyeclopse these sun glasses are bogus!!!!

  • Awesome

  • if this was real night vision and its this compact why are real night vision goggles so big and bulky?? IT WONT WORK! u may see a little glimmer of light but no actual "Night Vision". If these worked our military would be using them and obviously they arent.

  • the "real" goggles are big and bulky because they are MUCH higher quality. i guanintee that they have many other uses than just night vision. (i.e. thermal, telescope, etc.)

  • true but idk about telescope they MAY have thermal but idk.

  • then if you don't know, just SHUT the fuck up.

  • Our military does not Use infrared night vision because the point is to not be seen. If they were using infrared then they would have to bathe the area with IR light in which case anyone with a digital camcorder could see them. FTW

  • yeah i thought about that after i had posted that comment and found out they just amplify ambient light by a lot!

  • Yea, like 50,000 times alot.

  • this is confusing u say solder 2 par of 3 leds but if u do that u will have 6 not 8 so what happen to the other 2 leds u would have to use 4 not 3 ??!!

  • dude what kind of LEDs are they theres lke red LEDs and what not!!! plz some one tell.

  • INFRA RED leds, duh.. as in INFRA light.. didn't you get physics in college?

  • Theyre infrared. its light who cannot be seen by human eyes but cameras and NV googles catch it because the colors of the "gel" colours block eachother "red blocks blue and blue blocks red" you will be able to see light you cannot see with your eyes !!!note!!! do NOT look at the sun unless you want empty eyeballs

  • i'm gunna get my friend to try it and look at the sun.

I will warn him the dangers and he will look.

    Yay!

    no that would be barbaric..

  • lol no

  • where i will find the blue and red papers ?

with negative paper will work ?

  • u sooooooooooooooo fuckin stupid why do u need 8 ir light emiting diodes

  • doesn't look like IR LED's. looks like white LEDs.

  • because the colours actually catch the infra-red invisible light that is emitted from the LEDs

and 8 is better than 1

  • Wrong reason it looks white is because cameras see infrared light.
