  • like if you think he looks like sheldon cooper

  • he really suits glasses... i love brian so much

he's so adorable and unlike most people, i love his accent <3

  • love brian molko soooooo much <3 but y dus he hide his beautiful eyes :'(

  • I hate how few ppl like Placebo..they are amazing[-(!!!!!!<3

  • He is so sexy!!

  • I love this interview and I love their cover of Running Up That Hill. It is awesome. I watch it all the time.

  • I'm glad that he ignores trends.... he's a lot more "fashionable" than everyone in the fashion industry!

  • It's because he's lived all over the world. His dad was American, his mom was Scottish, he was born in Belgium, and lived in multiple countries growing up.

  • @flabrigella its English, you cannot be that stupid, can you?

  • @hellchild65 I can't remember writing that but I think I just said that cause it's an english accent mixed with an american accent. Sorry guys.

  • i dont hear the brittish side

only outside the studio , when u hear 'm on a roadtrip talkin or somethin like that it sounds pretty brittish but live it sounds.. pretty .. normal to me no? (rather american english than pure english)

  • Is it me, or does his accent fade in and out?

  • Funny he's talking about Bowie so much in this interview. Sometime ago he seemed kind fed up of answering questions on how was working with David.

  • Father franco-italian-not american. he just spent part of his adulthood in americqan and became american citizen. for fuck shake!

    mother scottish.

Brought up in Luxembourg and Scotland. then moved to middle-east. (mostly Lebanon)

    -

u can check out his interview on friday night with jonathan ross where bri says all these himself ;)

  • *well i obviously meant america, not americquan.XD

  • i cant make out his accent is he british or american cos i THINK hes got a mix. sorry im not great at guessing accents haha

  • He's part Scottish, part American, and raised in Britain...

so I don't know what it would be called. Lol.

    Like... Scamerlish...?

  • American father, Scottish mother, went to school in Luxembourg.

  • And he was born in Belgium...

  • Omg he's English.

    So fuckin hot.

  • i want Brian

  • brian ma śietną gestykulacje w tym rece odgrywaja duza role ...you now

  • I miss the times when musicians actually knew what they were doing. I thank God Placebo's out there to remind me that music is not dead. Or, not yet, anyway.

  • Brian is so smart. I love hear him talk because everyword he says is reflected and discussed inside his head, i can tell by the way he stops before he talks. and i love the idea of the voice in the back of his head, i couldnt get another phrase to express that feeling he talks about (:

  • Brian... Brian <3 you know :)

  • Where are you Henry? XD

  • Aurea dicta

  • he's got an extremely expressive face even if his eyes're covered with shades...feels so good to watch - and such a sweet smile :D

    .....and THE voice

  • i just saw them at Rok am Ring in Germany!

They are so fuckin amazing and the new drummer is a hottie ;)

    Love the new record!

  • Lucky you!Rock am Ring is amazing!

I'm gonna see them today xD

  • seein placebo on the 9th december :)

  • love it!!!!!!!

  • PLACEBO ARE FUCKING IMENCE! going to see them in june, or july i cant remember! lol

  • I LOVE YOU BRIAN....So smart, so awesome! Placebo is the greatest.

  • Placebo is not English :S wtf!!! Brian is from Scotland Dundee ....

  • its not that straight forward to define his nationality; but yes scottish or british, not english.

  • no its not. I'm scottish, when people say I'm english I get pretty annoyed, im british or scottish, never english. I prefer the term british to being specific since we are supposed to be 'united'

  • Oh I see, that's fair enough then. I agree with you there then.

    Peace x

  • Yeah true what Brian saif in the beggening. I discovered Placebo two weeks ago... (i know i'm terrible) and can't believe that som GREAT songs are from 90s, the could be from this year i wouldn't hear any difference.

  • You know, kind of, sort of

  • Brian is amazing!

  • yayyyy. placebo is english. we dont have many great english bands anymore. :(

  • they originally come from australia so TAKE THAT haha just kidding

  • nooooo! Well at least we have muse! :P

    lol

  • british

  • I just love this guy so much! He's such an intelligent, funny, and articulate man! I wish I could meet him one day

  • Thorough interview.

  • Molko has nice lips. I want them on mine............and on other parts of my body.

  • your a kinda weird person. but cool lol

  • Someone commented incorrectly and a bit rudely about his sexuality. He's bi-ok? get over it! It's part of what makes him who he is... Also, he doesn't sound British to you? Wow,you mean people with American accents can be SMART?! Yes,he's brilliant and articulate! I can't wait till the new album comes out. I'm glad Placebo "soldiers on." Thankx for posting-very good interview.

  • dont be a pussy just deal with people bieng homophobic

  • how old is he?

  • Comment removed

  • he is 36. he was born the 10th december 1972

  • As an artist working on my own project I have never related to and agreed more with this interview. If you have ever written a record (in my case, by myself), you become very critical and your own worst enemy. But, the end result is what it's all worth. Love Placebo!

  • I wish I had the same skill for expressing myself. Brilliant interview.

  • He has a British but American accent lol :D

  • his accent is so wierd

  • but wow! i always thought that he has a british accent.

  • He has a bit from all over due to his scattered heritage and the places that he's lived.

  • placebo is pretty good. but not as good as the spice girls. i'm kidding.

  • haha

  • in 2008, they were keeping low. what and where are they now? are they touring or something? i miss them!

  • they are recording their new album with new drummer steve forrest

  • First 40 seconds says it all. They are Placebo. They make music.

Ive always seen them to be in the background of the 'music scene' just letting the new groups and old groups come and go while they just remain a constant source of amazing live performances, lyrical content, videos and music.

I have a feeling they will never be fully recognised as the true greats that they are.

But i think thats a good thing.

  • totally agree.

I think it's a good thing also.. idk, seeing Placebo become a full-blown mainsteam band might spoil some of their genius. but then again maybe not. maybe they'd be one of the few that handle it gracefully.

though they're always the incredible band that only I know about, none of my friends.. like my personal music I'd like to not share. lol

  • and i think that's good, cuz it makes you feel like the music is actually made just for you, cuz its soo deep that you can actually feel it, and you can identify with, you can even think it was written for you, jajaja idk but that's what happends to me with a lot of their songs, and that's why i think they are so great, so its better like this, not trying to be popular, and just being placebo

  • exactly. their music,

it's so relative and close to the core human emotions which absolutely everyone has felt at one time in their lives, I think thats what really allows the message of their lyrics to hit you. and therefore allows you to create a closeness and familiar aspect with the music. thats what makes it brilliant.

  • i think they will, real recognition usually comes afterwards

they are already a lot diff - arena tours, my friends all know them n have some placebo nowadays, i used to be alone with my love outside of meetings fans at gigs

  • @Nymphelyn I couldn't agree more. It wouldn't be good if they became really popular, that's just not them. they're different and they like it, so all the people in the world who are different can kinda relate to them. I love Placebo

  • @Nymphelyn

    And still they are :)

  • washeeeeto

  • i just love placebo! he is so original!!

  • i think placebo's version of Running up that hill was better than the original.

    awesome interview...

  • ugh god he's amazing.

  • wow,2007 was a good year for me, and this interview is apart of why and the performances :)

  • Henry Rollins has a show?

  • You took the words right out of my mouth.

  • Yes... he sure does.

  • Placebo is British but is Brian?

  • well..he was born in belgium but he is part british/american

  • Well that's not really an ethnic thing :P

  • part Scottish, not british

  • @onetouchspark Actually, he's part Scottish, on his mother's side, and French/Italian on his father's side, but his father hails from America. =)

  • @onetouchspark His mother was Scottish, but moved to America and became an American citizen. His father is of Italian/French heritage and also moved to America and became an American citizen. They married in New York. Brian was born in Belgium, spent his childhood in Luxembourg, and bounced around between Europe and New York until he moved to England to attend University.

  • he went 2 the american something something school of europe but hes like a belgian dude raised in britain

  • His father is half Italian half French, her mother is scottish, but they met in New York where they got married and they were living for a while. His father, employee of a bank, became expatriate and the family moved to Brussels Belgium, and Brian was born there. Then they moved to Luxembourg, they spent 11 years there and Brian went to the American School. He speaks also French (very well indeed),Luxemburgian and a little German. He is a real international guy, very intelligent and open minded as well.

  • you are absolutely right!

  • he initially went to the luxemburgianish school, but he was bullied so he went to the american one.

  • He has the most beutiful smile I've ever seen.

It makes me happy when he smiles.

I'd like to kiss those lips. :-D

  • Gay boy is gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • i'd like to eat you, mr molko ^^

    aah, he's gorgeous

  • Keep listening to that 'little voice' in the back of your head and may the next Placebo album be the best ever, y'know....

  • lol hez so cute!!!

  • I think this is just another example, that shows perfectly, how intelligent Mr. Molko is. He's knows how to express himself so well and his English is really, really easy to understand, although I'm not a native speaker.

  • his accent is sweet, mixure of english and american accents

  • i got no words to say.. this video is so amazing! especially brian.. the way he is speakin, the words he is sayin.. that all so awsome.

i love to say i love this little belgian guy:)

  • I like Brian Molko's voice during talking and naturally during singing! He is a pretty awesome and handsome man! I love him so much! Brian Molko and Placebo rocks!

  • i love henry rollins & brian molko... what a nice combo

  • Amazing Band I Love There Music, It Means everything to me, quaity, best three peice band in the world

  • come on, first album is my favourite!

    &I love his eyebrows^^

  • i don't believe it happens very often with other bands/singers, that the more one sees new interviews with him, the more reasons one finds to admire him, not to get disappointed... and this interview is particularly good, it's not like others when he has to talk despite of the interviewer and the circus around

  • fucking beautiful

  • I love that guy

  • Haha, kooky. That's so cute.

  • molko es lo más exquisito que existe en la tierra... lo amo aunque sea bi-gay-hetero me da lo mismo!!!!.. es increible.

  • Excellent interview, Molko is so interesting!

  • oH yes Brian, dispel all insecurities, Bowie, Stipe & Black approve and many more do. You are a legend!

  • ohhh Brian my love!, this man is so cute!

  • I'm truly agree with that Brian said about the cover of Kate Bush's running up that hill ... I think that Placebo's version is more imotianable and sounds better according to me ...so 10x for the inetrview and i love these gyes especially Brian Molko :)

  • thank you Aly for uploading it, it's such a shame I havent watch it yet. :s
