We saw him yesterday at the Ren. Fest. yesterday (2009) i have never seen anything like this. I love how he is very....mysterious in a way this was amazing to see..
I love this song. the instrument is called a Carillon and there are only 3 like it in existence, if I'm not mistaken. Very cool and very nice to listen to in person. And to the comment about how he moves his head, he does this as part of the theatrics to remind crowds of an owl. Ps he never shows his face, which makes him and his Carillon all the more mysterious.
on wikipedia, you'll find there are hundreds of carillons in the world. But, those are stationary and found in cathedrals, universities, ect. there are very few traveling carillons, and cast in bronze is the ONLY act in the US with a traveling carillon. and originally, it was just the one carillon (the 35-bell shown here), but recently a second one was acquired for CiB that has 48 bells. i saw it just last saturday at the ga renfest and it was played by a guy named jonathan lehrer.
There are about 500 + Carillons in existence world wide. Most are in cathedrals, and university bell towers, also, a lot of them have fallen into disrepair over the many years. Cast In Bronze has the only two traveling Carillons in the world. Jonathan Lehrer is Frank Della Penna's, the guy playing here and the original Cast In Bronze guy, pupil. He never shows his face because [quote] "It is not who he is on the outside, but who the music makes him on the inside".
LOL i think it was me and my buddy standing in front of everyone, i remember some dude yelling at me and him while we were standing around and listening
this guy is great. I listen to the show every year even though it is mostly the same songs. and his daughter that sells the CD's is nice to look at too :O

Hey, that's a neat instrument! I could've done without the crazy head-moving theatrics, but cool vid.
