I took a chance on a Bogner XTC 101B. I've had it for about 1 month. I've owned 2 Mesa IIC+ amps in the past. There's NO doubt about it to me, the Mesa IIC+ amps on the drive channel sound a lot better than the XTC red channel. There's a certain woofy tone or congestion on the red channel that just doesn't go away. And i have the Marvel mod installed and I'm using it in the Cameron Mode. Of course the versatility of the XTC is nice, but to me it's a jack of all trades and a master of none.
@danyeo I personally prefer the XTC. And I think the Blue Channel - which it's all about by the way - is the master of all channels on any amp, so it's certainly a master of many things in my eyes!
@RandomHero12 I'll tell you this, I'm keeping my Fortin Cali mod and the XTC has been sold. The gain on the Fortin just kills the XTC, it's tighter, there's more of it, and it can get thicker and still sound clear. Plus, it cleans up with the guitar volume.
@danyeo I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I don't look for the tightest gain, I dunno why you'd need more than the XTC (I guess you're talking about the red channel?), and the Blue channel cleans up amazingly... I think it's pretty thick and clear too although of course, I haven't played a Fortin.
@danyeo Is it true that the amp is really hard to set up? I read a comment somewhere on another video where it took a guy 8 months to find the sound he wanted because the amp is so versatile.
Thanks man. The majority of the dirt is on the Blue channel, occasinally boosted with the Fulldrive on the floor, then the gainiest parts are on the Red.
great video. i was wondering whether you've experienced any gaps in the sound when bypassing or switching presets on the timefactor?? i don't hear any, everything sounds great! but i've seen that a few times on the net so i thought i'd ask. cheers
Fuck, I'm really considering offing my IIC+ and getting an Ecstasy now. Thanks alot! Haha. By the way, when you played 'The prayer/the answer', it sounded just like Timmons and gave me chills.
Dude your fucking fat and you have especially really fat legs. My girlfriend laughed when she saw your videos because your so ugly and look like a complete JP wannabe. Your just one of those fat people who no matter how much they workout they remain fat and really ugly their whole life. Your playing is pathetic dude.
you know what is funny? I clicked on your name..and guess what? YOU HAVE NO FUCKING VIDEOS OF YOUR OWN. I can see it now, you are a fucking poser, with this "girlfriend" of yours, sitting next to you, freshly inflated, while you make fun of everyone else....because you have no life..
Nice. Here is a dude with sweet gear, great tone, and love of the guitar taking the time to share, and what does he get? Bull comments like this. How lame and weak.
Awesome tone through the Ecstasy, man. What pedal do you think is better, the TC Nova Delay or the Timefactor? I'm building a rack and wanna go midi, but the TC isn't midi-controllable like the Timefactor. I'd like your opinion. Thanks.
That's one of the reasons I went with the TimeFactor, for it's MIDI capabilities, making it capable of easily fitting into a bigger rig. I can't say I've even tried the Nova Delay, but I'm very happy with the TF.
sounds great bro sounds like someone about 8 months ago was a little bit jealous. lol

whats the difference between the xtc 100b,101b and the classic ?
matheallergiker 1 year ago
In my opinion the Bogner XTC kicks the Mark IIC+. I do like the mesa lone star and new electradyne. Bogner would still be my first choice.
bobhufocm 2 years ago
@bobhufocm I like the IIC+ gain over the XTC, but the Bogner is soo much more versatile.
