but a way to become a more experienced blues guitarist is try taking some distortion off the amp and clean it up to an extent and maybe try buying 10 or 11 gauge strings so u can get a better feel of guitar and when u go back to the standard 9 gauge strings u will be able to play faster also instead of playin very fast all the time try holding some notes to just feel it and make it sound good in your head

This youngster already has individual style, impressive for a kid. That fingerstyle stuff is pretty darn crazy but he gets some wicked sounding rakes out of those digits. Trippy stuff. But beyond his unique style it's obvious he has chops. He's going to be brutal in a few years. I'd put a lid on it naysayers, this kid has the goods.

You honestly don't need to use a pick to play the blues. A lot of the blues legends never used picks. The original bluesmen were too poor for picks when god already gave them five of them! This kid has an awesome finger style. I would tell him to screw a flat pick. Maybe try a thumbpick if he wants a sharper more plectrum like attack. But, I will agree it's good not to just non-stop solo. You gotta have a simple funky rhythm and use the soloing to bring out extra flavors from the overall feel.
