How great is that huh? For Alex Smith to redeem himself with that TD run and then Vernon Davis had the game winning TD catch. These two had gone through tough times to this, just amazing.
Nice final score. I'm a Saints fan, but that was still badass. To bad the Saints didn't win though, because with our team setup, I'm pretty sure we could have beaten the Giants.
@CrueRock lol geeeze calm down, I was joking ahaha I actually learned to forgive him unlike other people, I can't wait to have him back next year cause he's gonna be a big part of our offense BUT I don't want him returning the ball tho aha
I honestly think a way better superbowl would c have, been niners against patriots...butttttt they obviously didn't...NOT gonna say we got it nex that's kind of sore loser talk...I personally wanted them to win this year but its done already...congrats to the giants...
@Esefeh From a giants fan that was one hell of a defense, the best Ive ever seen in my 20 years of watching football besides maybe the superbowl winning ravens in '02.... 9ers beat the second best offense in NFL history and basically you guys stopped our offense, it was the special teams that won us the game, id be happy if i were you, all you guys need is a reciever and alex smith to improve and then who knows
@Julian24151 The 2002 Buccaneers defense was better than the 2000 Ravens defense. Why? The Buccaneers defense scored points; it was like a second offense.
everyone arguing niners suck they have no talent they won out of luck.... bunch of sore losers who are cryibg cause your team didnt make it... giants beat the patriots twice was that luck? on paper patriots were better.. geez green bay was to repeat... shit happens but not because of luck... regaurdless how the niners lost the two td passes to vern davis were on point... that was no luck...the 28 yard run was no luck... and beating the saints was not by luck.. 49ners got there by wining games
@hotkinghtrider2 Ya I know what you mean, the Saints fans think they are all that just because they won "one" SuperBowl and how many have the 49ers won? That's right we've won 5! I hope the Falcons put the Saints in their place next season and the 49ers go to the SuperBowl again, it's our time to shine!
@MichRockHop81108 you need mental therapy, how goes around to like 20 different videos to write paragraphs upon paragraphs about 49ers being "lucky" please get a life, michcockhops..
I guess michrock if saying that the niners had luck this year makes you happy then that's you but winning close games ain't luck, there's no luck in the NFL obviously we all know your hating and I'm not saying this cus I'm a niner fan is just logical
All luck no talent?????? Bro seriously bro??? Seriously BRO!!!! Hahahahha do u watch football????? Wtf every person that watches football knows this team has talent all they needed was a coach and look what happen... Luck? Please man stop hating and go watch some football and next time know what you are talking about
If your a Giants Fan... Its simple, this is NINERS TERRITORY, wait until riots erupt in NYG, go watch Green Bay vs Giants not this shit if youre not a Niner Fan cuz apparently every1 here including me are Niners fans so stop commenting and ranting that Niners are lucky. They're way fucking better than the giants thats for sure
@NapalmedPanda Yeah...maybe the defense is better than the giant's but the offense run by Alex "butt pussy" Smith just isn't enough. They had SO many chances to put 3 points on the board to not have it go to OT and they couldnt AND they couldnt score when the giants couldnt score in OT. AND they usually dont do much on offense anyway. They have no game plan just hoping that they can get good field position off fumbles and big Dfence plays. Which is good, but no super.
@NapalmedPanda I dont think most people dissing the 9ers here are NYG fans, I think we just know that Alex "Butt Pirate" Smith isn't that great and we're just sick of the 9ers SOMEHOW getting this far. I wanna hear you tell me that it wasn't the Saints fault they lost the game, yeah, it was the AMAZINGNESS of the defense stripping the ball. Right. 9ers 6-10 next year like they should be, bring back singletary and lets have some fun!
Does anyone in SF ACTUALLY think that Alex Smith can win a Super Bowl? You need to understand that great Defense wins championships but you have to sprinkle just a LITTLE bit of offense over it. I wanted the giants to win and every down I was just praying that it would be an Alex Smith pass and he pretty much never did any damage with the exeption of the giants d breaking down on V davis. But see thats the only reason the 9ers were that far, they got lucky all year and justice was finally served
@MichRockHop81108 wtf, how did we get lucky? you guys got lucky getting two fumbles already in field goal range and when the refs had that bull shit call about forward progress or whatever that shit was when bradshaw fumbled on our 20 in the 4th. the giants have no chance in the super bowl nor do they have any heart like our niners....
@justinjkelly12 they got lucky the saints couldnt catch kickoffs on that particular day. if you say that drew brees woulndt have scored with all 3 turnovers then the final score would still be 32 to 19... So just pray for fumbles and watch how big of a "hero" Alex "overhyped bitch" Smith will take you
@garubek yeah okay but see.....when you CANT get fumbles as it very often is the case that it's HARD to get a fumble even if they're good at it, what if you don't get it? Then the 9ers are really in trouble cause they have no offense.
@MichRockHop81108 Finishing 11th in PPG is no offense? And you consider leading the league in takeaways all year lucky, but Williams losing the ball twice and Dashon Goldson running into another defender on a sure INT on two separate occasions is what? They could play the Giants 100 times and those 4 things would never happen again in one game. And it took all four of those to lose by 3 in OT. Definitely luck.
@garubek yeah well he wouldnt have had to go to overtime if he did SOMEthing on offense so yeah they're lucky they even go to that point, but you're trying to prove me wrong....that's exactly what I knew would happen to the 9ers the whole year they're talkin about how efficient they are with takeaways and shit. And it comes down to THEY fuck up because you can't just RELY that you'll get lucky enough to win the super bowl and they didnt. but it was all luck getting to the NFC title.
@MichRockHop81108 If Niners are all luck, then how come with no luck, and even bad luck, they only lost by 3 in OT in the NFC Championship? If they can almost lose while enduring bad luck, I think they can win with no luck on their side.
@garubek they did have luck. They were lucky they even got the 2 touchdowns because of defensive breakdowns. They had at least 5 drives to put 3 on the board that their defense KEPT giving them by stopping the giants and they never went anywhere. Overhyped, overrated, going nowhere next year.
@MichRockHop81108 If defensive breakdowns = luck, then were the Saints lucky to almost beat the Niners (ie Whitner's error on Graham's last TD)? Or does that not count, because that would be in favor of the Niners? If defensive breakdowns = luck, then what the hell do you call "punt returner fumbling twice inside the 30"?
@garubek I'd call it what happened to the Saints. The beginning fumbles gave the 9ers 17 points. If even ONE of them is back the game doesnt end up close. 9ers won the division playoff on luck and then got unlucky in the title. I say it's justice, until they can in fact pass I dont see why they were considered so good.
@MichRockHop81108 well its funny you say take away one of their turnovers and the saints would've won.. well if the saints were better they wouldn't have coughed up the ball five times... it doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile.., winnings winning.
@MichRockHop81108 Oh, ok. So if something happens against the Niners, it's not luck. But if something happens in favor of the Niners, it is luck? Yeah, that's not contradictory in any way. Why were they good? Maybe it's because they had arguably the best defense, arguably the best special teams, ran the ball well and had the fewest turnovers in the league. Sorry to bust your bubble, but passing for 400 yds a game isn't the only legitimate way to win.
@garubek I feel like the defense being the strength wont IMPROVE much next year I mean how can it, it was incredibly dank. But it is so pleasing to watch Alex Smith wind up for a throw if you're rooting against the 9ers so I think they wont have another season like this uless they figure some offense out or something. I've had this idea that maybe they should be like the 70's steelers and do a pure run style ball control offense. then smith can hit give me passes and GORE is the man
@garubek when we argue can you please not use phrases like "burst your bubble" it makes you sound so stupid, and Im not trying to state facts but the niners shouldnt have been 13-3. They were "efficient" but they also won a lot of really CLOSE games and in the end not much of an offense proved fatal, and I hope we arent blaming williams. Just read those death tweets.......wow.
@MichRockHop81108 What does close games have to do with it? They had a better point differential than every team but New England, Green Bay and New Orleans. They had 4 wins by 7 or less. The Giants had 5 wins by 7 or less. I guess they had more luck then. And what the Niners did this year has nothing to do with next year. Yes, they have holes they have to fix. That doesn't mean this was a lucky year.
@MichRockHop81108 and your team is who? 9ers went 13-3 and went to the nfc championship game.. and ill just nip this in the bud before you say it, but they only played 1 team in the west before wrapping up the division which included two other teams that but the last two weeks of the season had a chance at a wild card.. sure they won't win 13 games next year cus the division is getting batter, but i don't understand why you have to be so bitter..
@garubek and then SOMEHOW the defense cant catch alex smith on a 30 yard run and they cant stop the lat two drives SOMEHOW. the 9ers will not be above 500 to end the regular season next year, but at least that'll pry be good enough to win the division.
Alex smith sucks ass.he has one lucky season, because of a SPECTACULAR defense, and now everyone is riding his dick.the bears had a qb just like him.his name was rex grossman.
Too often in the highlights they never talk about the blocking... they need to acknowledge that more. The games aren't won with just QB's, backs and receivers... RUN STALEY, RUN!!!
It was like he was Steve Young with that TD run and Joe Montana with the last drive. It was great watching him did that. Something special is brewing here for this 49ers team.
That 28 yrd run was the longest TD run by a QB in the playoffs in NFL history. The last one was back in 1971. Wow. It was as if some higher up didn't want it to end it like that and they follow it up by Alex to Vernon TD ("The Catch III") on the 30th anniversary of the original Catch. Magic!*
This was incredible, but what really impressed me was how the Saints then scored immediately to retake the lead, so it looked like the 49ers were dead, but with only 90 seconds left Smith took the team 85 yards to score AGAIN. That is real confidence. This team believes in themselves.
wow, I remeber last year with the Eagles game...the horrible booing they gave him...was very sad to see that, never seen that in my life. NOW THIS AMAZING GAME??UNBELIEVABLE, WHO IS THIS GUY??ales Smith?? LMAO ! DAMNNNNN
@CELIBERICO I was at that game, it was so irritating to listen to. Me and my uncle were some of the very few not booing. Never lost faith in Alex and im glad i didnt.
people need to realize that alex smith joined the niners while they had bad coaching and couldnt get there shit together, all the sports "experts" never mentioned that
Wow, this touchdown run and that final drive to Davis reminds me much of Steve Young. Alex Smith is amazing. He has only had setbacks because his coach and offensive coordinators were changed every year. COME ON 9ERS!!!!!!
Thank you so much for posting this incredibe vid. My DVR stopped recording 2 min. before this series. I will watch this again and again!!! Many thanks
It's crazy. The 49ers offense couldnt get anything going from the 2nd to 4th quarter, then out of nowhere the 49ers defense broke down and their offense got it going.
This was one of the most shocking yet awesome plays I've ever seen. When he was by himself in shotgun I remember thinking "there's no way he's gonna run it; he's not Vick or Tebow..." and what does he do... RUN IT!
Since he helping Utah Utes to fiesta bowl and he still legend!! Thank you Alex Smith to helping 49ers to beat saints!! Hopefully he will get them to super bowl!!!
Before this season if someone said Alex Smith would lead the 49ers to a playoff win over the saints no body would believe that person. One of the best finishes too a football game I've ever seen. (newbie to NFL, so I haven't seen tons of classic games)
@1337kamikaze people will alwys talk shit i mean a annoying lil shit of a kid ik is a saints fan and before the game he was saying oh saints are gonna crush him so i sent him a nice msg and all he says are 49ers are gonna get crushed next week. hes just mad his team is out cuz of my team but theyll alwys b dumb people
@1337kamikaze Playing one great quarter out of 4 does not mean Smith will be free from criticism. The 49ers would not even have been in this game without the Defense causing 5 turnovers!
@pqnguyen Neither would the Giants against the Packs. "Defenses win games." How many times do you hear that mantra? Packs had a dead last defense and continued to be that way against the Giants.
Unbelievable game!

Aaron Rodgers may have beaten Alex Smith to a superbowl ring, but Alex Smith will end up with more rings
PowerKittyPink 1 month ago 2
my super bowl pick is the 49ers and patriots and the patriots win in OT

@venomdagger1 I thinks its gonna be baltimore and the 49ers ravens win

Too often in the highlights they never talk about the blocking... they need to acknowledge that more. The games aren't won with just QB's, backs and receivers... RUN STALEY, RUN!!!
MrLotsofGiggling 1 month ago
They should think about moving Joe Staley to running back in the redzone they guy has some wheels

As soon as he took off, I knew he was going to get at least the first down, but my immediate reaction was: "Oh NO they didnt"

Tim Tebow may have been a great story for the NFL this year, but once Alex gets to and wins the Super Bowl, he'll have the greatest story of all.

amazing. still in awe...magical game for the 49ers....Epic.!!!
CELIBERICO 1 month ago
It was like he was Steve Young with that TD run and Joe Montana with the last drive. It was great watching him did that. Something special is brewing here for this 49ers team.
salamander337 1 month ago
That 28 yrd run was the longest TD run by a QB in the playoffs in NFL history. The last one was back in 1971. Wow. It was as if some higher up didn't want it to end it like that and they follow it up by Alex to Vernon TD ("The Catch III") on the 30th anniversary of the original Catch. Magic!*
salamander337 1 month ago
Was anyone else pissed that Alex didn't fall down before going into the endzone so we could kill the clock and kick a game winning field goal???

Watch it again. Williams is the receiver in motion and nails the Defensive End. What a great block!!! Staley was a bull running full steam too!

Also, this whole play looked like a pass since no back was behind Alex. The saints totally sold out on trying to sack Alex in the pocket.
zzap999 1 month ago
The saints overloaded the right side with two linebackers. No wonder the whole left side was easier to block.

Wow, this touchdown run and that final drive to Davis reminds me much of Steve Young. Alex Smith is amazing. He has only had setbacks because his coach and offensive coordinators were changed every year. COME ON 9ERS!!!!!!

It's crazy. The 49ers offense couldnt get anything going from the 2nd to 4th quarter, then out of nowhere the 49ers defense broke down and their offense got it going.

I love the angle when Staley (74) makes the cut block, spins around to watch his quarterback walk into the end zone. Great call! Unbelievable game!

Before this season if someone said Alex Smith would lead the 49ers to a playoff win over the saints no body would believe that person. One of the best finishes too a football game I've ever seen. (newbie to NFL, so I haven't seen tons of classic games)

gmoney22ish 1 month ago
@1337kamikaze Playing one great quarter out of 4 does not mean Smith will be free from criticism. The 49ers would not even have been in this game without the Defense causing 5 turnovers!
pqnguyen 1 month ago
@pqnguyen Neither would the Giants against the Packs. "Defenses win games." How many times do you hear that mantra? Packs had a dead last defense and continued to be that way against the Giants.
