  • Voice = Annoying

  • @PanicMix Penis = Small

  • I'm using this monitor because I got it for a review. It's really amazing.

  • Will this be good for games?

  • @Jeebs24 itll be a touch slower than some other monitors but the colour reproduction is AMAZING!

  • do want! Nice vid

  • pres 6 repeatedly Linus is raping the monitor

  • I have a question about this monitor, I have it connected to my Dell Studio laptop. I'm a Photographer so color accuracy is important. What laptop to monitor connection would be more suitable in giving me the most accurate sRGB colors? DVI TO DVI? HDMI? Or USB?

  • @synapzes Hm I see. I am a digital artist and I''m searching for a monitor. Still haven't really decided yet but Asus PA246Q is on top of my list at the moment.

  • Anyone buy this yet and if so, how is it?

  • I've been seeing 25-27" monitors constantly in the circulars for under $300. :) Great deals. Some even with 3D support.

  • i should say i watch alot of movies on my pc and game as well

  • is there that much difference between this and the PA238Q except one is 1080p and the other 1200p? id rather go for the cheaper one but if theres something ground breaking in the newer i will go for that thx in advance for your help

  • @Niqbal87 I want to know that too. Did you find an answer?

  • @jummuu nope ive done a lot of research on ips vs tn since and some people who only have ips will say its superior but people with both will tell you the colour difference between modern tn and ips is not what it use to be in fact in my opinion tn is now superior id go for the benq xl2420t the horizontal viewing angles are as good as ips too ips are NOT designed with gaming in mind and are for photography so people think you would get superior pictures in games too nope not really.

  • i gotta get this thing. nice review.

  • This looks REALLY cool, but how come nearly all IPS monitors are so shiny?

  • Do you collect monitors dude? ;)

  • just bought it!

  • @grimzkunk probably an imitation to what Canon puts on their professional lenses a round red ring xD

  • What is this ugly red line on the bottom of the screen??? Professionnal eh?

  • buy a 500$ monitor and then use the vga output.. GREAT!

  • 9:00 "That's cool, Eh?"

  • wtf

  • @kingduqc 120hz always for gaming

  • what would you consider the best gaming monitor? isp 1920*1200 or 120 hz 1080p (not interested in 3d)

  • this monitor produces way way too much heat...

  • If you're interested in creating a *review* of this device, consider following the example set by these guys: (search for "Asus Pro Art 246Q Monitör İncelemesi", as it seems that I can't link directly to a YouTube video in a comment.)

I'm a stupid uniglot American, so I have no idea what they are saying, but their review is far and away the most useful look at the monitor that I've found on the Internet. (They even have a live viewing angles test with a TN monitor!)

  • It's beauty brings a tear to my eye. Much more expensive than any other monitor I was considering before, but for this quality display at that price, it's really a great deal.

  • i was devastated as you set the monitor on the edge of the desk while waving your arms all around it as if this thing cost like 5 bucks each

  • hot guy!

  • Can the baby put the bag over my face?

  • Your Face Is DONE!

  • nice 1900x1200-IPS-Monitor with high-position-regulation for 2 Meter humans!

  • Trying not to be ignorant, but what is the point of a pivot? Can't you just turn the stand?

  • If I'll steal your cdkey (well, because you showed it)

    will I get a 24" LCD too?

  • This monitor looks amazing, wouldnt mind it sitting next to my 26" Asus!!

  • Seriously who cares about the accessories? they are always the same anyway. Why don't these people get to the good bits right away?

  • oh man, i really want this monitor.. but i juz can buy this monitor at the end of this year..cant wait..

  • Is this 3D?

  • @Grishnahk no

  • Comment removed

  • I really like this but why did ASUS designer put a ugly discracting tomato-line on the frame?? It really doesnt fit IMHO.

Really curious about how this will stand against LGs - IP pivot IPS and when the new Dell monitors (the new gen after U2311 and U2410) releases.

Do you think the stand is stable enough and the luminance/brightness is enough (ca 400) on ASUS PA246Q. Also any backlight in darkroom on darkscreen?

Love to get your honest opinion.

    Thanks

  • @beautyofsweden Tbh mate you don't see the red line at all. Granted it was a poor design choice, but it doesn't hinder at all.

The new gen Dell monitorr are only 1920x1080 resolution, though Samsung are releasing a new PLS line that you may be interested in. TFTcentral have some good info on them.

The stand is more than stable, the height adjustment is great, and the swivel and pivot work well.

  • @darksk8crow Thank you, I bought the LG IPS 236V even if it doesnt have pivot Im happy with it. Got myself an HP Envy 17" 2092-eo now so I use that screen mostly. U are on notebookreview?

  • @beautyofsweden i like the tomato line!

  • Best monitor unboxin ever :P

  • nice unboxing

  • 0:47 "I'm weak and from the internet" i lol'd in rl

  • Only 60Hz at 1900x1200?

  • @glen1ster Whats wrong with 60Hz and this resolution? Another one "brother" of this monitor - DELL U2410 (TFT H-IPS 1920x1200).

  • $488 ? no thanks

  • I have a question if you watch a movie on this with from an HDMI out and 1920 x 1080 resolution being sent over what happens does the monitor letterbox? and can it be used for gaming?

  • what's the resolution?

  • do use hdmi ?or vga? for the best results?

  • I bought this off ebay brand new for $28, It works fine and I FUKIN LOVE IT !!! : )

  • @007dardan fail =/

  • @permatroll Jealous Much ?

  • @007dardan umad?

    continuee??? :DDD

  • wich monitor is better: this one (ASUS ProArt PA246Q) or DELL UltraSharp U2410?

i don't understand why they create grid... for what (just for fun? for CS or CIV5). ASUS +5. 1920x1200 +5

  • @LocoVenado as they use the same panel they are pretty much the same, asus just readujsted the calibration, there are LOTS of descriptions on how calibrating these two beauties sucks when doing it yourself, so that's a big minus.

Out of the box the colors of the asus seem a bit more accurate especially concerning adobe rgb,

other than that there are the lil extras the asus has and maybe nobody really needs but still are nice if you can have it for the same prize

  • 9 people will never be able to afford it.

  • SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!

  • Lol I sit and look up at my Monitor. It's true...

When you spend your whole life in front of the computer, sitting up straight can get really uncomfortable.

  • Looks like I've found my new monitor! Normally I wouldn't buy a monitor over $250 USD, but considering my line of work, this $500 monitor makes a lot of sense. Gamer, Modder, Game Designer, 2D & 3D Artist...yeah, I think this is the monitor for me. EPIC! I love Asus

  • @IDGODROAR IPS is very much worth the premium. Not only is the colour so much more balance, (contrast usualy not strong). The secret feature is great comfortable on your eyes. IPS tends to be very natural and non straining on the eyes.

  • Would you make an unboxing on the ´`Creative fatal1ty headset``

  • Love how "centimetres" is spelt the american way...

  • I just realised it's 1920x1200.

    WIN!

  • @iJakobb For $500 it better be.

  • This is a monitor for Desktop Publishing.

  • excuse me, sir. is benq a good brand?

  • I'm going to just get this for blu-ray watching for the perfect (color accurate) viewing experience!

  • Cool...eh!

  • That is wrong. The Dell U2410 is H-IPS which is a variant of S-IPS, not e-IPS like Dell u2311h. I've also read the Dell U2410 is also capable of 10-bit color when using a display port, which would match the Asus' monitor capability. Anyway, these numbers don't really mean anything, which is why I am hoping to see a side by side comparison. I wants what the EYE wants.

  • from asuus

  • "SWEETTTT!" lmao

  • I'm wondering how it would compare side by side to a Dell U2410.

  • @paradigmshift7

Dell U2410 is utilising the e-IPS (cost down version of IPS panel)

Asus however is using the P-IPS panel

  • Centimetre etc markings on the bezel ruin the screen.

  • 8 people put that bag over their faces

  • i like the feature to move the screen without moving the support in wich is put

  • Hey guys anyone know how is called the stand on which is a computer Linus?

  • Still don't know who Crazy russian is :O

  • @gokill96

    I think it's his camera man. :)

  • @cMARVEL360 Ah :P

  • Why does the camera man look at random stuff while you're showing us stuff. IE - You show where the DVI ports are, before you even show what all the slots are - he's already off looking at something else, interrupting you and making you talk about whatever he feels like pointing at. WTF

  • @DeepSpaceVoid OMG!

  • its nice that you are good at unboxing and telling alot about the products but i just got a question about cameramen :) what pc specs dos he have a high end mean game machine or a mac or someting like your rig. or did you already make a vid about his rig :D ?

  • LCD screens are so 2000....... LED is teh best!

  • @hardbeatzmusic Did you even watch the video? Or you just looked to see that it wasn't LED so you could say your little comment? If you watched this video you would realize this is a beast of a monitor. I mean OH MA GOD U R SO RITE!!!1

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for turning it on in this one Linus. I like seeing it on (even if I can't tell anything about what colour accuracy is like)

Might pick one of these up, been looking for a new monitor for photoshop.

  • did u only buy this monitor because of the tilting stuff??

  • What camera do u use?

  • The NEC MultiSync EA232WMi is practically identical except for the high pitched "That's cool" part , the NEC is LED- IPS for $269 at egg.

  • Is this monitor recommended over the older Dell U24010? Not for gaming but for image/video editing and other photoshop related stuff. :P

  • Fuck the accessories GET TO THE FREAKIN MONITOR ALREADY

  • Only thing I don't like is marks all over monitor. I like it stock and slick dell better.

  • I have the acer s273hl. It only has the 16:9 aspect ratio. CRAP! its a great monitor, but I am now leaning toward this one. Only thing I wish is they had a model bigger than 24". So I thing I'll stick with my acer for now. However, I would personally from what I have seen on this asus proart, I would totally give it 4 stars. Great review Linus!

  • EH-ZEUS ....come on it's not that hard!

  • 3:53 Pivot - who thought of Ross?

  • What is its refresh rate?

  • You sound like you need ColdFX!!!

  • but it is multi-touch? no, so its shit :)

  • That's a nice monitor

  • its Asus, A-SUS where the fuck do you americans get the "ooo" from? :\

  • @girass Americans?!?!? They're Canadian!!

  • @Brumskis thats why we love 'em!

  • @girass From the Chairman of Asus.watch?v=OngQpjE8pHk

  • @firetrickz damn haha :)

  • @girass It's called the American-English Language.. Where the fuck do you Yoorupeans get your education from and here I though you people weren't ignorant when it came to other peoples languages and such. But I guess Hypocrite Yoorupeans can stick to their stereotypes only to fail with yourselves FYI: I spelled European Incorrectly for a purpose Problem, Eurocunt?

  • for the first few seconds i was like "HOW DID I GET TO GAY POV PORN?" then I realized it was just linus <3 :D

  • could this screen show me my windows?

  • 500$ at newegg

  • this is cool ay?

  • 8:46 i know how big the thing I'm working with is ;)

  • Chris. Interesting.

  • Nice T-shirt btw.

  • 8:33 the ultimate nerdgasm from linus - we love ya! =D

  • 8:33 the ultimate nerdgasm from linus - we love ya! =D

  • As per Asus' website, the panel has a 6ms response time. That is impressive for an IPS panel. This for gaming? I say WHY NOT. Most TN panels come in at 5ms. That's just my take on it though, I could be wrong.

  • That unboxing took less than a minute. Your normal ones take alot longer and this is a monitor.

  • lol im weak and from the internet :) honesty is the best policy !

  • Thumbs up if your from the internet?

  • U can even measure yer penor with this screen :D holy phuck man I'm so gonna get this!

  • Linus please do a AMD 3D setup review....

  • "I'm weak and from the internet"

  • Sweet!

  • im one of those few people that look up at my monitor because its on the second level of my desk lolol

  • Did this just come out? i just see this on asus website today and its supposed to be the best for photo editing and stuff as well as gaming... dont know if its worth the extra $ though u do get what u pay for so many ill give it a go

  • Since I raged about the "old VGA monitor", you mention it by hinting in almost every new video xD

  • @08:41

    OW LOOK AT THIS!

    OW THAT'S COOL!

HOW BIG THE THING YOUR WORKING WITH IS!

    JUST BY USING THIS BUTTONS!

  • is it also a 3D display?

  • ROLF can somebody please post a vid-response and make a slow-mo of the "SWEET!" etc xD Nice vid Linus :)

  • I'm weak and from the INTERNET

  • This is an awesome monitor. Over kill for my needs. I would just like a 24" with Pic-n-Pic, Hdmi, Dvi with 1920x1200, anyone got any a good hands-on suggestions?

  • my hp lp2475 looks exactly like this monitor lol....

and yes ips monitor do look better after calibration than a tn monitor... way better but out of the box an ips and a tn looks pretty much the same. i have a ips and a tn monitor side by side

  • Cool, its very nice...

  • @MaFeeeww dead pix prob, just return the screen

  • this would work best with ati/amd

  • all macs ready come with this

  • I dont consider it a monitor if it doesnt have picture in picture

  • "Cuz I'm weak and from the internet." - LOL

  • Would you recommend this monitor for gaming?

  • @xaero212 IPS monitors have more delay than TN monitors so you may see some ghosting. But the color quality will be superior.

  • @WickedGr Yes I am aware of that, I was just asking about this particular monitor. Producent declares 6ms so that would seem to be pretty good, but yes, IPS are not that good for gaming in general so that's why I wonder.

  • @xaero212 would you use a car for driving?

  • @infrinous19

Do you NEED a Ferrari to drive?

  • @infrinous19 he said recommend, not use... for example you could use a car for normal driving but it wouldn't be recommended

  • @xaero212

    If you're not sure: No.

These IPS panels are best suited for people who work with graphics and rendering.

The high price does not justify the minimal difference when you're gaming :)

  • @xaero212 no, the response rates on ips will be higher than good TNs. Thats why there are no 120hz ips monitors...

  • @jfrydom You still won't feel a difference during gaming.

  • @jfrydom quite fair point there but! You didn't test this particular one so you don't know for sure. Actually maybe this one can be quite good compromise between let's say graphic or web design & occasional gaming.

  • @xaero212 low response time, and its a 60hz monitor, not good for gaming, better for picture editing, movies, and 2-D and 3-D drawing

  • @xaero212 man it costs about 800 in $ currency, fuck it even if it can fly

  • @xaero212 It's likely good enough for gaming, but since it's not designed for gaming, you wont get a good value for it price.

  • @xaero212

At 500 without taxes, and from what i understand its not even 3D, for a 24' monitor its retarded. I woul def. not recommend this monitor. I know you asked Linus but i mean...dont buy this for gaming. Nowadays, the best for gaming is a 3D-capable monitor, around 30', with a 2560x1600 resolution. Those are pretty rare as of now, but those are the best.

  • @xaero212 no because IPS monitors have a slow refresh rate and are for workstations, professional graphic design, photoshopping etc. TFT and TN are still the best for gaming because of the higher refresh rate! These monitors are like workstation vs gaming graphics cards! the workstation IPS monitor is built for better color reproduction and stability while gaming TFT and TN monitors are built for speed!

  • @blowupuate13 Actually, for a gaming monitor you usually want a response time of 5ms or less, and this monitor has a response time of 6ms, so it probably wouldn't be bad for gaming. I was actually pretty surprised to see that.

  • @Vortex1988 yeah but mine has a 2ms response time!

  • @blowupuate13 Lol, so does mine.

  • @xaero212

I have a Dell Ultrasharp which is an e-IPS monitor and I game on it all the time. It's my primary monitor and I use it for everything from watching movies to playing games.

There used to be a time when using IPS panels for anything other than photo work would be idiotic. But with the more "pro-sumer" oriented versions of IPS like e-IPS or P-IPS (as opposed to H-IPS which still has very bad response times) it's really hard NOT to recommend them for everyday use.

  • @xaero212 Kill yourself, kid.

  • @Jallandhara I'm not a kid but thanks for the compliment ;)

  • led better

  • lol your face is done

  • ProArt LOL It's a copyright company here in Hungary (like BSA at USA)

  • lolz @ 3:47 :D

  • You have forgotten to say "the cd driver, throw it away download the latest"

  • 1920x1200 16:10 ratio, finally, I am sick of the 1080p standard these days in monitors, it is ok fot TVs, but monitors can (and for me must) do more than 1080 vertical pixels. I mean, if back in the day 1600x1200 was the way to go, why upgrade and have less vertical pixels? Aniway, it is just the way I think, don't take me serious if you dont want to.
