  • how hard is this Etude?

  • It's such a gorgeous piece, very dramatic and expressive. I think you did a great job. :)

  • and speaking of techniques solutions, it won't do any bad looking up on cortot's work suggestions for chopin's etudes. They're rather hard, but they surely will do good.

  • well. Thats big words for someone who has no videos. Also how do you know its not the camera and thirdly the ocean etude is not easy, so she or he is definately an ameture. The calibre required to play this piece is somewhat phenomenal and you think you can abuse her/his work over the computer.. tutt tutt

By the way I thought your work was masterly.

well done on a wonderful performance

By the way I thought your piece

  • I wasn't abusing anyone's work over the computer. I know what it's like when you record something over video, and that the etude is not easy. That doesn' change the fact that this playing is at an amateur level, as you said. And that's fine, it's nice there are people who enjoy playing the piano. Good luck

  • So I'll translate for uhrkraft. He means to basically pause at the thumb pinky switch. That's how I practiced this.

  • Thats exactly my problem. If you hear ming it sucks so much cause I keep pausing. but I'm glad to hear that someone plays it like me.

  • whats that ?

  • man, ur pretty good.. i cant even get the first arrpeggio down right =P

  • this song is so tiring to play x_x

  • Very nice playing indeed :) to bad the melody fell away for a moment but it's hard to keep concentrating on the melody if you have to watch for your hands to not miss too much notes in this piece... I quited this piece because I got tired of reading (I play for 5 years now but am a very louzy reader :S)

  • The key is the same as for every difficult piano piece: Study a lot to find a way to play it relaxed. that's one very important thing that took about 5 months for me to do. After that, it is as difficult to play the first page as it is to play the entire piece... if you mastered the first page arppegios, the rest is a matter of stamina.

  • what is the key into learning this piece? I want to play it. How long did it take you to perfect the first page ?

  • This is also my favourite Etude, and I think you played it really well !! It sounds lovely.

  • Go Brazil.

  • man this composition rules! capturing!

  • Thanks for your comments! I'll try to find somoeone else to record my videos next time.

  • I agree. You played well. Don't let those "piano experts" come through and try to berate you on your playing

  • You should have someone else record you so that you can get different views of this piece. The range of notes is magnificent, i enjoyed watching and listening to this, a few mistakes but i understand, unlike some other people on youtube. Piano is very hard and you are very good.
