Yeah you got a point about the 3 series, although I think the E36 Evo, E46 CSL and the E92 are pretty damn raw if a tad luxurious. Still can't match the fun of the E30 though. (I got an E36 M3 Evo, so that's how I know. 200,000 miles and still throwin down) lol.
Why is the boxster the best two seat roadster? (that people can actually use)
Because its mid-engined! thats what separates it from all the other cars in its class. The lotus elise, mid-engined, and also very highly regarded. See the similarities? is there such thing as a bad mid-engined car?
no way it was a damn good car. Looked like a ferrari and brought a true mid-engined car to the masses. Lots of power too. How is it big? compared to kei cars yes but what else?
DualofChaos. I wouldn't necessarily say it looked like a Ferrari, but it was inspired by Ferrari. What I meant was, the original was raw and visceral, the second was just too soft, and the last reincarnation went straight back to its roots, and became serious once again. That's more or less what I meant. :)
i think that all three generations were good sports cars. Yeah the original was raw but so was the original 3 series and almost every other sports car. The first is always the best, maybe not entirely, but in some way.
true...S2000 better handling so you can still wave goodbye! Driving in a straight line is not being able to drive...dont know if you are american but drag racing? come on man...Initial D all the way lol
lol...insulting me really enfasizes your lack of argumentation...I was comparing two cars and then you just say well what if you consider the other version...come on man... its like oranges vs lemons but what if you consider limes hei? facepalm!
It didn't *smoke* them. All three times were within .4 seconds of each other, and given the fact that the test was done in the (very) wet, the Boxster and the Z4 automatically had the advantage with traction control and more weight on the back wheels. They were actually pretty much even. I'll wager that on a dry track the S2000 would inch ahead. (of the older versions, of course.. the new versions, probably not) The only places the S2000 lacks are the interior and the way the top folds.
The Boxster, great car but i'd have the S version.
To all those who say that this is a Porsche for the poor: Drive one and you will be blown away. A mid-engined car like the boxster is racelike. The 911 is arse-engined, do like it though.
If i had the choice of buying a full-option Boxster S or a 1/2/3 year old 911 Carrera 2, i'd still have the Boxster.
totally agree, a boxster isnt for the poor, people who say that its for the poor are the ones who like judgin but probably can't even afford a boxster, let alone 911
Zed4 will soon be Zed5, but Boxter will be Boxter.
If you cant afford the Boxter you can always settle for the Z4!!!!

That Jason Plato sure can drive that Z4 well.

S200 has better handling? youre an idiot..
Tell me why when Top Gear put the standard Boxster against the S2000 and BMW Z4 it still smoked both of them?
Imagine what the S would do to it.

Not so much insulting you, more like 'emphasising' my point that even the standard Boxster runs rings around that S2000.

cheers for the spell check...im not a native speaker! OK noted...i just dont agree with you.
EctomorphicDude26 2 years ago
Whats not to agree?.. Top gear put them head to head around the track.. The standard boxster beats both the Z4 3.0l and the S2000 easily..
Trust me, if you drive a carrera or boxster you will know what that Porsche magic is.

Where are you getting 6.5 seconds? Maybe you're thinking 5.6?
