  • I'm just at the end of my first year in college, studying computing and IT (among other things). I would absolutely love, to study computer forensics in Teeside Uni, hope I can, after A2. =)

  • Can someone explain how they attack the encryption password from the memory? So using programs like truecrypt is useless if someone gets a hold of your hard drive?

  • If a file has been overwritten then it is highly unlikely you will get it back...many software recovery companies have said even overwriting a file with "0"'s just once cannot be retreived.

    although military standard is 7 overwrites

  • No it doesn't unallocated space is when you partition your drive without formating it

    the "deleted" file just gets flagged as deleted
