Hello Rey,.........It all depends on your area...You have to check your local ordinances....Some cities & towns have made an ordinance against detecting...Most hae not....You have to check the law in your own area...Good Luck & Happy Hunting....Ordinaces Permiting
@219erman My friend, what branch of government do I specifically go to, to inquire about its ordinances regarding detecting and digging tiny holes to retrieve coins?
ThePrayerHotline ..You can call or visit the cities local police department...Ask if there is a city ordinance against meteal detecting that cities parks..I don't see the neccesity in asking about digging holes..That comes with metal detecting...Be neat.
@219erman Thank you so much, you have been so very helpful. This should be enough info to get me started. No good site to hunt in Mchenry county but got to be familiar first with what my metal detector can do before I invest in trips and joining a club. Best of luck to you
As always, enjoyed your video. You guys really cleaned up on the Indians. Like the token too, unusual. Thanks for taking the time to video, it was great going with you on the trip.
Hey Dave - I didnt know if you needed any help on the info - thanks for asking - Occupation Tax is the same today as it was in the 1930;s , businesses collect tax from us and then as business owners they pay the county the tax they collect :Illinois started the collection of sales tax via the use of fractional sales tax tokens in 1933. The sales tax token is generally found in denominations of mills or 1/10th of one cent. Your token is one of the first issued in the 1930's . Thanks my friend
You may know this info - the token is aluminum - it is a retailers occupation token, also known as a sales tax token, could be used to pay the fractional taxes that were charged on small purchases.
Great video Dave! I see you guys were back in "the spot"... lootin' that hill side some more, ay? Well... I guess you must have pillaged it too much the last time you were there ;-) Nice job with covering your holes back up! Congrats on the wheaties and IH and Buff! All good finds. Also the tax token is cool... I got one but yours is nicer!
Yeah ,I hunted by the same spot I found 2 silver at when we were there a couple weeks ago....Tracy stopped gridding by a tree(in the area he found 3 of his 4 silver last time)..So he could try another spot for a while...Mike moved up a little & just 3 foot on the other side of that tree ...He found 3 Indians....LOL.....Tracy just rolled his eyes and said "serves me right...I shoulda stayed there a while longer ' LOL
Glad you guys enjoyed it. I certainly won't complain about finding the indian, buffalo and 9 wheats....Sometimes we get silver ,sometimes not. Working 6 days a week lately. So I only get to hunt on Sundays now...I will still try to get a movie every week or 2 till the weather gets too bad.....Take care all,and ..Get out there and dig while the weather cooperates.
Yep, the silver was hiding from (almost) everyone today. But you made some nice finds. The token is cool. The Indian & Buffalo. Nice video, thank you Dave.
My friend, does one require a permit to do metal detecting and a little bit digging like the one you did on a park on this video.
