This comment has nothing to do with W. E. B. Du Bois's message of "double-consciousness." Read the book, "Souls of Black Folk." Lil Wayne has absolutely nothing to do with the double-consciousness that Du Bois is talking about...

Do you think it's more important to keep your own and breakdown stereotypes of stupidity? if lil wayne had come on the program with the same swagger and had something intelligent to say it might start to breakdown this stereotype that anyone who looks and acts like he does is uneducated. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Also, i think DB was talking about a burden that has left the community in confusion, something that adds to the struggle and that creates the proper way to act, much respect!

obama has a sense of entitlement because he was brought up by his white family he wasnt taught to think of himself as inferior- hence he can just be himself all the time he doesnt have to put on an act with anyone because he doesnt deem himself inferior to others.

Think wayne was trying to set an example by perception. He dressed for what -he- thought as accepting to the people. Another example is, when some entertainers or athletes are brought onto a stage like letterman or some event. They walk semi-hunch back. They do it to dampen the effect of intimidation that whites perceive of us. So, wayne dampen the 'swag' down. Inadvertently condescend to the eyes of whites. Obama is a poor example to use. Better example is Janks Morton. Look him up.
