It's unbelievable that WWF does not distinguish between a tragedy and an act of evil. The 2004 tsunami was a tragedy, while 911 was an act of evil. That something so obvious needs to be stated, reinforces how the environmental movement is morally bankrupt. This ad is obscene.
It's a powerful advert. They coulda done many like showing a big bomber going over hiroshima or nagasaki afterwards showing mushroom clouds. But the 9/11 attacks sticks in recent minds and it is thought provoking.

Hydrogen bombs are intimidating, not effective. Air raids killed way more people than hydrogen bombs, and natural disasters still succeed in killing more than anything we have mustered in the past. The only reason 9/11 was big was because people opened their eyes and realized that they were at risk in their happy little bubble. Nature is much more powerful than us, and has the capability to kill all of us under the right conditions. Get a reality check yourself. Ignorant American.

WWF do fantastic work all over the world; whilst I'm not excusing the one idiot in their Brazil office who approved the ad agency's pitch, it won't stop me supporting the critical conservation and influencing they do.
I want to defend and support the makers of this wonderful advertisement campaign. If it takes THAT to wake people up from the lies of the fossil fuel industry and the conservative agenda: So be it.

It is not important how catastrophy is big, important is power of media story cover. For example Titanic was almoust nothing compare to William Gustloff, but movies about that I did not see. Terrorism was not so important theme for USA media before 9/11. Smaller accidents in USA have much better media cover than huge accidents in Asia or Africa.
