i hate running through tall trees then u turn around and u getting chased by 3 bears, all i was thinking was " wherz my horse, whers my horse, call my horse omg im gonna die!!! omg my black horse is runnin away form me" im calling it and it keeps running away from me, wtf i finaly get on my horse and the bear kills my horse. i pull out my shot gun and dead eye all 3 is the face, hard to beilive but i did it, i waz freeking out, is it ok that im a girl and can do crazy stuff on rdr?

You don't really need to use guns or bait, just go to Great Plains and gallop there until one of them cougars start chasing you. use your horse to run them over no more than 2-3 times, and use a War horse bcoz its very strong and does not die easily. after a couple of good run the cougar will start to running away from you, chase it and wait for it to slow down and be sure to have your knife ready and when you see your opportunity, shank the bastard...

God, the cougars in this game are so cool..... i love how they jump out of the blue and just maul you in two seconds XD. They remind me of the raptors in Jurassic Park because of their steath and ferocity.They are deadly foes ^^

There is also a house up in the snowy mountains north from the bear camps, that spawns cougars quite often, you can hang around in the doorway and eventually a cougar may come in the door or walk past it, then you can just stab the thing (they charge you, it takes longer for them to turn than it will for you to stab).

I also know an easy way to do it. Sometimes there are cougars (mostly one or two) walking around on Beecher's Hope. You can just attack them with your knife, they won't attack you as long as they are on your farm. That's how I completed the challenge.

then some asshole on a horse came riding by and was being chased by ANOTHER cougar and I tried to do the same, failed, rolled out of the way, pulled out my double barrel and put both barrels into the cougars face..

I got 2 cougar kills just with knife today when I was riding up to fort mercer, I stopped to help a stranger gettin mauled by wolves, then a damn cougar killed my horse, so I turned to pull out my pistol and it had my fucken knife equipped so I kept pressin the trigger because I thought it was my pistol and killed the cougar in mid air LOL..then another one jumped out at me as I was running up the road and I did the same thing, was pretty fucken epic..lol

I always used the pistol for the hind quarters - it's the knife part that's so hard lol Cougars are all over Rio Bravo/Repentence Rock area. I notice when my horse starts naying that one's usually coming up somewhere (usually from behind).

However, I killed them with ease with one shot from horseback, then I followed them an used the knife from horseback too.

I usually ride my horse through cougar country until i hear one behind me, then i lasso it, circle to its backside, hop off the horse, switch to knife and stab away. The cougars will stay there shaking their head for a couple extra seconds as if it still has the lasso around it.

the sure fire way to kill a cougar with a knife is to, (1) DONT STOP MOVING!!! Dodge every attack by simply running outta the way... (2) GIVE CHASE!!! CHASE THE DAM THING DOWN... Try and corrner it if u can... (3) When attacking, tap both triggers at the same time repeadely... This will lock on and kill much quicker... Simple.
