  • fucking prick

  • youre smart and well done on the references

Still if God made universe is he eternal, why is it ok to have an eternal god but not ok to have a non sentient eternal existance

This is a pretty deep rabbit hole.... if there is a lesson. YOU CANT RATIONALISE FOR OR AGAINST GOD USING LOGIC .... you wind up at a paradox

    BUT

You can rationalise why YOU (a human being with limited information) believe and make a decent argument

  • Before mass exists in essence there is no time, any amount of "time" relative to a massless object where there is no other mass in existence is effectively 0 time. The only trouble is we then have to times infinity by 0 which is a meaningless calculation since we cannot use infinity as a number. There are plenty of other theories, but you have to say something has always existed, or something was created out of nothing, but some theories make valid predictions about our own universe.

  • I do agree that the universe is finite, but I think ur argument is fallacious. We can think of an infinite past for the universe if we look at the time dimension as just that--a dimension. If u have a rod of infinite length, for example, yes, it would require an infinite amt of time to reach a particular point on the rod from the "beginning" infinitely long ago, but that doesn't mean that point doesn't exist. U and i are r 4D world sheets existing in a finite region along the temporal dimension.

  • Where is the naturalist assertion the universe causes itself?

    So why does anything exist?

How does positing a magic man in the sky help? Then you have to explain something even more complex. This is one of the fatal flaws in the intelligent design fraud - intelligent design commits you to an infinite regress of designers.

  • Regardless of religions, think after you exist by the legacy you leave, if Jesus is not the truth and The holy spirit is not in You you did not really exist , you will never know, but what a wonder it is that a God made us and provided an invitation for you to choose good or evil, knowing you actually will choose good everytime! and then as you get to know Him you'll live an eternal life by choice.watch the question, get the website and read the rest. Peace. Blessings

  • Prof. Frank J. Tipler demonstrates that the Omega Point (i.e., God) is an unavoidable consequence of the known laws of physics. The only way to avoid this conclusion is to reject the known laws of physics (of which have been confirmed by every experiment to date), and hence reject empirical science. For that and the quantum gravity TOE, see F. J. Tipler, "The structure of the world from pure numbers," Rep. Prog. Phys., Vol. 68, No. 4 (April 2005), pp. 897-964; available on Tipler's website.

  • hmmm u can have an infinite amount of time though if u have another infinite quantity, kinda like xenos arrow concept... also we're viewing time like its linear, for example if time was viewed as a circle then you could have both a finite amount of time and yet an infinite amount of time, now imagine many different infinites to plant against the time axis and also a shape with much more complex properties then a circle

  • I think you mean Zeno's motion paradox, am I right? Or are you talking about something else?

  • lol yea typo

  • Okay, Zeno did not prove the possibility of an actually infinite number of contingent things, but rather, a potentially infinite number of things. Like, the number of things could go on forever, but they didn't actually do so. David Hilbert proved with his hotel analogy that an actually infinite number of contingent things (like moments in time) cannot exist in reality.

  • lol o that hotel thing where the u have to make room for the next person? mm i dont like that analogy but i'll accept that its true, however u can have perceivebely finite something to be infinite, and that infinite something can also be finite, like that circle concept where it never ends, never starts, still has finite properties but infinite possibilities

  • Again, a circle is an example of a potentially infinite thing, not an actually infinite number of contingent things.

  • @AbdielAbiram actually, a circle (and a line) are both examples of an infinite number of point. In Hilbert's hotel, there ARE an infinite number of floors, what he "proved" (actually what calculus proves) is that an infinite number of objects (floors of a hotel in this case) can fit into a finite volume of space as long as the size of those objects (the height of the floors) decrease enough from one object to the next.

  • @AbdielAbiram If an actual infinite cannot exist, does it follow that God cannot exist? If nothing can only come from nothing, does it follow that there is no such a thing as a God that can create out of nothing? Is the First Cause argument for the existence of God begging the question?

  • @SousukePanic not so, a circle in time would only create a time loop in which time itself is finite yet percieved as infinite, though only looping for infinity. not true infinite time.

  • Respond to this video... Just a side thought to add to my previous. maybe that would work if time were instead perceived as a point. infinite, yet never repeating.

  • the quality of the video sucks.

    just kidding.

    good video.

  • lol
