50K per person over 6 yrs is about 8K per year. Will 8K bring a relative back from suicide? Will 8K erase bring back culture/language/respect that has been stripped away? Money isn't the problem.
Are you familiar with this speech by Gerry Gambill at a conference on Human Rights at Tobique Reserve in New Brunswick, in August, 1958? The Art of Stealing Human Rights
@mukwanbising Yes, John Trudell. I never get tired of listening/watching him. Russell Means as well, not sure but I think he has cancer, hope I'm mistaken but he's looking pretty thin.
The lack of education on First Nations history in schools has bred an accepted ignorance about First Nations people. When a race or culture does not accept a people for who they are, they start to fear what they see or perceive as being threatening. Thus, to make themselves feel better about this uncomfortable fear, they begin to hate. It is this hate that destorys all hope of reconciliation....or empathy. Therefore, Ignorance breeds fear, fear breeds hatred and hatred breeds prejudice.
We'd be hard pressed to see any comment surpass the agonizing truths you've presented.
Thanks mukwanbising, truth, common sense and reality are the "only componants" that should be placed on any table. Transparency is only required of the Indigenous NOT the crown corporation. The Jesuits have all Indigenous peoples and their languages completely documented from the inside out. The Vatican holds the plunder. The crown recieves it's dicktat from the City of London.
The carefully orchastrated education system? See: Rockefeller. Was designed to indoctrinate and rob the future generation. Teach them to choke themselves. Mass indoctrination is what everyone has succumbed to. Understanding this disgusting aspect...opens the whole festering boil!!! It's sicker than sick!
Collective ignorance will continue to produce exactly what it was designed to produce, selfishness and bigotry. Truth and reality? CLASS DISMISSED.
@trails46 The one guy who truely opened my eyes is John Trudell. He see's this 'modern' world for what it is. If you haven't heard of him, check out his video's on Youtube. A lot of his ideas were actually thoughts of what I had been having for years.

Google: Canada is a Corporation Under UK Queen
Read it and weep and now you will be able to understand the position of the Indigenous and why our sovereignty is an enormous block to the corporate manuvering across Turtle Island.
This was an excellent interview by both Mansbridge and Shawn Atleo. "But It's been in the House of Commons for decades."
"We lurch from crisis to crisis."
The Department of Indian Affairs? Research the history of the department. Go in and have a look at their directories of staff. You want to see where the billions go? Ask any Elder and they'll tell you who's been getting what for generations.
I won't pretend to know everything about this issue but...
$50,000 per person? Is there any other possible way to classify this situation than to call it mismanagement? If your best response is to call that "finger pointing" then clearly that's the case.
@sethwright Mismanagement? I don't suppose you are aware of the corporation called Canada, she's listed on the New York Stock Exchange. I wonder whose socks will be knocked off by that FACT and can they truly comprehend what that REALLY means.

It's December 2nd. All First Nations need to see this interview. Get your faces on and book it.
Mansbridge One on One has not uploaded the episode on his site yet.
There is much we as Indigenous people have to say and no longer will we be subjected to media bias and outright historical censorship.
