OH what the hey... I'll give this a try. I remember seeing bits and pieces of this when I was younger but I never knew what it was from. Now I'm curious.
hated the movie, but loved the cartoon series, i remember watching this when was stilla young teengager, it came out once a week. Every time it showed, i would make and eat lamb chops. Although i'm older now, but watching this again does make me feel a little bit younger.

Godzilla fan that I am, the american 1998 movie version is not that good but not too bad either

How come in the first couple of episodes of this show, the military uses real guns like /m16's, but later in the show they change to fake lazer guns that shouldn't be invented in their lifetime?
@AK107DX The real reason is because around the time, Americans banned any despiction of real weaponry for childrens' cartoons. Those censor wusses.
The in-plot reason was them using farfetched weaponry to take-on Kaiju, which makes sense from the usual Godzilla point of view where the Japanese army create crazy shenanigans to fight off Godzilla, King Ghidora, etc.
Besides, as per the Millenium Series, the movie (and, by extension, cartoon) is part of the Godzilla universe, so it makes sense.

Why dont we get permission to continue the series, but better now that we have better technology then they did also add more monsters and even another battle with king kong and how they battle for new york and mahhatan with the whole cast and the directors
Basically, the series just takes place after the movie. That's why they didn't create the second movie because the cartoon tells what happen with the last egg. Cool!
@coviron21 It's sort of a long running sequel; the series picks up right after the end of the American film. Animated Godzilla is the only surviving offspring of the one in the movie.
@coviron21 the series was pretty much a sequel to the movie with a bunch of collective events cause the movie wasn't good enough to get an actually theatrical sequel....In My Opinion at least that's the conclusion i can think of

1. This series is far superior to the movie it's based off. The characters aren't as annoying and Godzilla isn't a little wuss who gets easily taken out by a few dinky missiles.

@DinoFreakUSA They were planning to where Zilla wouls fight a giant mutated bee or some insect. Since the movie got BAD reviews SONY lost interest and lost their rights in 2003 I believe. So no sequel.
The original Zilla didn't have fire breath. He could make cars explode if he roared next to them, but he didn't have fire breath. Zilla Jr. in this series is the "special" one of Zilla's offspring, it seems, as Jr. not only has the atomic breath, but he's barren as well.
Actually I think he did. The first time the military chased him in the movie he used his fire breath to destroy two military vehicles. It was the only time in the movie when he used it. Another time he roared and some cars were tossed in the air and exploded but other than that there was nothing.

1. This series is far superior to the movie it's based off. The characters aren't as annoying and Godzilla isn't a little wuss who gets easily taken out by a few dinky missiles.
2. GODDAMN I wish I had a giant mutant reptile as a pet/slave/adopted child!

because it was the suck ass Tri-Star Zilla, which is NOT Godzilla, King of the Monsters, but a lame sucky piece of crap. Therefore, the military had no choice but to euthanize the whole lot. HOORAY FOR THE ARMY!!!

weeeeell....considering the fact that she was destroying Manhatten and when her babies got out they'd do the same thing...but since this was more of a "What would happen if Godzilla was REALLY REALLY real" I guess they could have just trapped or tranquilized the poor thing and moved her and her babies to a holding fasility until they could ocme up with a better containment plan. IDK, just a thought.

@DinoFreakUSA They were planning to where Zilla wouls fight a giant mutated bee or some insect. Since the movie got BAD reviews SONY lost interest and lost their rights in 2003 I believe. So no sequel.

The original Zilla didn't have fire breath. He could make cars explode if he roared next to them, but he didn't have fire breath. Zilla Jr. in this series is the "special" one of Zilla's offspring, it seems, as Jr. not only has the atomic breath, but he's barren as well.

Actually I think he did. The first time the military chased him in the movie he used his fire breath to destroy two military vehicles. It was the only time in the movie when he used it. Another time he roared and some cars were tossed in the air and exploded but other than that there was nothing.
