I came across the Mathiew Shepard story by accident. Then decided to see what Youtube had on it. After watching this video I sat and sobbed . Know one alive should have to suffer because of others opinions, differences and dislikes. God , Jesus loved and loves all people as his children. To see how others take anothers life for no reason has got to be frustrating for God to see .

I just want to say that there is so much hatred in the world, and, unfortunately, this very hatred is what makes us human. I believe in God, and I, too, am a gay male, but I wish someone could explain to me how being gay is a sin in the eyes of our Lord; yet, hating someone because he's gay is not?! This wasn't about God, Matthew had God with him. I myself do not believe in God, but those that killed him did not either. They believed in hate like that ignorant F...... Fred Phelps. The point is, we can not hate what we ourselves are...human beings. We all have different lives, even than those we are like. It takes understanding to realize this.

Very touching, but also please remember that our transgender loved ones are also victims of hate, beaten and murdered too. Please work to end hate against them also.

Gabi, no 10 minute video could ever truly do justice for all the loved ones who have been lost due to hate. For the use that the video was for, we tried to use some of the most identifiable and known names with a few more included to show the numbers. People took note of the names they didn't know and they asked questions; it made them think. That, ultimately, is what we wanted people to do: To think about hate and what it does to families, friends and people.

A very moving video. I remember vividly the news about Matthew. The pain and anger many people felt when the story broke. What happened to that young man should not happen to anyone. Hate must stop! Sadly it has not.

The father of Matthew Shepherd gave the most moving statement I've heard about a deceased loved one. His son did not deserve to be beaten and killed. I wish there was not so much hatred for us gays. We are born gay just as straights are born straight. We are all here to learn to love each other despite our differences - NOT KILL WHAT WE DON'T AGREE WITH OR UNDERSTAND.
