I don't recommend this battle system, at least now, since it's old and there are much better ones that can be found on Google. If you've got a bit more experience in rmxp you could try the great Minkoff Side View Animated Battle System or the just as good CTB by Charlie Fleed.

These are pretty much the 2 best sideview battle scripts (IMO) for rpg maker xp

IF you are a bit unexperienced, disregard this post, and experiment with other scripts =)

everyone listen. google RICE FIELD BATTLE SYSTEM then go to the one at rpg forum its the best side view battle script ever. copy and paste it above main in ur script editor and play. this BS allows u to see ur weapon when u attack too. kinda awesome really. Similar to early Final Fantasy games.

The script is great, except when something has a lot of hp. Then it takes forever for the bar to go down, and nothing else happens till its done. I guess I will just downscale hp/damage in my rpg.

I had no idea that there existed "how to unpack my script" script tutorials. ...guaranted by the AUTHOR to be trojan free. ...but apparently not BUG free, so we can't really use it in our game, apparently, and there is no fix for it (as of 2 months ago).

@yoshimtu The difference between a bat and a txt is just the file extension. If you rename a txt into a bat, it will work as a bat. This is due to your OS treating it differently. In this case, RPG Maker will treat that txt file as a script, a program, a bat file. You are safe to READ txt files, but don't RUN them.

Why would this guy who bothers to create tutorials on RPG Maker want to condemn his subscribers by giving them a virus? Why would an RTP code (that I bothered to check through) have the power to create a virus? Why would none of the 24,000 viewers report a virus? You can't even get a virus through the methods in the video. You must have some sort of misinformation.

YouTube doesn't always suggest good videos, but me finding this video is because he has misleadingly called this video "script TUTORIAL". Instructions on how to download his script, isn't even remotely a "script tutorial". I actually wanted to learn scripting, but after seeing this video, I kinda lost all will to live along with all will to write scripts for RPG Maker.

Here's how to make an event change automatically: Select the event and insert at the end of the list: 'Control Self-Switch' and select one of the four letters. Next, create a new page with your choice of graphic and then create what you want it to say. now people u all understand tht sum people are having troble with this custom script, now heres my opion on it, those who complain it dont work are the following:

1) to stupid to follow instuctions

2) there current RPG maker XP may be curropted, this is just a guess but any virus CAN! attck RPG maker's and the virus made it so the script dnt work

3) if those dnt work thn ur screw thn i suggest a diffrent RPG maker all 2geva, e.g VX, or a erlier version
