Hey Pacer fans this trade has turned out to be highway robbery, you owe the Raptors down the line, although JO was as good as he could be in TO, and always gave 100%
I met Roy before he went to Georgetown. He use to come to the Boys and Girl Club in Silver Spring MD. Now he is gong to the Indiana Pacers. He was the 17th NBA draft pick.
He needs to be more aggresive and he needs to get a bit quicker. Other then that he has great size at around 7 foot 1 and 280 pounds. Also, you can't deny his soft touch in the paint and his post offense is like 8.5/10.
Big Indy fan. Hibbert and Bayless were great pick ups, but again Larry Bird had to mess it up. B-RUsh is a good player but Bayless was the steal of the draft and potential allstar talent.
raptors are also planning to get alex english who is a crazy PG who plays for team canada. his highest points was 48 points and 19 assits against usa in 2006.
wtf alex english the ast coach of raptors? and one of the best scores in the NBA? do u mean carl english? and i dobut raptors will ever get him he sucks ass
i would say the deal is most likely going through nad he is definately coming to indiana, trading jermaine and getting hibbert is actually pretty good...plus we get a future allstar in t.j. ford!
@KLM2308 That trade has turned out to be worse than Vnce Carter for Alonzo Morning, dang you American teams fleece us on trades. Hibbert had 28 on 10 for 17 in the opener.
Look at the big games that Hibbert plays in and you'll see that he always gets a double-double with 2+ blocks. Look what he did in March last year in Georgetown's FF run - he had 13-11-6 blocks against UNC, he outplayed Greg Oden in the FF loss.
6 rebounds may not look impressive, but when the pressure is on, Hibbert gets the job done.
Patrick Ewing averaged 14 and 7 his senior year- and is on his way (with another late bloomer, Olajuwon- to the hall of fame)- Roys defense is what makes him most valuable- his offense is a work in progress, and he's a great passer- his numbers suffer beacause of the 1)Princeton offense 2)constantly double/triple teamed or fighting a collapsed zone that he wont see in the pros+ g'town regularly has 4 or 5 players in double figures AND they're a low scoring team- WAY too soon to write him off ...
Hibbert is going to be a terrible pro. He is going to be one of those guys that gets drafted high and he will just get traded around his whole career. He will average like 8ppg and 5rpg his hole career. If you are 7'2 in college and a senior, you should average 20 and 10, not 12 and 7. He sucks, hes to slow, and is just bad.
hes only good in college cause hes 7'2. hes like loren woods from the 2001 arizona team. he dominated in college cause he was a 7 footer, then got to the nba and found out he had a lot of company up there.not to mention hibbert is physically weak....hes gonna get thrown around by the likes of ben wallace and dwight howard.
Yao is 7'5 and physically weak but yet he can get the job done. Yao usually struggles when he places the more bigger and dominant centers but still gets the job done. But Hibbert is a really good defender, he is also unselfish and doesn't take a lot of shots, he averages around 8 shots a game. But when he takes a lot of shots he's really good. Only time can tell how good he will be in the pros.
yao is 7'6 and the reason that he gets the job done is because hes about 5 inches taller than the average center he faces. at 7'2, hibbert will have little or no height advantage in the nba. the 4 inches of height difference between yao and hibbert is a lot. thats an inch more than the difference between t mac(6'8) and duncan(6'11). so to compare yao and hibbert makes no sense.
im not a hibbert fan at all. from what ive seen, he doesn't seem to be that athletic (which seems to be a requirement if youre playing in the nba these days). you also mentioned something else i have against him: he seems to lack that killer instinct. 8 shots a game? shouldnt he be dominating if he were that good? theres no reason a future nba stud (like most predict him to be) should have as many single digit scoring games as him. i wish him luck, but i don't see him developing into an nba star
Yao isn't that physically weak.....who are you comparing him to? Maybe compared to shaq and dwight howard, but he's still very strong compared to most others.
Hibbert is good, and I think if he works on his quickness he'll be All-Star material...not predictions yet but when he enters the NBA, he'll be a traditional, fill the paint center...nothing more...he's a low post scorer and amazing defender, unless he gets in foul trouble.
it is really disturbing that hibbert doesnt get as much credit as he should... In my opinion he is the best center in college and should be one of the all star centers in the nba along with bynum, oden, and howard in the near future.
lol I like how you list who you think all star centers in the nba are- bynum is not, and oden hasn't played a game yet. You could have said Amare Stoudemire, Tim Duncan, or even Emeka Okafor. Anyhow Hibbert isnt strong enough to overpower centers in the nba, and is too slow for the nba game. Hibbert's production will be similar to Shelden Williams.
I think he meant that Bynum, Oden, and Howard are all possible future all star centers, and that hibbert can join them in that category.
But I agree, that was confusing.
And Georgetown has a reputation for building good centers. Just look at David Robinson and that one dude who plays for the Rockets. Fuck, what was his name!?
Who cares about the National Boring Association....ROY IS BACK AT GEORGETOWN!!!! Can't wait for next season...the Verizon Center is going to be rockin'!!!
lol come on now sure it's JUST lay ups, but this is also just ONE highlight reel lol. I say Roy can be a very dominating force in the NBA when he gets there. I say this guy has great IQ for the game and great post moves. The Diesel is still a dominator in the paint.
Hibbert or Noah for the Bulls? I say Hibbert. We'll need him for Shaq and subsequently Tim Duncan for the finals next year. Tyrus Thomas is better than Noah.
Bulls get the knicks pick this year, ill take oden or hibbert. we got a 1.9% chance of getting the top pick which will be oden but it could happen. GO BULLS
Hibbert is better skilled offensively right now. Oden is more athletic and a better shotblocker and rebounder. Oden's upside is tremendous. And I hate the cheating scumbags otherwise known as Ohio State.
lol, oden...a no brainer...but if hibbert and GU get by OSU and Hibbert neutralizes Oden, Hibbert can improve his draft stock to a top 10, top 8 area...
Anyone who says hibbert over oden doesn't watch or know a thing about basketball. Hibbert is a pretty good big guy in the college level, Oden is the best Big guy in College.
he can do floaters.

He only averages like 26 minutes and the slow pace of the Princeton offense hurts his rebounding numbers.
The Raptors could really use his size, length, and most importantly his defense.
