Learn to actually enjoy watching opera while you're there, instead of distracting everyone else by filming. I can't believe you were doing this the entire time, and in the orchestra. I would have smacked you over the head.
@Justino111 No you don't quite get it, sorry, so listen to something else, like Bah-Bah Black Sheep, The Barney Song etc. oh and most importantly, keep up that impressive mis-judgement of the fine arts you possess, it is very entertaining.
Glass does not, as you say 'copy and paste 30 second clips'. He uses small musical ideas and develops them very gradually over long periods of time. That's the style of American Minimalism. Don't like it? Don't listen to it. But the fact that you don't like it doesn't mean it's crap, or that there's no artistic merit to Glass' music.
Don't act like people who like modern music are pretentious just because you don't get off on it. That makes you look like the pretentious one.
thank you for posting this...it was like visiting an old friend. To have attended this production in April at the Met stands as a high point in my life. It was a transcendental production.

Where can I buy a DVD of this version?
zrshwe 5 months ago
@zrshwe From the Met opera shop or Amazon... but probably not until September 2013 :(
There was also a live broadcast in many movie theatres across the US and in Canada this afternoon, which will be shown as an encore January 11th.

no, it's not like that.
I do get it. It's BAD, superficial, an amalgamation of musical cliches and redundant and irrelevant sensations.
Yes, I get it. It's bad. Even Britney Spears has more to offer.
