Annapurna is the deadliest mountain in the world. Around 40% of attempts have resulted in fatalities!

@giulene: I've never climbed it myself, but I've heard its the most avalanche prone 8000er and since you can't eliminate the risk of avalanches no matter how well prepared you are, it's a really deadly mountain. Lots of good climbers have died there.
