it depends on what you play man. telecasters aren't typically meant for more harder rock songs with distortion. that's why you don't waste your money and look into things before you buy them.

It's easy to know. The Fender '58 Telecaster had a multi-colored finish. It was given to him by Jeff Beck. He played it with the Yardbirds, and the earliest vids of Led Zep playing until about 1970. There are some BBC videos of him using the Tele onstage. People say that he switched to a Les Paul live for less hum. Also, it's fairly common knowledge that the Stairway solo for the studio album was played with his Telecaster.

Hey gbsngtr, just to let u kno Zeppelin recorded their, 3rd album i believe with a Fender Telecaster just FYI, lol but i do agree Les Paul is what u need for Zeppelin not necessarily any Gibson guitar, and nice playing victor

For recording, Jimmy Page mostly used a Telecaster. The first and second albums are almost entirely used with a Tele, and the Stairway solo on the almbum is also from a Tele.

Actually, not only did he use a telecaster in the early years, he recorded with one too. He only used the Les Paul because:

If you use single coils on stage, there is so much hum, you can't hear the guitar unless you have a hum cancelling pedal.

So he became known as "that guy who plays the Les Paul"

Oh, & on that country-rock-n-roll lick in the B-section, don't forget to do a bluesy bend on the C (3rd fret, A string) before you go back to the A, the have audio programs that will keep the same pitch but slow the track down. You're missing the F# in the rhythm part that is the figure behind the solo.. a-g, a-f#, not G twice. & in the B section it's a bent note on the lick on the g-string (A major pentatonic, kinda like an old country-rock n roll lick), not a pull-off as you played here. But keep working. You have potential.
