  • Battlecruiser Operational

  • "Heavy battlecruiser Prinz Eugen' LOL

  • if Hood had closed the range she would have stood a much better chance at survival. after prinz eugen scored a hit and Hood was straddled by Bismarck Holland got worried about the next incoming salvo and started to turn. if he had ordered the ship to continue forward things might have been different. this guy doesn't give Hood enough credit.

  • why in this top i don't see any russian nuclear battleship?

  • if its terran its op

  • For once we see a weapons video not filled with COD comments, but with starcraft comments!

    Who called in the fleet?

  • @brizihe h to the usky husky

  • @Akantorz12 But he plays protoss! it must be TLO doing his bc rush again.

  • In the Hood!

  • Hood was pretty but she was desperately obsolete compared to Bismarck

  • That's all fine and good, but... Will it blend?

  • Theres no such thing as a Hood class battlecruiser. Hood was a Admiral class battlecruiser.

  • @Lillie1986

Correct, she was an Admiral class battlecruiser and this list and it's info is poor.

  • 99.8% chance you won't survive as a crew member of the Hood

  • Who called in the fleet?

  • yes...but the important question is...does it have yamato researched?

  • battlecruiser operational!

  • Take it slow

  • 31 knots is bearly 30 miles/h or 60 km/h :|

  • @llVIU That would seem slow only if you're on land. If you're on water 30 knots would be a very good speed for a large ship.

  • pfff, glorification of war, wanted to see the real battle cruiser operational

  • I love how people are saying battler cruiser quotes.

  • battle cruiser operational.....buckle up!! lol!!!

  • Its A Trap!!!

  • ts got 15in guns stfu

  • I guess the yamato Cannon was NOT online...

  • The sinking of HOOD is typical of the English attitude. The Poms have spent too many decades living off and sitting on their laurels. That is why today, England as a world power of industry and war is nothing but a foot-note in history.

  • BATTLECRUISER OPERATIONAL :D

  • The british suck at micro tbh, else they would have used the yamato cannon against the bismarck

  • Wasn't the Hood sunk by the Bismarck?

  • @ROFLmao35216 Yes, but this is Hood-CLASS. The Hood was among the first of this class.

  • I heard they developed a new version of this battlecruiser (v 1.3) making it a heck lot faster.

  • what about the yamato?

  • What do you mean we are out of olives?

  • It ll be nice to have the equal amount of horse power on my car

  • it wasnt the deck amour.... sheesh at the range at whoich bismarck hit, the shell would had to have gone through the BELT

  • lets go this way really really fast, if something gets in our way, shoot it!

  • it only had to use the yamato cannon....

  • the bismark just killed the hood hehe german engenering power

  • @MrMEjustME How did the germans counter the yamato cannon? Maby with mass voidrays :^/

  • Crew 1,418! That's insane. How many crew modern naval watercraft?

  • Battlecruiser operational.

    All crews reporting..

Not equipped with shields? ...Well then, buckle up!

We are getting way behind schedule.

I really have to go, Number One.

    All crews reporting.

    Good day, commander.

    Hailing frequencies open.

  • Don’t panic, just grab hold of the nearest crew member. Oh, sorry dear.

    Whatever that means…

    Commencing bombardment

    Cauterize the area.

    Plasma Torpedoes loaded.

    Yamato Cannon online.

    Shields at maximum.

  • You hailed? Patching you through. Let’s go this way really, really fast. If something gets in our way, shoot it! Let’s hurry up and finish this attack. It’s raid night. What’s with all these blinky lights?” Flying this low always makes me nervous. Do svidaniya, don’t get any on ya! I’ve lost my hat! Swing around, we’ll pick it up We’re going down! Stay with the ship, I’m out! Where’s my escape pod? Ah, it’s happy hour. Wonderful! What do you mean we’re out of olives?
  • You Hail?

  • é uma cilada bino!

  • Where's my escape pod?

  • "I'm seeing double! Shoot them both!

  • ohh rly?

  • thumbs up if you were brought here by starcraft!

  • The Hood was actually an Admiral class. However the other planned three were cancelled making her the only one in the class.

  • The Yamato is loaded, and so am I...

  • Comment removed

  • screw bc's with a 1418 crew carrier only has 8

  • lol i thought it was a battlecruiser with a russian accent guy commander

  • It's a trap!

  • How's the hell this video related to SC2 Battlecruiser qui

  • The Hood was easier destroyed than a card house.

  • 1.03 Terrible, Terrible damage...

  • Fun fact: 95% of the comments here have nothing to do with the video, but with Starcraft II.

  • @BboyAgile I honstely expected a terran intergalactic spaceship equipped with a Yamato cannon dealing 1000 damage to the target unit or structure.

  • too bad the hood got raped by the bismark.

  • Carrier has arrived

  • @DakkonDS My Life for Aiur!

  • Thumbs up if you came here thinking this was a video devoted to the glorious Terran Battle Cruiser

  • And then the aircraft carrier made it obsolete.

  • Who called in the fleet?

  • "Weapons up, shields online" - battlecruiser

  • If something gets in our way, SHOOT IT!

  • I dont get this, 15 inch armour which is one of the best in this countdown but because it came up against the most modern and deadly ship in the word and lost due to being hit in the worst place possible it has terrible protection?

Armament 8 x 15inch guns, which is the same as the bismarc yet it gets that feeble score when the bismarc is nearly full?

    I call bullshit

  • @crazygingee HMS Hood was prior to WW2 a legend, which is why Bismarck sinking her with just 5 shells shattered her reputation.

  • @Jackneill45 ye but dont you find it odd that even though the Hood has armour and guns equal to the bismarck its rating thing at the end is absolutely pathetic compared to all other ships in this countdown. Also the fact that its 20 years older than the bismarck yet feilds equal guns and armour should grant it better firepower and protection ratings than the bismarck?

  • @crazygingee No, the Hood did not have the same armour protection as the Bismarck. 20 years of technological improvements combined with bad luck resulted in one lucky shot sinking her. Additionally in the same battle the Bismarck forced the Prince of Wales to retreate. In comparison it took two British Battleships, and their support ships over 2 and a half hours to sink the Bismarck.

  • @Jackneill45 but the hood was 20 years older so doesnt that mean it shouldnt be compaired to the bismarck in the first place? im not trying to be an asshole im just trying to point out that the hood was 20 years older yet fielded the same size guns and armour thickness but somehow has inferior ratings for both than the bismarck. Actually laughable is more like it

  • @crazygingee the Hood still served in WW2, along with many other WW1 battleships and battle Cruisers of the RN. That plus her fame, and the fact that she was first and formost a "Fighting ship" is why Hood is being compared to WW2 battleships. Also something that was not mentioned here is that Hood was overdue for a number of critical upgrades. One of which was re-inforced deck armour which could have altered Hoods fate.

  • Set a course, make it happen...

  • @Mabuhaylahatngsinge1 Love it!

  • That voice sounds like the one who did the voice of Brainiac in Superman TAS

  • i like the Norad II better...

  • Hood's armour was more than adequate...for when she was built, however advances in rangefinders, gunnery and fire control meant that Hood was well protected for closer range fire as was used during WW1, but suceptible to longer range plunging fire, as was used later when battleship engagement ranges increased. There will always be argument over what/who sank the Hood, Bismark or Eugen, penetrating hit or hit on ready ammo stores. When all is said and done, Hood and POW were badly handled.

  • they didn't finish the yamato cannon in time =(

  • IT'S A TRAP!

  • 2:40 It needed the weapon refit upgrade? maybe the army didn't have enough vespene gas.

  • LOL this was a serious promoted video haha

and people only came in to say Battlecruiser operational :D

  • Hailing Frequencies Open

  • y isnt it flying?

  • @kalee6 good question

  • Thumbs up if you got this from starcraft battlecruiser

  • Also, it was actually an Admiral class battlecruiser.

  • Why is hood in a top ten list? It went the way of an older ship, the Invincible. Ironic name, 'cause that one (like Hood) went down in only a couple hits due to poor deck armor. Oh well, some lessons you gotta learn twice.

  • take it slow......

  • "You hailed?"

    and

"Not equiped with shields?!?!! Well then buckle up!"

  • Comment removed

  • 1:03 Terrible, Terrible Damage

  • Be sure to support a battlecruiser fleet with several science vessels during the campaign!

  • a void ray can counter this battlecruiser, but theyre very good against the phoenix

  • i <3 reading these epic comments

  • "The Hood sank" doesn't do the horror of the Hood's death justice. It's Cordite magazines were touched off, causing it to burn through the ship, and blowing the ship in two. The real surprise should be that anyone made it off the ship alive.

  • he forgot to mention Yamato gun :D

  • This battlecruiser shoots, it destroys, but wait! It does more!

  • @kirkien It's a trap! Abandon ship!

  • Shields up, weapons online

  • Who called in the fleet?

  • TAKE IT SLOW...

  • lol at people bringing starcraft qoutes

  • Battle Cruiser operational, Yamato cannon online.

  • Recieving transmission, take it slow

  • let's finish this attack really really fast... we are running low on synergy...If something get's in our way, shot it... flying this slow always make me nervres... I've lost my hand, swing around, pick it up... the yamato cannon is charged, so I am... we're going down! stay with the ship, I'm out. where's my escape pod... I'm making an anouncement, I am drunk... dastdania, don't get yourself tuania...

  • BATTLE CRUISER OPERATIONAL, SHIELDS UP AND WEAPONS ONLINE!

  • Make it happen

  • No mention that the shell hit a magazine - same omition in the Bismark clip - these programmes have more spin than a rifle bullet.

  • @Twirlyhead

They're American military hype shows you can't expect too much ;)

  • "who called in the fleet"

  • @FleetCommandRG

I was going 2 say that XD

  • Battle Cruiser Operational.

  • Shields up, weapons online!

  • Battle Cruiser operational, Take it slow

  • BATTLECRUISER OPERATIONAL

  • @CaineMVCH WHO CALLED IN THE FLEET?

  • you sunk my battleship

  • Scerw Those Guns. Installs Some Yamato cAnnons. Now THAT'S a battle cruiser

  • @TheBlackDragonflight Battlecruiser Operational!

  • they defiantly dident micro that right

  • Battlecruiser operational.

  • @chirola449 too bad no one in the navy has reasearched yomato gun

  • @bmxconnor09 well it would have to be a japanese... get it yamato??

  • @alahad haha nice one :)

  • @chirola449 Who called in the fleet?

  • BATTLE CRUISER OPERATIONAL

  • About the same time that Hood was built, Vickers built a new battle cruiser for Japan called the Kongo. She was very similar to Hood in layout but was a bit smaller and carried 14" guns. The rest of the Knogo class was built in Japan. The four ships of the Kongo class were used extensively during WWII - particularly as carrier escorts because of their speed.

  • what! thats not battlecruiser! wheres the Russian guy saying "battle cruiser operational"? and why is it not flying!!!?

  • @Gdanohrukrodmmtefce

Yeah where is the Russian guy and where is the yamato cannon!!?!!?!?!!!!?!?!

  • in soveit russia the yammato drives you

  • Battle Cruiser operational

  • What a load of bollocks. "Low protection rating" my arse. A lucky shell went through the deck and hit the ammunition stores. If you got a shell through the deck of any ship, modern or older that would be the end of the story.

  • I understand the criteria - by which Americans and their stooge are the "top ten in the world bla-bla-bla" estimate!

    1. How much crap one's pants at the sight of the enemy

    2. Power farting crew

    3. Number of toilets

    4. Thickness of fat at the commander

    5. Quantity of hamburgers onboard

In this the United States and the first places all the time! (Only T-34(and AK-47) on the real merits had to admit) If you compare this to the technical criteria and their effectiveness - really suck ...

  • @silvermitriy yep and the russian/soviet navy totally outclassed the british and americans right?, what was the best russin battleship of wwII? was it the one sunk by one Ju 87? and the russina navy is first class now....in rust

  • Comment removed

  • @likesspice73 Are you really a fool, or pretend? Soviet Union during ww2 fought on GROUND! idiot! Russian soldiers saved the entire world! Baltic Fleet to the defense of Leningrad! Learn the history and geography! The British - at the end of the war fussed only - when the USSR's victory became apparent ... America except the Navy and Air Force did not have time - with a small state fought so long - and at the end of the war on peaceful people who have decided to test nuclear weapons ...

  • @silvermitriy And who exactly supplied the Soviets with the material required to fight their war?

  • hood is too out dated that why it cant take on the might of the german navy.

  • Bismarck fuck Hood ! Hahahaha

  • @imposer1972 u think thats funny 1,300 men died

ur sick in the head just cus u come froma third rate naton like brazil

  • @fairman3456 Bismarck, 2.200 men dead.

14 caças Swordfish + King George V , Rodney and battlecruiser Dorsetshire.

    unequal battle !!

  • @fairman3456 Bismarck already damaged, sinking of the Hood was a consequence of war. Already the simple bismarck revenge. 2200 killed by revenge.

  • Prinz Eugen a "heavy battlecruiser" lol. He was a 15,000 ton heavy cruiser.

  • @aGWARfan very true

  • The Hood was sent into battle before properly fitted with armour for the Second World War, and a chance shot ignited one of the ammunition stocks. I'm not saying Hood was better than Bismarck, but bad timing and a stroke of luck meant the Hood didn't get the justice it deserved.

  • I agree with you on that and I know that, however it was a achievement like never before and should get some spot light on it. At least thats what I think.

  • Good questions where is the yamato?

  • The Yamato class were the strongest battleships but they didn't see much action at all. They didn't do much before they were sunk so had a poor service history.

  • It was designed for broadsiding a heavy ship before her guns can be turned on the battlecruiser. Apparently, its guns needed replacing.

  • well armored :D :D :D

at skagerrak everybody has seen that those ships simply explode under heavy fire.

Against the Bismarck this had to happen again, a critical hit and everythings over =(

  • This rating is SOOO ridiculous. Why rate the fire power of Hood so low???? The ship had eight 15 inch guns!

  • @DarkMachine The Bismark had much better rate of fire and fire control. There is a very good book by Von Mullenheim-Rechberg. He describes the key differences between Hood and Bismark. Hood should have never been allowed anywhere near the Bismark.

  • @TRUMPHENT I agree......The Bismarck was better in every way. But I really think that the fire power rating could have been a little higher for Hood.. Let's face it....it's not like it had 8 five inch guns. Bismarck was rated at # 7 which is low as well.

  • the people who did this top ten don't know anything. It's not the Hood class battlecrusier. the hood was admiral class and was meant to be one of four battlecrusiers

  • i herd theres a new battle cruiser,

    that can fly.

and its looks bigger than the TITANIC!

  • The battlecruiser was completely discredited at Jutland, where 3 British and a German were lost. Hood was originally to be one of 4 ships, but three were cancelled when their flaws became evident.

Hood was a magnificent vessel in many ways and the finest battlecruiser ever built, but her weak deck armour left her totally unsuited to fight a proper battleship like the Bismarck. This was NOT what she was designed for.

  • @tonythekingfisher

well you know, its what will happened if the balance in firepower, mobility and armor is greatly offset by one of them

  • Indeed. Jackie Fisher's ludicrous assertion that "speed is armour" led to all British battlecruisers sacrificing armour for speed and gunpower, but no matter how fast your ship and powerful your guns are, they're useless if you've just been sunk.

  • HMS HOOD was the finest most powerful BATTLECRUISER ever built, lets not forget she was designed to track down and destroy crusiers not battleships!

  • Really.. Hood makes the list (Virtually did nothing her whole career, no disrespect meant) but the Yamato, KGV do NOT makes the list *Cough*bullshit*cough*

  • @rdvd7 Agreed wholeheartedly, although the KGV did suffer from too many turret problems.

  • did it say "Battlecruiser Operational!"

  • There is so much ill-conceived, misleading, and inaccurate comments in this series it's ridiculous...

  • prinz eugen wasn t a battlecruiser

  • stupid stupid stupid!

  • I heard he killed himself.

  • Hood shouldn't even have been included... they should have put Richelieu instead...

  • the fact is, the hoods replacement was the vanguard, yes, with smaller guns than the iowa and yamato, but with equailly as heavy armour, faster, most advanced radar and the best anti aircraft systemes ever put on a battleship and some of the most advanced damage control system, if war had broken out in 1945 like hitler had intended, Vanguard would have been waiting!

  • Hood is the sexiest brit battleship right next to the Warspite.

  • I prefer those old style bridge superstructures, but the Vanguard was pretty damn sexy as well.

  • @scottduncan44: Grow up! But it says your age is 59 yrs old. If that's true, don't even bother trying!

  • Big ship ... bbbbiiiigggg target ...lol

  • Shokaku!

  • it's strange that the Yammato or Mushi (sp) wern;t on this list and those were the most powerful battleships of all time.
