Can someone please explain this to me:

1) Why does Obama keep claiming that 95% of Americans will get a tax cut under his plan when only 70% of Americans even pay taxes to begin with?

2) How will raising taxes on small businesses and corporations create jobs?

I would love to hear from an Obama supporter. Extra points if you can: 1)respond without calling me a "racist" for daring to question the Messiah and 2)respond without using the words "hope", "change", or "Bush."

lj 1) The way I understand it, only those who GET a W2, will see their annual earnings taxed in a lower bracket. A tax cut won't translate to a tax credit for someone who didn't file a 1040 in the first place. 2) There may not be a correlation between the two initiatives, maybe the jobs will be a result of another pledge; but I can logically see where Google and Dell may consider insourcing call centers back on shore to get the tax cut and avoid outsource tax penalties. Senator Obama, if you will be honest with the crowd. Tell them that if you make $2.8 million a year, that they will pay around 55% in taxes annually, and under McCain, they would get taxed around 25-30% in taxes...

A quarter of the tax cut? About 90% of the taxes are paid by about 10% of Americans. Therefore a majority of the tax breaks will impact the high income families. If you make 2.8 million a year you will probably pay around 1.4 million in taxes. How is it fair to pay that much in taxes when some people pay nothing? I don't make 2.8 million a year, but that is not right.
