@vinsocks Yes, this is the same location used by Laurel and Hardy in The Music Box. In fact, there is now a plaque mounted by the stairs commemorating the location as the site of their film. The stairs still exist today, but that section of town has become pretty run down in the last few years, according to what I read on the Internet.

The 2004 thing is that the original was done over in color in 2004. It's a reproduction make over. The original in black and white was done in the 1930's.

Colorization made great advances since it was first introduced. It all looks so natural and consistant throughout. Also there aren't any stray background items in black and white. Of course there are purists who can only accept the Stooges shorts in the original black and white and that's fine. For me though this advanced colorization process really enhances the experience.
