  • Arlene, I love this canvas! It is so beautiful! The layers and layers make it great! I am not really good at this sort of art though! I will put something like the wings on and then won't be able to cover them up. How do you know to cover certain things up? How do you know when to stop? You have layers under there that you can't even see anymore. Teach me please! It's gorgeous! ---leslie

  • i like it so much ! i watch this video a kind of 50 times :P

  • wow,, great wrk!! love it!!!!

  • hi arlene! i was wondering can we use the apple acrylic paint for this as well instead of student grade acrylic paint? thanks and that art work of yours is truley amazing(:

  • @foreverandom16 Thanks so much for your comment. :-) Yes, regular acrylic paints (i.e. Apple Barrel, Folk Arts, etc.) from your local Michael's or WalMart work great too, but be sure to Gesso (prep) your page first so the paint colors stay bold. :-) Enjoy!

  • did u know that there is a twilight glimmer mist?

  • @xxMyamxx Yup, have it. hehe! :-)

  • absolutly amazing my daughter loves edward so i shown her this and she was like you got to do me one i was like i could ever make something this good i dont think so thank you for showing us your wonderfull talent xxxx

  • is that soft gel product kind of like Modge Podge lol? looks like it's similar.. Love this, I created one, but doesnt look as good as yours

  • @scrapp3r12 Sort of. Modge Podge is very different in texture (it's liquid versus gel) but both products achieve the "collage" look I was going for in this canvas. Hope this helps and sorry I'm so late in replying. :-)

  • whohoo! another great masterpiece! :) tfs!

ate Ar, may i know how much does the acryllic paints cost from there? coz I paint too. . . oil and watercolor, however I could not find much acryllic paints here in my hometown >,< thanks!

  • @selectionsbyER Hey ER.... acrylic paints range from $.88 a bottle to $30 a tube. hehe! It depends on the "grade" of paint you're looking for (such as student versus professional grade.) :-)

  • Bona will LOVE it!

And I'm sure you'll have a great time watching Eclipse.

It's 21:45 over here and we just saw Eclipse. It's different from what I imagined reading the book (like the bed Edward bought and stuff) but the tent Edward/Jacob scene is still great! So funny.

    Greetings from the Netherlands, Europe

  • Hi Arlene, Love your canvas for Bona. I love watching you work because the outcome is so unpredictable but the result is amzing. Great work with all these layering techniques. With your style of layering you might like to try a Glazing medium Liquid (Satin) by Golden. You can mix it with any acrylic paint color. They're also come in premixed bottles. Give it a try, you'll love it! TFS :)

  • Its funny how you can put down images -ex: the wings- and you have that plan. But during your collage you keep working and layering- its like your canvas has a design of its own. You end up creating texture that is so beautiful- one of a kind. The texture is exquisite. Thank you so much for sharing

  • O M G !!!! Love It!! Go team Edward!!!!!

  • The canvas came out AWESOME.. Bona will Love it. Thanks for making a tutorial on this. TFS... :O)

  • Bona is going to really dig this, especially being a newbie to the Twilight Saga. So funny how they're combining the last two books into one movie. I'm excited to see how that's going to play out. Anyway.. where did you get those images?

  • @vmtee Hey there. They are actually breaking up the last book "Breaking Dawn" into 2 movies. I'm so excited about that!!! :-) The pics are from the internet, I just printed them on photo paper.

  • @mybutterflykisses12 Awesome! thanks! I was wondering where everyone had been getting their images. It's going to be a good one, i can't wait to see it as well!

  • I have not been into Twilight, but I guess I will now! Absolutely beautiful!

  • Thank you soooo much for filming while you made it, it's so inspiring! Really amazing! Love it! I'm a huge fan too, can't wait for the movie this weekend! TFS!

  • Amazing!!!!! My sister and I are huge Twilight fans. It makes it soooo much more fun when you can read the books with your bff. We are Team Edward all the way. Have you read Midnight Sun? I wish Stephenie Meyer would finish it, but I don't care I'll read anything Twilight whether its half done or not. You have inspired me to try to make a canvas for my sister. Truly amazing Arlene. I love the grungy look. Thanks so much for sharing!!!!

  • @tarakelley79 Hi Tara, yup of course I read Midnight Sun! hehe! So super disappointed the content was leaked cuz can you imagine how awesome that book would have been cover to cover??? They should still do a movie based on the non-book. :-)

  • I am not a fan of twilight, but the canvas looks beautiful with all the layers of painting and stamping! tfs :)

  • oh this canvas was great, she will love it :D

  • I love it its beautiful you are so sweet lucky Bona she is going to love it .

  • Great job, I love it with all of the layers. Did you make it in one sitting and heat all of the layers with the heat gun? Thanks for sharing!

  • @cindysms Hi Cindy! I let the first layer air dry and did the rest in one sitting, drying layers as I go so it wouldn't get muddy. I let the last layer (glass bead gel) dry on its own cuz it bubbles when heated. TFW! :-)

  • Love it, lots of fun layers........also where do you guys find these pictures?

  • @catladyof5 Thanks. Google on the internet "Twilight Movie Pictures." :-)

  • I love this! I really enjoyed watching the layers come together =)

  • hee hee hee ar, LOL your so funny love it -like a kid in the candy store, how fun was this to make, too cute...i STILL have to read the BOOK...!!!!!! it sounds SO GOOD

  • Hey Arlene, that was fun to watch. ALOT of new products I am not familiar with. lol I love how you incorporated so many diff techniques and the crest was a neat tough but then it was convered up by the tulle. lol I guess when your creating ANYTHING can happen and in this case a beautiful was created. GREAT job.!!! xoxo

  • Oh Arlene this is so amazing!! I love this with all my heart. You know I am a fan just like you and I watched this with my mouth hanging wide open. LOL. You did a wonderful job on this!! I'm going to try and make one of these for myself. I know it won't look as good as yours but I just have to try. Thank you for sharing. I can't wait to see Eclipse. YEA!!! Big Hugs, Jenny :)

  • What I love about the collage work is that you never know what you will see when you're done! You layer and layer until you get the look you want and many of your layered pieces might get lost, but who would know? This is beautiful, thank you for sharing and adding your steps. Very helpful.

  • This is beautiful! I'm sure Bona will love it!!!! I got some glass bead gel and just love the texture that it adds to my pojects.....TFS

  • Arlene, Arlene, Arlene....you NEVER cease to amaze me! I love watching you create because it is obvious that you love it! Bona is gonna be lovin this!!!! You are a sweet friend!

  • What a wonderful idea!!! It looks like you really had a lot of fun creating this. I love Twilight too although I'm very behind with reading the books. I'm stuck on Eclipse and actually haven't picked it up in months. I can't believe the movie is almost out. I need to get back into reading it. I'm always working on various things so I tend to get distracted. LOL!!! TFS. Much Aloha~ Jes

  • I like the bubble wrap technique you used. The canvas turned out so great. I am going to show it to my daughter and see if she wants to do one. She is Team Jacob though.
