Sorry but my heart will always belong to the original, the jumbo, the 747, this 225 is an amazing aircraft but an old bird in truth with modern avionics and a bit of paint slapped over its patch work body, it was only created to carry the Russians stolen version of the space shuttle hence the needlessly large twin tail created to accommodate the shuttle on her back while maintaining a healthy Yaw axis control, fine aircraft though, loved it in the 2012 film!

holy crap! nice vid! that plane is just truly unbelievable!! the size of it is just mind blowing, i bet the noise of it is just beautiful, i was at east midlands on friday and watched an altas air take off, 4 engines i think and when it fully powered up the noise was so awesome!! anyways great vid, thanks!

I think they should double the number of engines or use more powerful engines and come up with a giant which can carry 500 tons of cargo. Eventually, it would be nice if they make an aircraft which can carry 1000 tons of cargo. It might put railways out of business in certain routes.

I know that they are loading military cargo on to it we had it's sister plane at ema today the 124 it left earlier in the day believe me it's absolutely massive no video will ever dhow you the true size I hear it will be coming back tomorrow it parks at DHL cargo west if anyone wants to come see it

Aah but It was designed for the transportation of the Russian Space Shuttle "Buran" by the Antonov Design Bureau (HQ in Kiev, Ukraine), so your both right :)
