We take a lot of precautions. Anyone trying/learning must submit a medical statement. They are given an explanation of how the equipment works. They are briefed on some of the "rules" of diving and they are taught a few skills (like any beginner diver working towards their certification). Divemasters or Instructors have control of small groups in very confined areas, like swimming pools. If done correctly it is safe.
@kellyrus408 but why not give them information instead of diving? Since something could happen to them? There are divers that are not really divers to begin with. Like Resort areas.
Every person who decides to become a certified diver fits your concern. Everyone starts off knowing little or nothing about diving. If they follow very simple directions (never hold your breath) they are in shallow enough water to either stand up or nearly stand up. And an instructor/divemaster is always right there.
You should give it a try and see. It's a blast. Floating underwater...almost like floating in space.
@kellyrus408 If I didnt tell you I am basic Naui. No its just like anyone can scuba dive with a C-card and i think thats wrong. Yeah I did like that. But people can drown in a foot of water. thats what I would be concered about. But why in resorts they give you cards but not Padi or Naui C-cards? Those cards matter not the one day you are now a scuba diver. Because yes it can be nice but it can be dangerous too
So there not certificated?

@Hallamfoebell
This class only introduced SCUBA to these divers...it's more of an "experience". So, no, these divers did not become certified after this class.
