  • so much better than coldplay why aren't they more famous, someone pls tell me why?

  • @morman29 let's not compare Bon Iver to Coldplay, shall we? It's like comparing champagne to cola... worlds apart.

  • @sarahholic Bon Iver = Champagne....

  • @morman29 Broadly it's just because Coldplay's music appeals to a wider range of people. After all, popularity and talent are rarely parallel. To your taste, this is the better music, and I agree, but really it's subjective. Bon Iver (for me) is one of the most talented musicians in history, but at the same time as a lover of music I appreciate the talents bands like Coldplay possess, even though I'd be more likely to enjoy Bon Iver.

  • @ConorHurren Thank you for your comment

  • Cuando vienen al sur... Los esperamos muchos en Argentina muchachos!!!! Son una verdadera maravilla. Cuando todo esta inventado ustedes saltan de la nada con un estilo solo suyo... Los queremos ver en vivo!

When are you coming to the south? ... We´re waiting for you here in Argentine!... Your music is original when everthing is already invented. Please we want to see you in a show here!

  • this is after-life.

  • Angelic voice, nuf said

  • Does any1 else just listen to the music and not bother looking at the comments ... lol since when should you give a shit about someone elses opinion, if you love it listen ...

  • Excellent video, thanks for posting. Love the vibes!

HEY PEEPS - IGNORE THE TROLLS. Give them not one second of your time or energy--because criticism is the death gargle of the non-achiever.

  • The sound is so muffled and beautiful, reminds me of a foggy morning when the sun's just coming up

  • Such a good end jam! SOOOOO GOOOD!

  • dunno what the fook hes saying but it sounds mint.

  • @tutdark sold my cold knot, a heavy stone, sold my red horse for a venture home to vanish on the bow, settling slow. fit it all, fit in the doldrums, so the story goes. color the era, filmin', it's historical. My mile could not pump the plumb. in my arbor still my ardor's wrought, trumped every inner inertia, lump sum. all at ones, rushing from the sub pump, so the story goes. balance we won't know, we will see when it gets warm.

  • seeing him perform in october along with an 8-piece orchestra!

  • the second guitarist looks like the kid from gummo all grown up

  • @brandonokelly no way! Gummo was SO strange looking

  • Pretty remarkable how the dislike button is untouched no one would dare to disrespect this! much love

  • the one person who disliked this is a turd.

  • @nanabell500 Or a Lady GaGa fan who doesn't appreciate real music.

  • 4:02, why did you have to come?

  • so fucking beautiful.

  • lovelovelovelovelovelovelovelove

  • I just take the IV out of Bon Iver and that's what I get when I listen to this.

  • The most amazing amazing thing , wow thankyou so much for uploading this video!

  • Sold my cold knot, a heavy stone Sold my red horse for a venture home To vanish on the bow Settling slow Fit it all, fit it in the doldrums Or so the story goes Color the era Film it as historical My mile could not pump the plumb In my arbor 'till my ardor trumped Every inner inertia Lump sum All at once rushing from the sump-pump Or so the story goes Balance we won't know We will see when it gets warm
  • I fucking love Wisconsin, we got Bon Iver and the Packers.

  • @mcquick22 Redneck packer fans dont listen to brilliant musicians such as Bon Iver. How dare you attempt to make a connection between the two... shame shame on you.

  • @Bearswin8584

you'd be amazed at how wrong you really are

  • @Bearswin8584 dude your an asshole

  • @Bearswin8584

"Redneck packer fans dont listen to brilliant musicians such as Bon Iver"

That's funny, I thought that the idiots on youtube didn't listen to Bon Iver either. In future, you shouldn't be so rude.

  • this man is going to be the Nick Drake 20 years from now

  • @lieinmygrave That's a horrific thing to say. Nick Drake was dead by 26 and hadn't recorded in last three years. He was a depressed, bedroom bound wreck and his records sold a pittance in his lifetime. Justin is already 29 and his career is going from strength to strrength. Let's just enjoy his beautiful music.

  • @goldfishwars that is not at all what I meant, I'm sorry you misunderstood. Nick Drake was a great songwriter who wasn't really appreciated for what he did till much later. Fortunately Bon Iver is nothing of the sort, but I see the two as similar song writers who will be appreciated 20 years from now. I clearly did not wish death upon Bon Iver, that would be senseless and stupid

  • @lieinmygrave Fair enough - apologies for that. I wrongly assumed it was the type of werid fan-driven fatalist fantasy you see from time to time.

I have a feeling Bon Iver will be appreciated just fine in his lifetime. For one thing, he's a very confident and competent peformer and can tour his material. Nick developed a phobia of performing live and didn't have the benefit of the internet as an avenue to promote his genius.

  • one person must have had an IBS flare up while watching this i guess

  • the myspace transmissions were alot better than his (their) album versions. at least to me, dosent make me like them any less :)

  • dang one person disliked this...crazy crazy fool!

  • where can i get a xylophone that sounds like that. seriously.

  • @itstastybacon it's a vibraphone. and if you're willing to spend 1,000+ dollars, lots of places.

  • the drummer makes eye contact with justin the entire time. id be kind of uncomfortable.

  • Beastmode

  • beautiful

  • is that justins brother on drums?

  • @bLackmarketRadio no that is not Nate

  • love the music. Nice neck beard by the lead singer dude. lmfao

  • CON-GRA-TU-LA-TIONS! One of those songs that you wanna have forever. I have some in my life from Beirut, Radiohead, Coldplay, Kings of Convenience, and José González, among a few others, that I need. You are definitely among them too. Thank you, guys. It's clear it was absolutely not easy to develop such curve. Please don't stop and best luck ever! You got us.

  • @MGdharma you're best going on the old itunes matey...they are worth the money!

  • such an amazing song,.. does anyone know what guitar justin's using?

  • So. Fucking. Amazing. . Holy. Moses. Of. Justin. Vernon.

  • Someone can help me to dowload this song please. I can't find it.

  • this music is sooooo chilll

  • Bon Iver are in another league. Period.

  • Gives me shivers. Really :)

  • if i had one ounce of their skill id be a happy happy man.

  • That is one decked out drum set!

  • is the young guy playing the gretsch playing a 6 string bass or a guitar?

  • @JackKrausGuitar guitar. gretschs are known for their bass sounds when played on the rhythm pick up

  • @badcreaturesmusic ok thanks but it looked like he was picking it like a bass

  • @JackKrausGuitar i am pretty sure it is a baritone guitar. :)

  • Holy Crap! Could these guys be any more musical?!! Love this!

  • unbelieveable.

  • Wow; amazing!

  • that's one solid rhythm section

  • gorgeous.

  • dunno if i could make it without bon iver

  • @zahaiyah same for me ... so powerful...

  • I don't think another man could even compare to how perfect he is.

  • okay, so is that other guitarist playing a solid body taylor with a bigsby? because that would be bad ass

  • a baritone solid body taylor

  • Except that's a Gretsch baritone.

  • I am in LOVE with Justin.. but I'd kinda marry the bassist too.

  • That guy is Matt McCaughan who has been in several bands like Portatastic and Rosebuds and who is the brother of Mac McCaughan of Superchunk (who also happened to found Merge Records, home to Arcade Fire and Neutral Milk Hotel among others). A real good drummer if you heard him over the years.

  • he has one brother, and he's not in the band, but he does manage the tour when they're in the US

  • is there any way to get the footage of these few songs in DVD quality? I'd love to be able to stick it on the TV once in a while - amazing music, really touching.

  • nah justin played everything on the album

  • no its just him on the album

  • do those guys do backups on the album recordings?? i just thought it was his voice over the top ....

  • They just help him now for recordings like these :D

But for the album he was basically alone in a cabin expressing himself ^_^

    Almost everything done by him

  • wow.

  • Thats a band who creates music from the deep deep inside.. you cant just come up with that on a whim..

  • Doea anyone know where I can download/ purchase these recordings (can you get them from myspace??). thanks.

  • Comment removed
