@nukeshockhybrid Google 'thera band'. Joerg says he gets his thera bands on ebay. You might also experiment with other things. A good hardware store will have latex tubing. You might also try bike inner tube.

As to the bands, what would be a good weight/length for a newbie to the slingshot world? I'm really not that strong, but as reference I can draw a 40-50 lb. bow relatively easily.

i have one question for you Jörg where does you get youre steel balls? i am going to buy an (sorry do not know what the correct word is) leadmelting pot. i know that i can get lead froom tire factory and shooting ranges but i gues i have to buy steel balls froom ebay.

i have some problems finding thick leather and multiplex wood.. so when i use like 7 cm wide thera band black i have to use my booring bought steel wrist rocket and my pouch keeps getting torn of..

More questions for Joerg: Can you use your bone crusher ammo with this? What is the red stuff you tie your thera band gold together with? And would there be anyway for you to measure or convert some of your dimensions to the American system? They don't sell things in millimeters or centimeters at the local hardware store. Thanks!

@mrdanisthename Shooting the crushers would require some simple modification to the notch that holds the magnet (adapt it to the shape of the crushers). I use plain and cheap poly string that I buy in the DIY store, I use the constriction knot to tie. Conversion is easy, take the value in mm and divide through 25.4 - then you have your inches. A little variation is no problem, you don 't have to use the EXACT sizes.

@DZgoodTimes The flechettes, the arrows, and also the small dia lead balls will do that with ease. Shooting the large dia steel balls is more like hitting somebody with a hammer rather than with a spike - but we are talking a hammer at 5 times the speed. Enormous stopping power.

Joerg is there a way to simulate bone inside of the ballistics gelatin? It wouldn't have to be exactly mounting a fake skull in the mould before pouring. Most likely would be time consuming and expensive for these purposes. I enjoy your videos, keep up the good work.

That being said however, a towel or blanket loosely hanging makes a great backstop after your ammo should pass through a target. Carry on, Joerg. The vast majority of us enjoy your videos and ideas very much.

I fully agree with the cross section of a 20mm will be stopped by a loosely hanging strong fabric, but I am glad you also mentioned in another post the trauma it would inflict. I would NOT like to be wearing just a tee shirt (or two, since it's winter), should I be hit by a 20mm steel ball. I'm sure the ball would damage deeply enough to cause severe injury if not death. I just hope no one will assume a tee shirt will be 'armor' and will not take into account the deep trauma it would inflict.

Nylon (which I'm assuming the bandanna is made out of) is very strong... but I wasn't expecting it to stop the ball...

Also, the way the trigger works, wouldn't you lose power since the ball will want to rotate when it passes the stopper (don't know what it's called)? I suppose you could try to make it work like the hopup in airsoft, by changing it slightly, to give it backspin, so you'd have greater range.

@krap101 A ball as thick as the 20 mm one I used does not have great penetration power because of its large surface. If you want textile and skin penetration, a pointed arrow or a small lead ball performs way better. But in real life, the hit to the forehead would have caused a massive trauma, with bleedings and a cracked skull. It would have inflicted life threatening injuries and any attacker would have been stopped immediately.

I suggest a crossbow that shoots a sling shot, which shoots a stick shot all along the same barrel to shoot some kind of terminator killing round, sounds complicated but I'm sure you could knock it up!

On a tiny scale, same thing here - the target shooter fraction in Germany hates me because they think I am the walking reason for the government to ban slingshots. @Lihaschu Ich hatte den Kopf noch mit anderen Geschossen beschossen und einen Fetzen aus dem Einschussloch abgerissen. Ballistische Gelatine ist so weich wie ein roher Schweinebraten, Haut ist sehr viel zäher. Gelatine emuliert NUR das Fleisch.

That's Quite Impressive How to Video. I was thinking about the shape of the fork, I think it will break from continuous use. I prefer the old V-shape slingshot rifle fork than the T-shape you just made now I think it's much safe... Thanks for Sharing more power and more video to come.

@MrChaosHeadz The slingshot won't break ever, multiplex is so strong. The T-shape was necessary, it helps cocking the very heavy bands you need to achieve serious power with this very short draw length.
