The enemy colonel is David Suchet, he played many, many roles over the years and is known for his ability to pick up any accent with ease and make it sound believable. He and Lou Gosset Jr. are the really good actors in this film.

Brilliant? This movie is a joke. Terrible acting, shitty plot and purely unrealistic. I'm a big fan of the '80s and the action movies filmed in them but this is not one of them. Iron Eagle was great - Iron Eagle II, III and IV = FAIL.
In the 80's the USAF had a policy with involving their fighter aircraft and hollywood films. So the film makers turned to the Israeli Air Force for their necessary aerial sequnces. Israel has a pretty strong Air Force which includes roughly 237 F-16 Fighting Falcons.
Sorry, the F-16 Fighting Falcon "Viper" is USA, engeneered by General Dynamics back in 74 for the Air Force. Since then their has been 4,400 built, one of the best combat jets of all TIME!!!!!!!
He means the actual fighters in use. They are the variant of the Falcon that is sold to Israel, denoted by the paintscheme. USAF variants are usually military grey. And yes it was partially filmed in Israel and those are Israeli Air Force owned F-16

In the 80's the USAF had a policy with involving their fighter aircraft and hollywood films. So the film makers turned to the Israeli Air Force for their necessary aerial sequnces. Israel has a pretty strong Air Force which includes roughly 237 F-16 Fighting Falcons.

Sorry, the F-16 Fighting Falcon "Viper" is USA, engeneered by General Dynamics back in 74 for the Air Force. Since then their has been 4,400 built, one of the best combat jets of all TIME!!!!!!!

He means the actual fighters in use. They are the variant of the Falcon that is sold to Israel, denoted by the paintscheme. USAF variants are usually military grey. And yes it was partially filmed in Israel and those are Israeli Air Force owned F-16

Well, they only wars I know of when they attacked is when Egypt thought they could drive them into the Red Sea back in '67. but, Israel annihilated the entire Egyptian air force and with-in 6 days, the Egyptian military retreated. You people no nothing about the military. Those "tents" could be filled with either jet fuel or anit-aircraft shells for their Ti-67 105mm anit-aircraft guns. In April of 1980 15 MD500's and three AH-1S Cobras were sold to the Israeli Air Force. By 1981 nine AH-1F Cobras were delivered and then eight more were added to their air force in 1985 and more in 1987.

Well the Vulcan cannon of the F-16 is a 20mm Gatling gun, it will destroy any helicopter with a direct hit, although not in such a flashy Hollywood fireball style.

Me too. It's funny if you think about it. He uses a Maverick anti-tank missile to destroy a worthless antenna, which then falls on a TENT that has a huge explosion.
It was still an awesome movie though.
The movie was actually half Israeli propaganda (the jets being shot down are Israeli Kfirs, which are being supplied by Israel and depicted as Arab to make Arabs look bad).
