As a professional violinist, I think this sounds amazing and am really quite impressed at the level of playing these musicians are achieving at such a young age. Great job, nice piece. Heart warming.
slower mate! i played it as a solo for senior orchastra in edinburgh and im 12 and i knew that! its supposed to be sad cause the people died and he went into the woods and wrote it!
When I was I think 10, or at least in 3rd Grade, I was in an orchestra at our schoo. (Viola) I was a 3rd Grader playing in the 4th Grade orchestra.
Every year, our teacher does a "Fiddlefest", where we get together and play it. Only 6th Grade and up were allowed, but she let me, a young 3rd grader play.
The song, works miricles in our family. My sister, who hadn't played in a year, played it perfectly, causing her to rejoin the orchestra.
Wow, I'm sorry but you guys (jackattack and Nimzz), sound like idiots. You have no idea about when or why the song was written. It has nothing to do with death or woods. I know you feel the need to inflate your ego by commenting and bragging about songs you probably could never play yourself, but seriously no one cares. Please dont waste our time with you useless comments and your talk of your accomplishments. If you have a constuctive comment make it and leave it at that.
Wow that was great guys! I played this when my conductor died in high school and I think you guys sounded better than we did (and we even had Jay Unger come play it with us). Keep up the good work!
If you think this is good for middle schoolers, you should see my middle school perform. (sadly, ever since our conductor died, we have never been the same) But we play grade for music, and according to the judges, we're pretty good.
Awesome job. I have heard experienced adult Folk musicians not play this song as well. The girl in the green shirt came in rushing a bit, but settled herself down nicely. Great job.
wow. they are truly awesone - especially for middle schoolers.. i'm so ignorant when i play the Farewell on the piano; i play it more as a classical piece than as a western piece (i think it's prettier) but wow - they're awesome

(Ths was meant to be responce to Nimzz15 continued)
I haven't played it in years. I picked it up after 2 years, and within 3 tries, I played it perfectly.
Point is, I agree with you. It's a sad tune, and it brings tears to my heart still this day.
R.I.P. People....
Sorry it's 2 post. I wanted to write this, but my Character Count got in the way.

Well... not perfect. There wasn't a constant tempo, and couple of out of tune notes. But overall really good.
